This concert has one of the best audio mixes that I have ever heard! Man, the wall of sound these 3 sisters produce mind boggling! There's a reason they close their shows with Evolve! Thanks guys. Love Ninja saying, I need more volume. You guys Rock! The Warning Rock!!! ❤❤❤
Kinda reminds me of the audio mix for Dream Theater’s “Score” concert…everything is clear and perfectly balanced in the mix, and it sounds like you’re THERE at the show.
Once again, this is Rock and Roll at the highest level...much thanks to the Villarreal Sisters for bringing it back to life. Love the fun and excitement here from the 3 of you. There was an article published in the LA times...whoever they are, rating the top 24 songs of 2024 did not mention The Warning or for that matter not a single Rock song....just the usual ear assault "PoP" crap...thinking the crap music industry has a stake in that Rag. 🤣🤣😎😎
I recommend Matt watch the same tune, only the official video as well. It shows more of what Pau is doing behind the kit. Or, the MTV music awards version!Loved your reaction!! 🤘🕊❤️🤘 ⚡️⚡️⚡️ ✨
Nice reaction! You might want to check out Martirio from the same show - Teatro Metropolitan. Matt would like Pau's drumming in that song as well. I absolutely love the first section of the song with that creative drum beat. She writes such fantastic drum parts as well as many of the songs themselves. Thanks guys!
Also, The Warning covering Metallica's Atlas Rise, live from the Whiskey A Go Go in 2019 is a must see. They blow up the Whiskey at ages 19, 17, amd 14. Still blows my mind. I'd love to see your reactions to the last cover song they ever played!! ❤❤❤
close but only by a few days... they were 18, 16, and 14... it took place between Ale's and Dany's birthdays with Pau's being about a week after Dany's...
Pau said in a video showing how to play this song, that the post-chorus riff is in 7/8, so as I am not a musician, I can't say if she misspoke or not, but that is what she said.
*Evolve* one thing that really i like about this particular concert at Teatro Metropolitan (Metropolitan Theater) back in 2022 and the footage from it is that you can see Pau preparing herself for an iconic part of this song... there is a camera looking at her from beneath the cymbals on her right... watch Pau closely... you can see her looking down, taking a deep breath, shaking her head, and firing her immensely powerful *_"Scream of Evolution"_* toward the heavens releasing her frustrations and pain so she can grow past them and *Evolve* 😜... it is one of the best recorded views of this action she does while drumming as passionately as she does... she even describes her scream in similar way in one of their vlogs... Pau brings it for real each and every time they present this hard rocking power ballad in concert or live sessions... Pau (drums) came up with *Evolve* after watching a documentary about evolution and gene manipulation... this isn't the first time she has drawn inspiration from a TV show or movie, either... Fun Fact: Pau has three screams/yells that she does... the first, most well known, one in *Evolve* , one in *Z* , and the other in *Hunter* ... Fun Fact: during soundchecks, she's been known to use a much less powerful "Waaaaaaaaaa!" instead of "The Scream"... gotta save that scream for use at the proper times, ya know? 😹 TWA ⚡🤘😸🤘⚡ TWA
Thanks for sharing this. This is a good live performance, but man I wish you had done the GOLD standard for this song live, The MTV VMA 2023 performance. 🙂 I hope can watch that one on his own. Pau's command of the audience and her scream in that one was EPIC. And Dany was on another level that night too. All of them! Just a crazy good performance.
Great reaction as always! Also THE WARNING & BAND-MAID just performed together in Japan last night. They did a collaboration, both bands on stage together to close the show, just from phone video clips on UA-cam it looked awesome! You must react to the collaboration between the Warning and Band Maid from last night in Tokyo. I was there, and it was EPIC! Here's the link to the best available so far! ua-cam.com/video/vsQqmeDSyYA/v-deo.html The Warning rocked the house! Then Band Maid amazed. Nice Reaction Matt! Oh, and Jeremy and Jillian too! LOL! The Warning is in Japan right now, from June 12 -14 for 3 shows. The first show is already done and it was the show with Band Maid! There has been a video released already of them onstage with Band Maid (crowded stage) singing an upcoming song from Band Maids new album.
Hey Guys! I can tell Matt knows his stuff. Yes, they went into 7/4 for 4 measures, so if you keep bobbing your head, it comes back around on time when they go back into 4/4. Very clever! You should show Matt their song "23" from this concert! Pau, singing lead like a BOSS while wailing on the drums!
Loved all the energy with you all 3. You should show him Disciple, Dust to Dust and 23 from Teatro Metropolitan. Also, Dull Knives from The Cave De(Tour).
It would be fantastic to see the 3 react to the MVO of "Automatic Sun" at the Tecate P'al Norte Festival, where Pau stands out with her drum attacks... Although there Pau only harmonizes. Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️
You should show Matt , Pau singing lead and playing at the same time. I'll ad my vote for "Dust To Dust" from this show, you haven't reacted to it yet either.
I remember hearing a 30 second clip of “Evolve” before it was released which contained part of the first chorus and into the 7/8 riff. I was immediately caught by the odd time signature and quickly worked out that it was in 7. It’s one reason that this song is one of my favourites. I do like a lot of progressive rock and metal with changing meters. If you think that this is hard to count, try counting Tool’s “Pneuma”. 😅
When talking about energy, and being animated, it is worth noting that Evolve is their encore song. This was the last song they played at the concert. Matt needs to see Narcisssista at Foro Didi. This was the live debut of the song, and he gets to see and hear Pau as basically the front woman while behind the drum kit. ua-cam.com/video/O7IAEhN4RMM/v-deo.html Oh, and she was 17 at the time.
Please have him react to Narcissa and Disciple from the same concert. I think he will enjoy Pau out from her kit and on stage with her sisters as a front woman.🎸🤘🏻
DUST TO DUST would be a great one for him to see… But if you want time signature changes check out RUSH-SPIRIT OF RADIO. They change time signatures 7-8 times in the first 2 minutes of the song! I remember reading that they play a 17/8 (!) time in one of their songs (can’t remember which one…)
Granted that Matt being a drummer he doesn’t have to see the video to recognize particular sounds kind of you touched on some but remember that the first time you guys watched a performance and had a comment, you typically would pause but if you both jump and talk to Matt while the songs continues, he may get distracted and even he might miss some subtle nuances especially with Pau that wouldn’t be missed if he’s 100% focused. One example, which is another Matt would like, is Disciple at Teatro Met. where Pau demonstrates her ability to sing with an awesome simultaneous drum roll/fill. I’ve seen two other reactors who completely missed that cuz they took their eyes off the video part that showed it but had they seen it, would have certainly commented not realizing Pau’s performance prowess while singing. Just offering some constructive criticism but it’s your channel so please take my comments merely as suggestion only for the sake of maximizing Matt’s experience of “being Warned”. ⚠️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Great constructive critique. Catching all the details in a song is usually something that takes many, many listens to get. I think we try to find a balance between focus but also insight and reaction in the moment. Thanks for watching 😊
@@DreadDrum I was only mentioning when showing Matt for the first time. I agree on the multiple views part. That even holds true for liking sone songs more. For instance I like Animosity so much more now after I focused more on Ale’s play versus Pau and Dany especially her prominent bass slide at the end which is so rockstar of her.
as much as I love this song and Pau's scream if you're going to show off The Warning to a drummer I truly believe it should have been Disciple because of the sweet drum fills while she is singing but is should be the live at the Teatro Metropolitan because that one has the best shots also her bouncing on her stool during Ale's double bass slide, but that's just my opinion.
Well, the part that skips before re-entering the verse is just back to 4/4. I would like some clarification, though. I have learned the bass part, and everywhere I've seen it transcribed shows the bridge in 7/8. Even Dany has mentioned it in an interview clip I've seen. I've also researched it and found it more conventional to write this particular part in 7/8 vs 7/4 because of the structure the song takes. (7/4 would be confusing to read because of 14 1/8th notes strung together 🤦♂️). Please provide your thoughts.
@jonathanspahn7308 there is another comment in here where we discuss this further. But essentially, Jeremy and I landed on that 7/8 at 88 BPM and 7/4 at 176 BPM are technically interchangeable. But if Pau and the band have said it’s in 7/8 then most likely the whole song is in 4/4 and 7/8 at 88 BPM. But ultimately it comes down to personal preference
Also, to your point, during the 4/4 parts, if they are at 88 BPM, then one measure is the exact length of the riff/pattern as opposed to the riff being spread out over 2 measures of 4/4 at 176, so it does make a little more musical sense to use the slower tempo
@@DreadDrum Thank you for your input. That's pretty much how I see it, except it's reversed as the transcripts I've seen and played from show quarter-note = 175. It's easier to read, I find, if 7/8 is used 🤘
The Warning are hands down one of the very best live bands on the planet today!

@@DreadDrum Matt in the HOUUUUSSSEEEE!!!!! ❤🥷🏻

I think the drum duet Pau did on Hot Like A Girl would be a good one for him to watch. I realize you guys have moved maybe a remote reaction stream.
Hi guys, that's it right there, Power. Show Matt xxi century blood, for a bit of context. Cheers people.
as much as I love this song and Pau's scream if you're going to show off The Warning to a drummer I truly believe it should have been Disciple because of the sweet drum fills while she is singing but is should be the live at the Teatro Metropolitan because that one has the best shots also her bouncing on her stool during Ale's double bass slide, but that's just my opinion.
Creo que la mejor versión de Evolve fue en los VMAS de Mtv...se te caerá la quijada con lo que hace Pau
💥🤯🤘🎶✌️
Love you guys but how the heck you didn't do the VMA's version is beyond me. JMO but that one far outshines this one.
It’s 7/4 because the tempo of the pulse doesn’t change from the 4/4
@jonathanspahn7308 there is another comment in here where we discuss this further.
It's easier to read, I find, if 7/8 is used 🤘
🤘🤘
Took me like 1 sec until i like Matt xD
