Very nice. Your Dreyfus Hudson has Boxpok drivers. Spoked drivers look more like a wagon or bicycle wheel. Other than spoked wheels, modern, high-speed steam engines used Boxpok, Scullin Disc, Baldwin Disc and Universal Disc wheels. Your Empire State Express engine has Scullin Disc, as you mentioned. As far as crew talk goes, in Toledo, the West bound 20th Century would only detrain and East bound would only embark. Either way, that Hudson is one gorgeous locomotive. As always, an excellent video.
Very nice introduction of the MTH Dreyfuss Hudson, Zach. Love the dark gray paint colour more than the light gray tone Lionel has chosen for its recent release. More proto-typical, IMO. I thought you mentioned that the gray Dreyfuss didn't like the O54 curves, yet it looked like it did just fine with the consist of U.S. Army Redcross transport cars? Well, it was a fantastic run seeing the two Hudsons cruising the rails at the same time.
Nice. Is the chuff rate set to 4? Tony says always use 4. If you set the chuff rate higher on a diesel the motor makes faster running noises. It's fun to experiment with. The big tenders are heavy. Maybe why it doesn't pull as well. They made like 8 tender variations. Some of the PT tenders have doors that partially cover the coal load.
If you like art deco, that Dreyfus is hard to beat. Very nice loco. I have one I had converted from proto clunk to ps2 3v. I believe that era was tough to beat considering all. MTH tethers are not the best feature of their line. The new wireless drawbars are garbage. Very poor qc on connector/wires. Like you, I love my Dreyfuss with the matching p-cars. Great job getting the gremlins slayed. Best wishes. Thomas
What's odd is, my Lionel legacy ESE Hudson pulls way better than my new Lionel Dreyfus Hudson. My Lionel Dreyfus is my worst puller in my collection which is odd being Lionels engines as of late are some of the best pullers Ive seen. Maybe its a Dreyfus curse??
Does it? It might just be! LOL, yea that is odd, but sounds similar to the Hudson’s here. It really is weird. Maybe they were built on a Monday morning/Friday afternoon…
Great Video as always. But to be Honest, I'll take this Hudson over any Articulated Engine. Just my opinion of course. I wish we had this Deyfuss in S Scale though!
They Dreyfuss is one of my favorite locomotives.
We plan to do an unboxing and run session real soon for ours, a very new buy for us.
I have exactly zero complaints about the one that we preordered and received in November. It truly is an incredible locomotive. @@TheTrainboard
Can’t believe how far you have come with your videos. Great job.
Came to the comments as fast as I could and I am actually surprised there was no wars in the comments! Love that engine Zac looks good!

Real nice repair and cleanup. Your colors are far superior to the new lighter colored version. Gary

Thanks Tom! 🥃🍻 she’s running on O72 in the vid. Hopefully with the new setup this engine will get some better run time
hello Zach & it's it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks Zach & Friends Randy
Amazing train
Nice job 👍👍👍👍love that engine
Hello Zach - another great production. What is the brand of your army passenger cars?
It looks nice, but why did they put that big cennipede tender on it? 🤔 ❤
Nice locomotive! I'm going to be ballasting my realtrax pretty soon - what product do you use for your ballast?
Thanks! I use scenic express’s #20 ballast. They offer it in a few different variations. The gray colors mix very well with the realtrax roadbed
odometer I learned something I had no idea TY
Beautiful engine Zach. Such a shame NYC scrapped all the Hudsons right?
For real! What were they thinking??

Thanks Gary! Believe it’s set to 4/ per rev. I haven’t messed with it, could be off? It is a heavy tender for sure

Well, at least the color looks something close to accurate on this one.
It’s really a pretty locomotive, Zach but have you solved the pulling issue or is it just the nature of the beast?
Thanks, Ron
Thanks Ron! Just seems to be the nature of the beast. Nothing else to really do to it
Oh yeah!!!
I enjoyed it
