I’ve went to mystic pizza April 2016. Volunteered for the town music and arts event parade. Floor smelled like beer and the pizza was solid.
Arthur Bryant's BBQ here in Kansas City should have been on that list, very well known and very iconic.

Pat's and Geno's are tourist traps. If you want a good cheesesteak, go to any mom and pop's store on the corner in any neighborhood. Or, if you're not that adventurous, go to Jim's Steaks.

I loved this video until they said Pats and Genos. Not even close to being the best. Go to Dalesandro"s, Jim's or John's Roast Pork. Now you've got a REAL Philly cheesteak.

i've had the pleasure of eating at St. Elmos Twice and Katz's once. Best shrimp cocktail i've ever had and nothing even comes close. The most intense horseradish flavor you can imagine.

You'll be disappointed to discover Mystic Pizza is a below average to average pizza joint that's expensive as hell because of the movie.
That is interesting how some of the restaurants featured in certain films got additional boosts after film footage, I do find it fascinating that a multiple number of restaurants featured are within a diverse number of places with the United States.
I’ve been to Katz in 99 & 2000. Didn’t know it was a famous restaurant until years later. Almost revisited it in 2019 but lines were out the door as noted in the video. Not surprising.
I lived in Mystic , Ct for a few years in the 80's when the movie was filmed. Trust me, though it's a great restaurant, it is nothing like the movie nor are the people running or visiting it. That being said, It's a great pizza restaurant and I recommend to anyone that finds themselves in this part of the country to visit Mystic, CT. and Mystic Seaport as a whole. :P

I live in Los Angeles and I would proudly say In-N-Out! Can eat in n out burgers anytime of the day, it just hits different!

My dad worked for somebody who worked at the Commander's Palace. That guy went on to have a restaurant that's home to the best fried chicken in the state of Louisiana.

My stepdad son was a chef as commanders palace before he passed away.
Katz's corned beef is BEYOND DELICIOUSNESS AND THEN SOME but only tourists sit at "The Table".
I prefer to grab my ticket, wait on line, order my sandwich and a kinish and sit at a table that's not at the wall (another tourist thing to do in my opinion because a server takes your order.).
I had eaten at the Sunset Grill in california when I was younger it was inspired by the song from Don Henley sunset grill too bad it's been down for years.
Back in the late 50's you could buy a huge whole lobster for $i.00 in Mystic. I ate a lot of them when I went to Submarine school in Groton.

I used to love Pizza Hut until they removed the extra large Super Supreme pan pizza from their menu. They say they can make similar pizza by request but it's not the same.

We all know some people who made the french laundry famous recently.
The oldest bar in downtown Cincinnati is called Arnold's. There was a TV show on about 10 years ago or so. The characters on the show were patrons of the bar. I don't remember the name of the show but I think Kathy Bates was in it.
After digging, the name of the show was Harry's Law.

Same I live on the Ledyard/Mystic border. I only know Mystic pizza from the movies, haven’t eaten at it for that reason, but I’d rather go to Sally’s in New Haven.

This is true. I ate there years ago when it was run by a husband and wife team. He was a former banker who ran the front of house and she was a talented home cook but nowhere close to the professional that Thomas Keller is.
He did purchase French Laundry but he and his team have brought it light years past its original charming but limited roots. A meal there today is a one of a kind culinary journey. Well worth the expense if you have the resources.

I've done 2 blind taste tests of Phillies cheese steaks, Pat's, Gino's and Tony Luke's. I can tell you Pat's is the best of the 3! If you want an amazing Hot roast pork sandwich, get it at Gino's...
