@@TheFishLocker Three weeks later and the world is closing down because of the corona virus. What is totally baffling to me is how many online are complaining that they don't know what they're gonna do with their kids unexpectedly out of school for three weeks or more. [We just closed our schools for three weeks in our province]. I do not understand the dilemma. We would have celebrated an unexpected 3 weeks of kidlet being home. So many things to explore on our little plot of land, lots of free time to spend in the kitchen as we delve into different ways to cook out of the pantry, all the arts & crafts supplies waiting to be opened and big projects tackled, so many things to do. I was always surprised when Kidlet's friends would remark "my parents don't do stuff like this" after we spent an afternoon learning how to build different kinds of fires for cooking, heat, banking for overnight etc. It makes me sad to read "These kind of parent/child relationships are rare these days".

omg I can't get enough of these coastal foraging videos - please keep making them regularly! if you desire video ideas, if you can make one focusing on shellfish like the crabs and lobsters, that would be SO dope. Don't know how I ended up on your channel but I'm glad UA-cam did it's thing!
- Thank you very much Bailey, we definitely intend on keeping making the videos, the only thing that holds us back is the winter weather unfortunately. But we will be doing them when we can. :)
The Fish Locker we will be sticking around for better weather! Keep doing you! 👍🏼
Very educational too just Amazing and You have a Sweet little Family 😃

Dublin Angling - Thank you very much. Just sharing a day on the beach. You lads have some stunning coastline over your side. I’d love to see a similar video 👍🏻🐚🌿🦀
Hannah that dish you made on the last video looked delicious. Nice seeing your whole family on this video. The possibilities are endless for you and John because you all already have the followers. Such a nice family. Best wishes. Team FL
- Thank you Rosemary, we are truly just sharing what we love doing. Hopefully these restrictions are lifted soon and we can get back out and make some more videos. :D
I love your channel.. very relaxing thanks
crunchy peanut Bear - Thank you so much. 😊
"I found a cave!" Isnt he just darling! Your family has such a beautiful relationship with one another, I can guarantee once your little one gets older the memories you all make here together will be cherished dearly. I hope if he ever has little ones of his own he will take them to explore the beaches like you did with him. These kind of parent/child relationships are rare these days.
Johnlocked the impala - It baffles me that you say that, as why wouldn’t parents what to do these things with their children? There is nothing I would rather be doing? Watching him explore and figure things out is honestly such a rewarding experience. I just love it. 😊💙
Sue Zoo - I share your sadness. It is the same the world over.
Been watching this since 6pm(currently 9pm in Malaysia) and I’m loving it! Keep up the good work! Gained a subscriber.
Garry Matthew - Thank you Garry. Welcome to our channel. 😊👍🏻
Another great foraging video 😉👍
Johnathan Ackerman - Thanks Johnathan. Just enjoying a day out on the shore mate. 👍🏻😊🐚🦀
cracking walk along mate,a lot more entertaining than my fishing trip was today!!

@@TheFishLocker Absolutely! I look forward to more videos! I live in Vancouver and the coastline here and tide pools look very similar. Great diving as well.

Nigel Barrett - Lovely spot isn’t it. 😊👍🏻
Great vid John better than watching tv.....cheers
derek sanders - Thanks Derek. 😊👍🏻
Enjoyed this video,
I hope people find the information helpful.
You find so many things I regard as a treasure like empty shells and so on. Each time you pick one of those things up and then put it back, I feel like "oh no, keep it!" :D
QuiltingCrow kills me too! Lots of people in the aquarium hobby would love the shells for shell dwelling freshwater cichlids.
- We have a little jar with our really special shells in but I prefer to leave them if we can. As you know they can provide homes for other creatures and eventually break down and become the sand. :)
Grat vid. its grate to see you getting the kids out learning about Nature and stuff I love tacking the kids to the beach and looking for stuff like that. Keep up the good work mate!
L.R.S FISHING - It’s wonderful isn’t it. Just enjoying your time together out in the open air. 😊👍🏻💙
I just found your channel; I love these beach foraging walks where you point out the various plants and creatures, talk a bit about them, give tips, info, etc!
- Thats great to hear and welcome to our channel. We have several videos like you describe so I hope you enjoy working your way through our content. :)
Thank you very much for an entertaining and informative video

yariza sanchez - Thank you very much Yariza, yes this year has begun well and we are very positive for the coming adventures. 😊🎣👍🏻
Great vids john really informative.
Looking forward to more sea fishing vids once the weather lifts.keep vids comming john
Philip Shaw - Me to mate. Itching for some fishing weather. 😆🎣
@@TheFishLockerThanks John I've booked myself on the species league wend comp Sept 4/5 Sept in Newquay your end.
Never done anything like this before 2 hook rule any tips or vids to watch would be grateful.
Regards Yorkshire Phil
Philip Shaw - My advice would be to fish small and try and load up with your minis first. Size 10 or 12 and a tiny strip of squid or ragworm for your gobies, wrasse and blennys. Then move to your lure species. Had, Mack, pollack, bass.
I like your videos 😊 Great information 👍. The little guy is adorable. Your Queen is beautiful . Thank you.
Judy Hinojosa - Thank you Judy, I do feel that I am a very lucky man. 👍🏻😊
I enjoy watching the family event. Good on you!
J G - Thank you. We love getting out on the boat and the shore together. Wonderful family fun outdoors. 😊👍🏻
Great day out and informative as always
👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🎣😁✌️
chopperhehehe - It is our pleasure mate. 😊👍🏻
8:47 "You found a cave?" Looks back at the camera with a quick smile. Now that's a proud Dad face.
- He makes me so proud. :D
Always look forward to your foraging videos 💕
- I am glad your both like them. :)
Great video John plenty of information great to see you out with family, your boy James will grow up knowing more about the sea and its creatures than most kids who won't have a clue which is a shame; you should put a couple of books together John one of the shore creatures and shell and one for fish kids would love them.
fred dimble - My hope is that he will develop a love for marine life as I have. It has brought me such joy through my life. As for the books, there are some great ones already out there, mine would be lost in the crowd I fear. 🤷🏻♂️🐚🦀🐟
Great to see you and the family out again John. Brilliant video as always, very informative :) atb
Paul Sheard - Thank you Paul, yes the weather and work has kept us confined lately so it’s great to be able to get out on the shore. Take it easy mate. 😊👍🏻
i get excited when i see an upload from you seem like a happy family .peace from dublin
- Thank you. We have our moments but we try and make sure that we are having fun and enjoying ourselves no matter what we are doing. :)
@@TheFishLocker thats the secret to a happy family

Nice day out john , some decent size winkles 👍
Chris Wright - Thanks Chris, yes there was quite a bit to be found wasn’t there. 😊🦀🐚
Great video full of knowledge and advice 👍🏻
Steve Munn - Thank you Steve, just sharing what we love doing. We have had a lot of folks contact us to say the videos have inspired any into foraging. So I thought it best to cover some basic safe foraging knowledge. There are a lot of folks unaware. Even some youtubers - who really should know better. 😊👍🏻
Lovely lesson, thank you.
Jim Tyler - It is our pleasure Jim. Any time. 😊👍🏻
Another informative segment. The host must have a trove of useful knowledge to share with us viewers. Makes me want to trade my landlubber Minnesota residence fora beach house.
John Doggai - I bet you for every shore related factoid I can give, you could show me an equally interesting snippet I didn’t know about the inland ecosystem in your area? 😊🎣🌿
Oh I love the Welk shell. I love hunting for shells.
- It is such fun isn't it. 😊
Good Vid..Blimey!! takes me back ....Used to go snorkel spring spear gunning for Pollack and Conger on the reef round the headland. 40 years away!!😃😃
- Blimey. I bet the rocks haven't changed since then. Its a lovely part of the world. :)
Lovely video as always, mate. As many people have said before, I share the happiness that I have learnt things once again. Pitty there was not a cook at the end, but you cant have everything!
Vikotnick - Haha. Yeah as I say in the video it is not a wise practice to forage around harbours and working boats. It’s a sure fire way to end up poorly. I am glad you’re enjoying the videos.
just love what you do I live in NZ now so miss British beach foraging
janice white - I would have thought the foraging potential of down your way would be better than here?
The beaches in Northland have cockles oysters small clams no crabs not even much seaweed.
janice white - That is a surprise. I thought you would be swarming with life. 🤷🏻♂️🐚🦀
If James didn't have he's excavator in the next vid it wouldnt be right lol bless his little wellies great to see you and the family enjoying lifes simple pleasures great vid
- The happiest man is the one who finds joy in the simple things in life. ;)
