Yep!!!! Been listening to Rock/metal for over 60 years and can say without a doubt, best rock band (male/female) I have heard in several decades...DPA/TWA
I know many people are impressed by how well Pau controls her breath, I just like to point out that Mexico City sits at a higher elevation that Denver Colorado. Denver is 5,280 feet above sea level and Mexico City is 7,350 feet above sea level, making the air even thinner. Viva The warning!
Try the old pat your stomach and rub your head routine. Very hard for most people. Now add in standing on one foot, tapping with the other foot and singing a song at the same time.. Pau is amazing.
As a 64 y.o. singing drummer/worship leader I won't say Dark Magic...but it is very difficult, and Pau's taught me a lot about drumming and singing WHILE drumming
The talent on display here never gets lost on me, as a performing musician, I am very aware just hard it is to do what they do, and they do it so effortlessly it is mind blowing. The future is so bright for these young ladies and I am glad I am that I get to be here for it. Awesome reaction!
I feel like dany took over lead vocals briefly during the second verse with pau doing the higher voice. You can hear more of the distinct rasp that dany has at this time
Pau's vocals always make me so emotional and I don't even know why, it's definitely not the lyrics. Something about her voice always touches me. She's amazing!
I totally agree with you that they were born to do this! You can see that they just love to perform and they have that "IT" factor! Pau is able to bring out your emotion and one of a very few that can give me tears when I listen to her emotional deliveries. Thank you so much for your reactions.
@@musikbyjh They played a short video as intermission of one of their concerts in Mexico celebrating 10 years as a band. From their channel: The Warning X Anniversary
Great reaction! I fall apart every time I watch this performance. Pau is just built different. She has been laser focused on her instrument for more than half her life. I watched everything available from these ladies and I can't remember Pau ever missing a beat while smiling, staring, and setting up groves that are the heartbeat of the band.. I'll bet she has played this song well over 1000 times so, muscle memory takes over and lets her tell her story. Her proud sisters know how amazing she is. They step back and let her kill it. Also, Pau has a technical side that she doesn't unleash very often. Her double kick is so perfect when she uses it. (Queen of the Murder Scene) And every cymbal grab is precise and super fast. I could go on and on. Where do you think she parks her spaceship? --- It is very hard to recommend the next tracks you should review but, Choke OMV, Animosity at CDMX, More MTV VMA, Materio OMV, Queen of the Murder Scene, Revenant... Just pick anything. New or old. It doesn't matter. All 3 sisters just shine.
Thanks for the great reaction, please keep them coming! Anything from Teatro Metropolitan is good, plus MTV”s 2 songs(1 is MORE) have the best quality!!😊⚡️
She might not be the best technically, but she is extremely good. Then add in her charm, charisma and vocal abilities and there is no one close to.her imo.
They always seem to put exactly what's needed into a song. And when they do it's magical. We saw them live in a small venue (700 max capacity) and they played like we were 70,000. Their talent, energy, power, and stage presence are off the charts. My nephew works at the venue, he got us backstage for part of the show and we got to meet them. Their manager Rudy and their stage crew are really protective of them, but they are nice, humble, down-to-earth people who love their fans. They all signed the hat and shirts that we bought and when I wear the hat people always ask about it. I then launch into a live human advertisement for them. I want everyone to hear The Warning so they can be as amazed and "Warned" as the rest of us.
They really know how to bring the emotions. Pau's lead vocals and Dany's backing high notes - and I agree, that great guitar riff and steady bass line puts it over the top with sonic emotion.
I recently watched video about what Pau does. She controls the lighting and video behind them as well as loading midi files into Dany's pedal box between songs. In addition to crazy good drumming and vocals.
We can see what you mean about Pau already, and we've only done four songs!! I have a great list going of next songs to react to from them...which is your fav?
@@musikbyjh The next one is my fav, then the next, now put on repeat - OK, but here is one of two - in spanish: The Warning - MARTIRIO Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/29/2022 ua-cam.com/video/xxkPTKyiSqY/v-deo.html
@@musikbyjh The 2017 TEDx version of "Survive" is my favorite, but the live version of "Survive" from the same concert as this "23" video is very good as well.
first time i heard 23, i said to myself. I wanna see her sing that and i saw that performance and it was spectacular that I can't get enough of it. Pau is amazing.
Great reaction, I never get enough of Pau singing while drumming! I also love the harmonies when any backing vocals kick in. Dany mostly plays her PRS guitars since she's a sponsored guitarist. If you want to see her play the custom Gibson Explorer that was gifted to her by Lzzy Hale last year when they were on tour, try UGH, QOTMS or Enter Sandman; all from the same concert.
Thank you for the shout out and the reaction! I am just so impressed with Pau being able to sing that strong, clear, and hard when they are playing this concert at 7,349 ft above sea level in a 1 hour 45 minute show and show no fatigue at all!!!
Nice Reaction! Pau is awesome singing the heavier rock songs like Dust to Dust, but she has a gift with her voice on songs like this and Revenant from the same concert. The Warning recently celebrated 10 years as a band with 3 concerts in Mexico. At the one in Mexico City they played a video on the big screen where the girls talked about the first 10 and what it all meant to them. It gets a little emotional, so you've been Warned! Not necessarily for a reaction, but just to see what they think about all that has happened to them. "The Warning X Anniversary"
They are just finishing their Error tour on December 8th with no announced shows till early February when they are on the Shiprocked cruise. They just announced a European headliner tour starting April 4th and finishing April 27th. 19 shows in 24 days very busy schedule. Hopefully their new Album will be released by then
When the song ends but you want it to continue? The Warning have a solution for you. Play it again! They discovered that answer because the song Dull Knives (Cut Better) commonly has this response.
If you are going to do “More” then do the live version from the VMAs as while the OMV is fine, The Warning is always better live. Note that “More” is a one off single that is more indie rock rather than the band’s usual classic rock sound and while it’s a good song it doesn’t stand out from the herd so much as their other songs. Some people were wondering if the next album might move in that direction but the two new songs that they have recently played live suggest that it will be more classic rock.
For me, the most impressive thing about Paulina is that she can sing expressively and perfectly while playing the drums at 110%. Most other lead singing drummers (there ain't a lot) play simple patterns at moderate volume so they can focus on their singing. Not Pau, she crushes it no matter what. 05:05
They're totally amazing! so talented! So good to watch you two together and loving the band as much as we all do! I know "More" is very much wanted...I just have to say please also do a reaction to "Z live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX Video. Such a magnificent performing! Best intro ever! Mucho amore desde Valencia
Love this song. Doing More is an awesome idea. Two songs they don't sing much live any more, but in my top ten are "Show me the light" and Crimson Queen.. Dany does a very sweet solo on show me the light. Just gets me emotional for some reason.
Beautiful song Pau is amazing 🔥 how about Dany singing back up and playing that sick slide on the PRS magic. Any song from this show as awesome but More from the VMAs is stunning. Thank you this was fun. 🤘⚡🔥
If you're interested, in an example of how they perform in even small venues, their cover of Metallica's "Atlas Rise" from the Whisky a GoGo in 2019 is a great example. They had already stopped doing covers but did this song for a friend/fan. They played this after a 2 + hour 22-song set. They were exhausted but still put on this performance. ua-cam.com/video/fhhG5EiFiyA/v-deo.html

It's amazing how deep Paulina gets into those songs. To be doing so much on those drums and to be digging so deep into the vocals is just so Pau-werful!
I know 23 isn't one of The Warning's more popular songs, but I absolutely love it. The lyrics and Pau's vulnerable vocals combine to dramatically affect my emotions.
You mentioned Ale using a pick. In this Error album Ale has started using a plck in more songs. The title song Error she switches from fingers to a pick 3 or four times. She uses a plck in Animosity, 23 and another one. Their brand new song they sang in Mexico this year she used a pick. Ale has said she keeps better time with a pick but using her fingers is easier for her but hurts more. I’ve seen the bassist for The Pretty Reckless switch also. I think it depends on what sound they are trying to get.
2:47 "That seem familiar". It's just like Kpop or Jpop (which they like), the music has a familiar feel, but they take familiar elements and make something brand new with it.
My vote is decidedly no for captions -- unless translation is needed. They're way too distracting! Lyrics can be viewed in a separate tab or printed out. Or looked up afterward if desired, which is my approach.
Ale plays certain songs with a pick (and at least one where she switches mid song between pick and fingers) because she feels the song needs to sound that way.
If you want to be even more impressed by Pau singing while playing drums, listen to her bass drum. She's doing various patterns, not just a steady rhythm-keeping thump thump thump.
This band isn't your typical big studio forced cookie cutter BS...they have their own sound and write their own music. I discovered them not long ago myself and now I own all three full length studio albums on CD direct from their own store on the internet. Now comes the task of spreading the word about this killer trio that drips with talent and absolute class, they are also perfect role models for young girls everywhere. Glad I can enjoy their music...it's so damn good.
On the subject of lyrics...A little BTS moment that Paulina has mentioned. She had originally written the lyric as "heart explode" and she had recorded it as such and was at home when she overheard her mother signing this song by herself. Mom sang it as "heart implode" and when Pau heard her she immediately, as she put it, raced back to the studio and changed the lyric to "implode". Now that is a nice example of a quiet mother-daughter influence. Take Care David
