Zac, looking at the layout from your panning with the camera, it looks like you could put in a nice y turnoff & return back to outer loop on new layout.
Hey Zac, new layout coming along. Looking good. Do you have plans, & it's not too late, to connect to thee existing layout letting trains run entire room.
Moving right along, Zach. Making your vision come to life must be a very satisfying adventure. I can't wait for the next installation of this project...I'm really looking forward to what you have in store. Thanks for the update.
Even though your layout is huge compared to my 4x8 I am learning things. Thanks for taking the time to show building progress. I am building a late steamers around two Railking Imperial steam locomotives. A Santa Fe 4-8-4 and 4-6-2 plus Santa Fe heavy weight Madison cars. Your swing bridge is very cool. Thanks for the wiring pointers.
Looks like you are satisfied with the progress. I would not have left the only access to rear of layout through a window. But it probably will be ok. Good luck with the rest of construction
I'm new to your channel . I'm new to trains also . I had a small set up for Christmas every year . retired I have some time to do a train set up . I'm trying to come up a plan for a 4 by 8 . ill be looking at your videos from the past to help me . thanks
For the mountain road I have a possible suggestion. Place some train track running from either end, build up the terrain so the rails are as flush as possible to the ground, maybe have a tunnel at both ends. This would be a good place for a motorized truck or pickup truck to run back and forth on a timer. Or even just an automated reversing trolly. Definitely interested in seeing how this mountain shapes up.
I like “Twin Peaks”, good job!!! LOL I also like the idea of a small town between them but I know this is all in the early stages and anything can change. Have fun with it, Ron
Dear Zach, love the way you showed the progress on the new layout section. Are you going to connect these loops to the existing part of your tracks? Even without a track connection, I think this configuration is a pretty good example of the way O-scale can be done even in a tight space. Like those mountains going up, still kind of abstractly supported by the oddly shaped press board form pieces. Clear plan on the access hatch through the window. Looking forward to seeing your next progress! Cheerio
Thanks for the update, Zack. The layout coming along well and looks great. A good plan isn’t executed in a day especially when you have to work. The moon looks good where it’s at-I have no doubt you’ll pull it together when it’s all complete. I really like your storm cloud you did so I know you tie everything in.
Hi Zach & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Zach & Friends Randy & Super Cool & New O Gauge Layout Thanks Zach & Good Friends Randy
Very nice! The mountains are cool and the old Lionel towers fit right in. It will be nice to see the tunnels and second level complete As far as wiring goes, four drops are pretty adequate, as long as the track connections are tight. When I was mocking-up my layout, I got away with two connections on the outer main, which is pretty long on my 24x18 L layout, with little problem. An excellent video, for sure. Keep the updates coming.
Wasn’t expecting to see that mountain there!!!! Great idea man, looks awesome so far! Keep up the good work, you’ve inspired me to really get working on my layout
I think it's coming along great. I'm glad you are happy with it. That's what really matters. Can't wait to see the next phase. I'm also impressed with how the cloud is holding up. I know it's been there for quite some time. When you first did it I was concerned with gravity over time and sagging but it still looks great. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Honestly, I’m surprised they’ve lasted as good as they have too. Had to fix/glue a couple spots that sagged, and have 2 spots that need it now, but after that I Haven’t had to touch it again. Also surprised they haven’t faded or got discolored with the use of the smoke units/what not.
Nice Upgrade On The Layout I have Been Busy I Have Been Laying Tile On The wall On the N Scale Room.then I Will Finishing The Trackwork then I shall Be Done I’m Proud Of What I’m Doing .
You're in Jacksonville Florida so am I I'm in the South Side area just started pulling out some of my old trains getting ready to set things up for the holidays😂
@@CountryBunkersTrains happy fourth to you also I am looking forward to the 13th in Deltona train show it'll be the first one I went to in years going to try to find some fast track
Just make sure you can access all parts to the Miller Engineering sign. The pattern / on/off board can go bad as well as the sign. The airport beacon looks good on the mountain. The other one? Not so good. Maybe a tower with a blinking light. Hey, just my thoughts. The table looks great.
Good to know, thank you! Hoping to hang it as close to the window as I can for access in the future. I just ordered the wall wart for it, to get rid of the battery pack. These signs seem to really chew through batteries!
No, still has the slow original breakers/hardware inside. I wasn’t too concerned with it, it no trains will be running on it, only some light bulbs really.
They did offer the building with a loading dock. Unfortunately it was too tall to include it in this spot under the shelf. Do agree, it would look a little better!

Your layout is really taking shape 👍🏻✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
When I see the two mountains, I think of the old tin type cable cars that run on string to go between them😊 looks great
That could be something to add to them 🤔🤔 might have to look into that! Thanks!

Rocky mtn high looks great
Love the two buildings between the two mountains reminds me a little of the Waltons general store just need a John boy and Ike lol
lol very true! Didn’t think about that! Thank you!
Looks good. I would put switches on the loops so the trains come switch between the different tracks. Maybe add a siding as well
Nice add with both the beacon tower and Floodlight towers on the mountain tops

Nice layout update, Zac. Cool PBR sign! Send some rain our way, we could use it.
I really like the way you conquered the hinge problems with the lift up bridge nice work 👍😃🚂

Man it looks great! Makes me excited to one day build my layout!
Appreciate that! Thank you! I’m sure you’ll have one soon
Those must be the mountains John Denver was always singing about lmao Looking great!
The ocean he crashed into is just beyond the peaks of the very same hills….

Thank you sir!
The paint color plus the grass color on the mountains looks exactly like a chia pet
😂🤣 it does!!
@@CountryBunkersTrains is there going to be a interchange with a interlocking like loop to loop.
Paint the moon up like the death star
Did the circuit breaker get the modern upgrade in the vintage transformer.
No, still has the slow original breakers/hardware inside. I wasn’t too concerned with it, it no trains will be running on it, only some light bulbs really.
Hey great vid, I might have missed it, but what is the size of this layout?
Thank you! It’s roughly 9.5’ wide and 16’ deep at its longest next to the other layout.
Hey Zach!!! You are Genuine!!! Not politically correct and show off like other channels!!!!
Thank you for the kind words! And thank you for watching!
Put some Halloween Haunted Houses on the Upper Level.
Turn moon into Death Star.......Why not
How about raising the buildings up onto a platform so your trains can make deliveries?
They did offer the building with a loading dock. Unfortunately it was too tall to include it in this spot under the shelf. Do agree, it would look a little better!
