I am really enjoying exploring your channel! Thank you and it's amazing to be able find this extensive resource on subject matter of this particular interest. I am of Irish decent, via the Appalachian mountains of WV and VA, currently living in NC at the moment, and connecting to my ancestral heritage. I am curious of what your opinion is on forts that exist outside of Ireland, as I believe there is one near my home. It's in on an old quarry dating from colonial times, although the area was revered by the native Americans as well, with a cave system of quartz and granite with natural creeks running throughout. I believe that the electromagnetic energy generated by the environment creates a special atmosphere. The rocks are remnants of the ancient Uwharrie mountains, which are the oldest mountains on the north American continent, at 500 million years old. I believe many supernatural beings are connected with the rocks, as the fair folk have been sighted, as well as the "Old Man of the Forrest" as he's called or Sasquatch like beings, but they say he has the human face of an old man, which is hairless. These reports go back to the original Moravian(German) settlers of the area. Any who, there is a particular naturally formed Grove of trees,of cedar and oak, with large boulders within the circle, that I believe is both a portal and where these nature spirits reside The spot truly ticks all boxes for me, and my Spidey senses are lit when I visit. I didn't expect or seek out this particular subject until they revealed themselves to me. I am a voracious gardener and an herbalist, so just being in nature, and caring for it, I believe attracted them to me and caused them make themselves known, and I was introduced to this amazing world and just researching and trying to.learn more about them, especially how to honor them. So, again your content is amazing, and I just need the opinion of someone who has true knowledge of this world. I kinda thought I was crazy for a minute when this first happened, bc we.arent taught about this type of phenomenon, so glad the Irish have such a rich history of which to referene... Apologize for the long comment lol!
I wonder if the purse that always had a schilling is related to a couple of wallet traditions that I have seen. My mom used to go through her wallet about once a day and would make sure her money was in order so that her wallet would never be empty. It was also a good way to count it and make sure nothing was missing.
My cousin Eamon, a seanchaí in Connemara, showed me a fairy fort in his family's land and warned us to not to step on it. I remember as the sun was setting there looked to be a bluish white glowing light coming from the hill. We also saw will-o-the-wisps in the Ard West area a few times.
I'm sure I've asked this on other videos somewhere, but do you have any resources for Scottish Pagans? I know it's so very similar to Irish Paganism, but I'd love to be able to dig in and root out regional differences in legends and folklore. Even just pointing me in the right direction would be helpful.
UA-cam attached a very newagey ad to this video. From "Gaia" offering "initiation" into some nonsense about Pleiadians. I know that's not your preference, so I note it in case you have any control over the ads.
Fascinating as always, Lora. Thank you!
