    I realize I completely missed an opportunity to make a dad joke about this video being too “sappy,” and I apologize. 🥺

    I didn't have enough time to find your names. I'm Shawn. I have spent my entire life in ND and more specifically the SW part of the state. After growing up in a small town and attending Dickinson State University, I never left Dickinson. The comfortability and safety of my town eased me and made me fall in love with ND all over again. The real bonus ended up being Dickinson's proximity to Medora (30 minutes away). After college and several other jobs I ended up working in Medora managing a hotel. Every night people from all over, especially international visitors would pour into the lobby 15-20 minutes after I heard those familiar, nightly fireworks. They all came in gasped at magnificence of the produce value and talent they had just witnessed. There is a reason the New York Times has consistently put the Medora Musical on the Top 5 place/events to witness. However, the musical is only half the story. Between Theodore Roosevelt National Park's entrance being directly across the street from the musical, the badlands are an endless array of vistas, photo opportunities, and animal interactions. Thank you so much for not only making this video, but including Medora, North Dakota, and the greater plains on your channel. And for the record, some part of the musical bring tears to everyone's eyes. Whether it is the patriotism parts, the historical remembrances, or children interactions. The musical has successfully found the magic ingredients to tug at the heart of everyone from young to old, from man to woman, from local to international guest. The Medora Musical and the town itself truly is Highway Therapy. Your local Dakotan- Shawn

    Ok there is no crying in RV'ing, lmao! Sometimes we get overwhelmed and flooded and you cannot control it, let it happen! Good your family get's to see you as a human, been there. The Lee Greenwood song yeah every deployment they had that cranked up and I was like let's go not again, lol. Great video and beautiful family!

    Amen Brother, Amen. Those aren't just stickers, they are stories. It's not the Destination, it's the Journey that's important. Enjoy them with your family, soon enough they will grow and go. Time is one thing you can spend, waste and NEVER get back.

    Love your positivity and excitement for the Dakotas. Another UA-camr was pretty negative about Medora -- I felt. Every place has something special if you know how to look like you guys do!

    I just found your channel, and had to subscribe! First, the way you talk to and about your wife is so wonderful to hear - it is obvious you love and respect her and your family. Second, you are honest about what is happening and what you are seeing - not too "sappy", but just taking us along on your adventure. Thank you so much for sharing your travels and your heart - and yes, I got a little teary eyed at your sweet reflection at the end of the musical. Safe travels! I'm off to watch all your videos! :)

    Awesome video. Medora is an amazing place. We go every year with our kids and my in laws. There's like 15 of us that go as a family trip every July or August. We live on the eastern side of the state so it's a 6 or 7 hour drive for us. I'm glad you got to experience it. Hopefully you got to drive through the 36 mile loop of the park and see all it's beauty.

    That part of the country is beautiful (from what I’ve seen in movies and you) thank y’all for the show. Another spot to add to my bucket list. Hopefully I’ll see it before I get too old to make the trip. More screen time for Nick & Haley.
    Be careful, Love y’all.

    Love your insights and that you share from the heart the experience this has been for you and your family and all the emotions involved. We are a family from North Dakota, we go to the Medora Musical every year and cry every time! We are also seriously planning to sell our beautiful home to full time fifth wheeling so that we can be together as a family. Seeing this and other videos of yours is helping me with all of the emotions involved in a decision like this. I’m thankful for you and the heart and words you share and maybe we will see you out there on the road as well!

    Question,. What bike rack do you use? We are looking for one that will hold up. Thanks!

    • @HighwayTherapy
      @HighwayTherapy  3 роки тому +1

      It's a Swagman Trailhead 4. It's RV rated, but they don't recommend using it on a fifth wheel. Honestly, I've got almost 20k miles on it and the rack itself is completely solid, but the bikes have taken a beating.

      Wow!....just WOW! I grew up about 20 miles west of Medora in Sentinel Butte. Joined the military after graduation and after 35 years of being gone from home....WERE BACK! Thank you so MUCH for your review.....we have not been to the Pitchfork Fondue yet but after watching we will definitely be making the trip. We visited the Chateau DE Mores today (military free plus guest) and a dri e through TRNP (again. FREE) just show your National Park card (gold star and veteran) card to get into the park entrance. Also, their building the new Presidential Library in Medora so you'll have to come back and visit. (You can park your camper at our cabin for free) I'd love to help cover the cost of cleaning the sap off your camper...where can I donate? Thanks again for your heart warming family review of Medora and hope you all can come back to visit again for the Champions Ride Rodeo and to see more of the badlands....there really is more to see and do! Safe travels and God Bless you and yours!
