How great would this have been? Green Day out in the open, no secuarty guards, no packed stadium with 5000 people, no baricades, I would've killed to be here! easily one of my favourite Green Day videos!
lol this song is actually about billie joe Armstrong and having a crush on another girl that doesn't like him. the actual girlfriend he has is mad and then dumps him out of jealousy

OMG, this song is amazing, I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. hey! the original blue! :D 2:16 best solo ever, 2:28 and a boy was lookin at Billie like: oh dude, that boy rocks!
@ZakkandtheJ No way, man. Tre's way better. I've rarely seen him mess up in live performances. John took ages to get "Dry Ice" right, and in "Going to Pasalaqcua" he dropped the drumsticks twice. In the studio album he goes out of time every now and then.
i heard the sweet children renamed themselves in may 1989 so this isn't REALLY shortly afterwards. did you know: green day's first performance under that name was the same gig as op ivy's last performance... actually they played one more time afterwards but that wasn't public so it doesn't count.
@ZakkandtheJ Right. I like those songs too. But I see a drastic change with Tre Cool at the drums. There's more "feeling". I guess it's because Tre really wanted to be a musician. Oh well.
I swear that camera has better quality than some of the shit you see on youtube these days
It was film I think so there's actual 4k rips somewhere!!

It's in their high school😂
I was there! They were playing during our lunch hour.
Billies solos have never been as good as his solos in high school!
Hasn’t been the same since rehab
@@finncallahan8994 you’re wrong
@@PerryMillersMixes im joking
I mean yes, its one of his first concerts like this, so he basically tried his best since he doesnt really care too much about the solos these days...
@@goldfut7326 did he tell you that?
They were only 18 damn
All those people walking by lol, who would’ve thought these guys would make it to the hall of fame
Was zooming a new invent in those days?
i don't like how like nobody's excited, i would be frickin pumped cuz it's a rlly fast, awesome song
when ur in HS u dont give a shit . they were just dudes , yah it was good... but u were at school
The days when Billie had no tattoos.
For those of you wondering, mike is playing a Peavy Patriot in this video.
Thanks, i was looking for that bass.
at 0:10 they're playing Fuk Shit Up by Blatz haha I love Blatz.
This is priceless, my God. I'm sure Green Day doesn't know this exists here. Pretty sure they'll be mindblown too.
the quality of this is better than the quality of most camera recordings of green day
8mm + Ext. Mic = 😎
Crazy how they play the exact same way 30 years later to a crowd thousands of times larger. Only difference is Mike always plays on Billies left now
My god this is priceless footage
If I was the girl he liked (who didn't like him back) man I'd marry him right away
God they look like Bill and Ted.
+CinderGamer "Billie and Mikes excellent adventure."
Yes, exactly! Lol.
CinderGamer YESSSSS
John is still the only member of Green Day who's still cool in the eyes of Gilman Punks
lol this song is actually about billie joe Armstrong and having a crush on another girl that doesn't like him. the actual girlfriend he has is mad and then dumps him out of jealousy
and the skys blue...
@youdamnfool #obvioustroll
@youdamnfool That's pretty damn sad. I can relate to a lot of their lyrics.
youdamnfool go hide under a bridge troll.

Happy 28th year anniversary. Still watching in 2018

2020. This is the best version of Green Day. I truly wish I had a time machine.

It was a "I guess you guys aren't ready for that, yet. But your kids are gonna love it" type of show.

1:55, this proves that Billie Joe is God.
Billie ain’t God. The Lord Jesus Christ is God!!
Johns winning at the drums
John looks like something between young Stephen Fry and Charlie Sheen. No offence here. Two people I admire. I respect John as well.
The song was written by another one. I didn´t know nothing about it. xD
@Kerbesk IMO I said cuz all my fave green day songs come from the john era.

@ShomanTyla it looks way better now, when he wears his guitar low. :]]
I'm using the same mic that Mike used in this, it's a Shure 10A
Funny how the quality of this video from 1990 is better than the quality of some videos which look like shit these days.
was this before tre cool was in the band?
Two 18 year olds and their 30 year old drummer.
he was in another band at this point.
What year was this
I wonder if any of these people knew WHAT the fuck they were listening to? Like, maybe the best band on earth?
I think the camera man also returns in 2005 in the bullet in a bible interview
