Hey Kev. Welcome to the new year!! Nice to see you I just passed my AWS CCP exam. Just from your motivation with tech field. I'm new to tech & just taking whatever position I can to get my foot in the door. Like Destop Support or System. I figure once I get more experience I'll start working as a cloud engineer, what my AWS CCP exam qualify me for
I'm tuned in to your videos your awesome Kev.... Thanks for your knowledge videos !!😊😊
Nice work. Good luck.
My man!
thanks.
Keep up the good work bro!
Thanks brother.
I am trying to work on skills to apply for a soc analyst role. My college degree did not focus much on IT fundamentals and you made me realize how crucial it is and now I have to work on myself to fill in the gaps. Especially a home lab which seems to be one of crucial thing I need to experience. Thank you for your continuous advice!!
Project work or home labs are always helpful.
Love to start building my LinkedIn profile but I'm in the UK so I'm not sure it would help to share on here ha
a lot of helpdesk jobs will hire you without any IT experience as long as you have a lot of customer service experience, stay patient and keep applying. Obviously keep going for certs but don't let not having a cert stop you from applying.
it goes back to the company. You may or may not need a cert. I have worked with over 600 students and so of these jobs care about certs.
“I have a mindset of being poor” Kevtech
Me too brother lol
haha
So are most cyber security positions looking for some coding or degrees? Not the first time hearing/seeing this.
You might need a degree in cybersecurity. Some jobs in soc don't need a degree. They might ask for security+
I am a level 2 help desk. My goal is being a Junior system administrator and beyond. What course I can take to become that? Do you have any advice or do you have courses I can take to start the process?
Do research. Figured out when skills you need for the next role and add those skills to the resume and start applying for jobs. You may or may not need a cert.
I got offered help desk as well as data tech? Which would you recommend to start off?
Depends on the pay, company culture, team members, etc.
Hi there Kevin, I have 13 years experience with help desk and desktop support and onsite support. I make around 60-70k but want to make more and get into something better like cloud engine or sccm engineer what should I do can you please help me out please want to make more money. I am trying to get a new job by next march when my contract is up where I work now is not much opportunity for growth.
might want to look at learn to cloud gps youtube channel. She has a bunch of videos on this. Look at her website too learntocloud.guide/
@@KevtechITSupport Thanks for the tip I will study this free training. by the way I just sign up for your highest tier membership I am aiming to get a new job that pays more by next march.
Are you the same person in last videos😮
Yep. Which video?
Hey kev tech thanks for the advice and the good content you always share with us.
I have a question related to the active directory we use domain admin credentials every time we want to do administration stuff like software installation in our clients mechines we know it’s not good for security we are looks a solution any help?
using admin rights is fine if you work IT Support. Just need approval from security first.
Thanks kev
Hi Kevin. Thank you for the content. You are so extremely helpful to me! I’m a college student trying to break into IT. I have a question related to LinkedIn. I am trying to connect with you and others but it only has the friend option. Do you know what that is?
Why that is* sorry!
@Tammie Halfacer you have to go directly to my page and click 3 dots to add me on LinkedIn. You can't just click on me because I have a lot of followers. Adding me changes once you get more followers. Same goes with other people on LinkedIn.
If I am new to IT and I know I want to go into cyber security, do you suggest I go straight for the SEC+ or start at the A+
If your new. Read a+ so security+ makes sense.
Hello Teacher I m very new in IT..

Recently got laid off, i have no certs but have a boatload of experience in the helpdesk space.... my main problem is i get paid more doing contract work pressing f12 but when i apply for helpdesk/sysadmin roles i get paid way below wtf is happening
lot of companies are hiring contract to hire roles right now. The job market still hiring but it will take time to find a good company.
