- Before Lightning McQueen and Brum, there was KITT. Herbie came some time before that and I'm not sure if Thomas The Tank Engine counts. In fact, we're not really here to discuss the timeline of sentient vehicles and I don't really know how we ended up so side-tracked. Anyway, here's Worst Games Ever.

I'm pretty certain it's a deliberate reference to a Mitchell & Webb sketch. The sketch can be found on UA-cam, just look for the cheese robot sketch.

"Could you tell the difference between the gameplay and the actual TV show". Actually there was no footage from the TV show in the intro, at least what we saw in this video. So they replicated the shots (KITT driving through the desert and the close-ups) very convincingly considering it was 2002. I too first thought they used actual video from the show. Also KITT would jump from the stand-still in the series, so as an idea it was not so stupid as it looks 😅
20:22 Americans say "sem-ee" too. Both pronunciations are about equally common, sometimes depending on the word. The truck is almost always pronounced "sem-aye" though.
Michael actually did drive KITT in the show, the only times KITT really drove himself was when Michael wasn't in the car. Idk that he really HAD to drive if KITT was able to on his own, but I suppose he wanted to since KITT was a SUPER COOL Trans Am.

American here. You just brought back memories of me watching Brum on some kids programming in the mid 2000s. I don't recall what channel or block but I loved it.
This game seems kinda fun. Probably not the kinda fun the developers wanted.

Loved the Mitchell & Webb smelling robot sketch reference.
I'm glad the SGFW (Worst Games Ever) continues, but I must say, I am also glad that the new channel gives the boys the opportunity to do the list-based videos and more scripted/rehearsed material again, as Ben and Peter were both the most enjoyable ones doing that back in the What Culture days. So finally it feels like I get the best of Vidiots with the best of What Culture, without (hopefully) whatever corporate nightmares drove them away in the first place.

I can't remember specifically, but I think one of the episodes explained that the reason why Wilton gave Michael his last name was because Michael looked exactly like Garth Knight, who was Wilton's son. Garth was a criminal who was locked away in a prison in Africa or somewhere and Wilton thought that no one in America would ever actually see him again.
This game is alright. The PC version allows you to change the physics in a text file, and you can save the car sounds into a folder and use them for various Windows operations.
This game came out long after the show's relevancy, which means they probably got the license cheap.

Finally after 2 years of watching worst games on 3 different channels, they play a game that I owned!
Oh crap I did not recognise the game the entirety of the video. I actually played it when it came out. The puzzles only got more annoying later on.
However, it did come out 15 years after the end of the TV series it was based on. The devs probably gave it all the time they could feasibly give to the rusty IP.

Michael Long took on wilton Knight's last name to honor the man who saved his life. Also he couldn't very well go around with his old last name or else people would know he didn't die that night. His old enemies would hunt him down and finish the job.
Before his face was reconstructed was he not Hasselhoff?
@@samtownend6744 There was another actor who played Michael Arthur Long who had a different face. If you listen to the voice in the pilot, they dubbed in Hasselhoff's voice.
Ummm in Knight Rider KITT did stuff on his own. It was a car and a partner. And Jesus christ its explained in the show why he took the name and how FLAG worked etc. Wikipedia entry is accurate so reading that for a few mins can fill info in rather quickly

As a big Knight Rider fan I can see what the devs were trying to do. The constant slow mo stuff seems ripped straight from the 80s series. Of course the voice acting and collision/game is balls but like, it does seem like the devs at least knew the show.

Hey this game was part of my childhood. Surely it wasn't the greatest game ever, but to be able to play as Michael and KITT on my favourite console back in 2002 was something else. I only have fond memories of this game.

I never understood this show as a kid. That entire family of cars were trash in terms of performance. Why not base the show on an actual performance engineered car? Why use a a bloated, slow and understeering shell of a car trying to imitate its best model years that were long behind it
It'd be cool if these guys read comments and learned that pressing F5 would most likely fix the PCSX2 shaking.
So when you first load the mission it gives you 2 minutes 10 to do the lap. Of you fail it gives you 1.45. but the driving feels "competent"

Every time I see the Mikey shirt of Scandal Penguin my heart breaks a little
I think Knight Rider could use a game for PS5 when the system is released. I could see it as a mix of graphics like Last of Us and mechanics like it with esionage levels as Michael out of the car as you get guns and have levels where you have fighting, stealth and undercover not blowing cover then driving Kitt and using every function able to race, chase criminals, bust through stuff, jump vehicles, etc and upgrade Kitt in semi during game. Have Michael, RC, Bonnie, Kitt, Devon, etc as cast and have Garth as end villain but i always thought that in the series Garth should of had KARR as Michael had KITT so put in game. Have David and others reprise voice roles except Edward as he died years ago. Would be cool. I watched every episode of the show when aired, have the NES game too and had this one long ago.
The Hoff would be down to do anything Knight Rider. We should suggest it to him
