      Can I ask, do aircraft techs notice that 17 Apollo missions filmed zero stars? Because every industrial sector drinks Kool aid and I'm looking for a career change but I'm tired of zombies.

    G10 is kinda like fiberglass, but much better. The fiber is woven and uses a specific epoxy in laminated layers. It is very stable and resistant to a lot of heat (though not fire retardant), chemicals, abrasion... and is very stiff when in sheet form, and stronger than aluminum IMO. It stays stiff and flat and is easily machinable. We machined a lot of parts for the military out of G10, where a very light weight material could be substituted for steel, and it is way cheaper and easier to machine than titanium for a comparable strength when used properly. A lot of gun grip panels are made from it for various reasons including ease of making it different colors, but I like it because the checkering is SHARP and almost bites your hands. Great for shooting with sweaty hands on an Arizona summer day.

    I was almost sold on the pistol tool. The proprietary bits is a deal breaker for me tho. For what I would use it for I would need to change up some of the bits

    Those are great multi tools ⚒️ bravo 👏
    But i wish i have those while using it on the line maintenance,
    Right now, Im using the basic Gerber multiplier 600, still tough on doing things if you forgot your tools in the tool room 😂

      I'm still not a big fan of multi tools for line or hangar work, just don't like a heavy tool on my belt, however I will say that I was truly impressed with these

    I don't own guns or service aircraft, but I do work at a farm and I have to say the toolset is quite appealing. I also just like well designed stuff in general

    Unauthorized tool when I was a Mx tech in the Air Force. But I still had a leather man ;)

      It's an unauthorized can opener in most airlines too but that doesn't stop anyone from having them on their belt lol

      The bracket type that you had to buy separately? I am looking for one that isn't over $150!

    A little late to this conversation, but yeah, that's an odd size for the bits. Both of my rotary screwdrivers are for one quarter inch bits, which surprised me a little since I would have expected the newest one to be a round number of millimeters. But I guess 6.35 mm was also easy to design for.

    • @TheAircraftTechnician
      @TheAircraftTechnician  Рік тому

      Never too late to make a comment! 6.35mm equals to 1/4" so that's pretty standard. It's the oddball sizes that get me!

    Pistol took for the price looks great if it wasn't for the proprietary bits.

      It's a beast nonetheless, but I'm hoping @RealAvid reads all these and makes this great tool even better

    The gun tool max looks like a great tool even if not used for guns.If it had a saw would make it even better.

      It sure is, these are quality built, though slightly larger than your average Leatherman.

    Hey Boss, I just caught a video on the GOAT multitool. I immediately thought of you, as this is easily the most clever design to date, and you can make your tool custom to your specific needs, including (in my mind) designing your own specialty blades and features for very unique applications, such as aircraft repair. You gotta check it out.

    With some adjutments these gun tool might be multi purpose.
    Pin tools are more useful than just removing gun pins.
    I do think the plier based ones are quite close to the classic approach, however the last one could have a rachet wrench, a ratchet wrench with low profile sockets to fit the wrench.

    • @TheAircraftTechnician
      @TheAircraftTechnician  9 місяців тому

      Yes!!!! That's what I'm talking about

      @@TheAircraftTechnician I wish manufacturers think more about technicians of all sorts because a multitool approach to certain sort of tools might be a good way to have a compact tool box / pouch.
      There is interesting stuff like some bit drivers but I think while there great stuff, I believe there things to be explored.

    It could have been perfect with standard bits 😢

    I do NOT want these tools if they are using them to make Boeing airplanes. Those airplanes are falling apart midair.
