How theft-proof is the battery pack mounted on the bike? Do I have to take it with me (3 Kg) every time I park my bike somewhere? Lot's of happy videos on UA-cam about this bike, but nobody talks about this subject.
Very very interesting design! I do think that placement of the battery is not ideal for center of gravity. But the dealbreaker here is that the battery pack cost 900€ that is just bonkers, 700 would have been a lot, 600 also up there but approaching a reasonable price. 900 is absurd. Im aware it also houses a speed controller but still, 900 is way too much
The removable integrated power-pack is cool. Would prefer front wheel drive , or mid motor combined with internal gear hub (Shimano) over a crappy derailleur tho. Would add weight but still.........Anyway, Cheers guys, nice vid 👍
Really like the switchable hub idea, I'm the kind of rider who would ride without the power pack at times for exercise... Being able to add the power module, even having a spare is also important to me. I could see doing really long day trips with assist at times(occasionally need to rest the knees...). Might be nice to add a rack on the back for panniers or power packs. One could get some serious range with a combo of a regular pack and a couple of super booster packs! I would go for the chain drive, multi gear, shock absorbing seat post. Oh, really enjoyed the side trip to Berlin! Wow is it impressive to look at Berlin on Google maps and switch to the bike trails view.
I like the feature of switching between electric and manual. That would be so useful for times when the battery is very low. I have the ADO A20F and that is incredibly difficult to ride without any battery power. The resistance feels like being on a stepper in the gym.
Im on the fence about this one. With most of the lightweight rear hub bikes, you don't feel any resistance when you ride it without assistance. I mean, isn't this one of the main features of hub drives over mid-drives? So i don't know why this switching would be necessary. Some german reviews even said, they feel no difference when they switch modes on the Lemo. But hey - worst case it´s an unnecessary feature you'll never use - it doesn't make the bike any worse 😀
Wait, what happens exactly when an ebike dies? I thought it just turns into a regular bike? Will I only experience the resistance when the battery is super low and when the battery dies completely it's back to normal pedalling?
I have bought ADO A20+. I used 50km and less than 5km on battery. I can say it's a very good bike without the power. I had to use power for a long uphill.
Its that the smartpac, which contains all of the electronic elements and the battery, is the size of a laptop. We were trying to be clever, Rob. But you can be the judge of that.
The step-thru isn't a step-thru. It's a step-over. It would be nice if LEMMO made a true step-thru. Most importantly, VanMoof is riddled with software problems and they're coasting on their reputation. The LEMMO must work without any, electronic, digital, or software issues whatsoever. All electric bikes should work like a toaster. Good luck to LEMMO.
@@Electroheads It's also not just about smaller in height. True step-thru is for urban commuters, ladies in dresses or for people in nice slacks who don't want to stretch their legs over the top tube. A step-thru is easy for mounting and dismounting and makes it easier to plant your feet on the ground at stoplights and when loading up groceries.
Test drove both frame types today and agree with all you've said. This really is a gem of a bike....actually prefer the style of the ST version over the top tube one. Great review.
I get what you mean by the battery pack being smaller than a laptop, but aren't there also many other e-bikes with a removable battery that would fit into a backpack?
Ten years ago a 'red dot award' was really something special. If you want a red dot award today, you can apply for it. Applying costs a lot, so not many quality brands even bother, only new brands; simply as a marketing tool. Great features though: battery pack that comes off the bike, rear wheel motor and a clean design. What's the point of the controller attached to the battery? Just put it in the frame. The price is so-so for this Chinese built bike. All the components are specific for this bike, so if it breaks .... good luck! Is the battery tested (ECE-approval) or can they explode while charging? The energy of 540Wh = about four hand-grenades!
Great video, really enjoyed watching you ride round those car-empty streets, such a great place to cycle. Bike is brilliant, Euros 900 for the elec-pak, hmmm... Good to see start-ups and grateful to you for taking the time out to show us new stuff.
Hmm yeah I guess it might help me get home to be able to remove the resistance from the motor, nice idea. However the step-through version? Yeah for me that would be a 'trip over' version 😂 still looks a bit high for me to get my leg over...ooh matron! I tried to phrase that better, honest😅😂 Nice looking bike and I really do like the fact that you can repurpose the battery during and after it's use on the bicycle is diminished. Go on then, i dont think you told us the price just that the guys had tried to make it affordable...? 👍
*Overweight people should love that option for manual peddling. Once you run out of physical energy, then you switch it to electrical assistance to get back home.*

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
Good looking bike. Sounds great to ride. I like the alarm feature, though if you remove the battery, am I right in thinking the alarm will not function? I am on the look out for an track and bridle way bike. I have seen a video of an EMTB gearbox (12 speed) and motor unit. If you could do a review of that? That would be great.
No good if you live in the UK, as they have no idea if or when they might step into the UK market, really think it would of been helpful for this to be mentioned in the vid
Step thru? lets see you step through that frame. Carbon forks er no! Excellent video clip of you bouncing over the road imperfections on that hardtail design. Fortunately full suspension ebikes exist with true long distance capabilities. A whole new class of bikes with SUV designation can be found from many of the ZEG brands.
Not sure about resistance with rear hub motors when not using the powered system, I’ve had two completely different types consecutively (1000w and 350w) and there is no resistance whatsoever. Mid-drive, yes there is mechanical drag, but nothing perceivable at all on rear hub. Regarding terminology neither acoustic or analogue is appropriate for referencing conventional cycles, they are both ridiculous in equal measure.
@@Electroheads no just making a point as I bought a Windgoo B20 Pro it's as dead as a door nail and since taking it out of the box the nightmare has never worked..
