Gill net on the beach - Coastal Survival - Fraser Christian. When and Where to use a gill net in a coastal location, also prawn traps from beach rubbish bottles.
Trinidad and Tobago is the best country in the world we can fish with anything thing legal and we can can catch how many fish we want and cook how many we want !
Good to see a couple of new videos Fraser. I needed a bit of a refresher on nets after your great talks at the 2011 Bushmoot. Was this shot near your place in Dorset? Geoff
Hi how do i contact you for a course or just to have a go? looks like great fun, im in dorset, south coast, I have a zodiac rib so got a toy to play with, gonna make a gill net tomorrow, excellent tip you show for prawns, gonna give that a go also, thanks for the really interesting video, more of please, cheers, all the best, (Mike)
you need a licence now to do anything like this, also you can add as many floats as you like but if your net hasn't the depth then it will not float up any higher, in reality you want your net on the bottom to catch brown crab and lobster, if your net is floating on the surface this will then catch salmon n sea trout and then your up at court for poaching migration fish and anything you have used to get to the beach ie car etc will be removed from your position, so please contact your local water fisheries officer, deffra etc for more info.
Maybe once the Spanish etc have been excluded there might at last be some decent fish round our shores again . Maybe the British should start eating fish and not just fish fingers . Good way to protect our fishing industry .
is gill netting still legal in the uk around the welsh coasts? i have tried google but its just full of cry baby fishermen who only catch dog fish and whine about it all the time.

hi nice vid how do i know what direction the tide comes in at if i am fishing on a west facing sandy beach as i cant tell from just looking any ideas
So basically if a fish swims into a wall of Gill net it is bound to get trapped?
Less talk more fishing ....,...geeez!
@5:07 Not a monumental meal :\ haha make I laff! BIG PLUS on the prawns being top Bass bait around rocky coasts.
Hello, Do you have an advice on how to roll up a gill net for storage, without it getting tangled? I cant find any info on the internet about it.
We are doing new videos soon, will include that, cheers!
Hi mate, do you need a license for this?
where is this?
