My 1989 HM Strat had an auto-latch in the case that the previous owner never installed. Thanks to this and your following video, I installed it and set it myself. Great channel and freakin' BEAUTIFUL Carvin!!!!
As a pro bass player, I've been using Carvin since 1992. Still use nothing but Carvin ( now Kiesel), the family name. Although Carvin was named after the two eldest sons CARson and gaVIN. Everything on my basses are stock. Never had a need to change anything out.
I agree, it’s great stuff. Did you know Sabian is also a combination of names? So is Dava. I told Gary Kahler about Kiesel needing to change the name and he never knew, the minute I said Gavin it all made sense as Gavin was who he dealt with in the 80s and 90s.
@@mariosangermano Sally, Billy, and Andy. I believe Andy is currently the president and still can’t publicly say his last name is Zildjian. I have a lot of respect for everything Jeff Kiesel has done to really let everyone know that their brand is a top choice. He’s done a great job.
Auto Latch is kinda genius actually, like a Sophia 30 years earlier and that’s a bad ass Carvin right there Bruh . Digging the Cobra Blue Shelby blue whatever it looks great with that assuming ebony board.
@@brandonjackson5865 I think the reason they never sent me anything is because that was right when I started working with Kahler and Geoffrey McCabe and Gary Kahler had a bit of a falling out.

I always wanted a Carvin, but for some strange reason, never bought one. A friend of mine who's also playing high-end guitars told me that it's the only brand that he never tinkered with...they're already amazing. Maybe I should part ways with my Prs and get one.
@@REXYLAB yeah, i'll contact my friend and see if i can borrow his for a few days. My Prs is great, but has more a traditional feel (I like more modern). When i really want that, it play my LP
The top E string on the old carvings with Floyd's damn near falls off fret board .. all the ones I saw all have a e string that's almost off the fretboard.. that's why you want to get the ones with the kahler 2200
That pickup system has alot of unique sounds; it lacks clarity for good high gain tones and shredding but the middle position tone options are too cool to replace the pickups imho
I was excited by your excitement.
Exciting times we live in!
Wow what a find. I cant wait to see it all buttoned up. I used to day dream about Carvins!
Me too! I got the catalogs all the time and just dreamed about having one.

It took some time setting it up but the auto-latch really works. 👍 @@REXYLAB
I'm in love with that S540 hanging in the back. Those things are sweet.
Which one?
I also have an H&S S540 that is damaged and waiting to be repaired.
I can see why the original owner didn’t try to fix it himself - that’s some seriously complex wiring! Nice score!
I totally love this thing! Funny enough it just needed the jack tightened. I did the rest just to make sure it was perfect!
This is great content it’s added to my weekly watches
Fantastic! That makes me so happy.
Wow awesome, although that wiring probabyl connects you directly to the ISS spacestation if you wanted
Yeah, this one is complicated.
