This was the greatest moment in my concert going career. Yelling "Hail Satan" with all of these fine folks was so fun, and the show was just next level. Ghost is the best live
I just saw them live in Cincinnati as my second concert. Gonna be really, REALLY hard for another band to top that performance, I couldve watched them for 3 hours!
Here the first thing these idiots are going to say when something bad happens is Lord Jesus help me God help me please especially when they know death is coming
From an older generation point of view I guess its good younger people appreciating real live music and something to relate to, much like we did with then shock bands and artists like Kiss, Ozzy, Crue , something different from the normal which is always healthy.
Just saw them this past weekend in the pit at Camden NJ…my very first ritual after having completely fallen in love with this band last summer. Decided it wasn’t worth going unless I was right up front…One of the best, if not the best show I’ve ever gone to, and I’ve gone to hundreds. I’ve been a punk my whole life, and when I actually first discovered Ghost a couple years ago I was intrigued by the whole mythos and imagery, but the two words ‘Swedish and Metal’ made me think it was something I’d never be into. Then last summer I stumbled upon ‘Ritual’ and I was like, ‘wow, this isn’t at all what I thought this would sound like’…and ‘this is one of the coolest fucking songs I’ve ever heard’ According to my Spotify stats I listened to Ritual over 400 times since July of 2021…After Ritual I heard Mary on a cross and thought ‘what the fuck is this?? This isn’t metal?? WHO IS THIS FUCKING GHOST, THEYRE BLOWING MY MIND!!!’ From there I was hooked. I’m very set in my ways and I don’t usually take to new music. I have my bands I listen to and very seldom let anyone new in the club. Nofx. Bouncing Souls. Bad Religion. Lots of ska bands too numerous to name. But I went head first into everything Ghost. I put my fandom and knowledge of the band up against any longtime fan. I collect colored vinyl and use them to decorate my walls…I now have a wall of Ghost on colored vinyl ( already pre-ordered Impera on baby blue vinyl). I’ve been in a bit of a downward spiral for the last few years, ever since my best friend died. Life seemed to be slipping away from me as days went by. I gave up on my career and let it fall to pieces. I gave up being a musician. Gave up my hobbies, passions, caring about my marriage, family…inasmuch as I wasn’t really present, I didn’t abandon my wife and kids or anything like that. But I knew it was only a matter of time before I checked out of this life and decided I’d lived enough. And if it hadn’t been for the pandemic, that process surely would have expedited itself. If I had to endure my daily grind much longer i wouldn’t be here today. But the pandemic kept me from having to deal with life, the ever-worsening depression that made it impossible to give a fuck, and paid me for the privilege. It kept me from digging myself any deeper into the hole of despair I dug myself into. So I got to sit at home with my madness instead of allowing it to seep into every aspect of my life. My plan was to never return to normal society. I’ll sit for 6 months and when the money runs out I’ll kill myself. Well, 6 months became a year, became 18 months, and I found out when I got to 20 months there wasn’t going to be anymore money coming in…and then right around that time I stumbled upon a video comparing the chorus of ‘Ritual’ done over the years from Papa I to Cardinal Copia…I don’t know why it was in my feed. I don’t know why it would have recommended such an obscure video, but I clicked on it. And that chorus just grabbed me. The whole video was just the chorus over and over at different live performances…’…this chapel of ritual, smells of dead Human sacrifices from the altar bed…’ stuck in my head for days…I finally went and listened to the whole song. I knew as soon as the opening guitar part went into that crescendo BOOM that ‘deh neh deh deh -deh da na neh- ‘Tonight we summon for a divine cause…I was hooked. As the days went on my exploration into the ghost catalogue went deeper and deeper and everything I heard and watched fascinated me more than the last. ‘His father’. (Shit had me dying laughing…you know what I’m talking about) It wasn’t long before I realized I wasn’t miserable anymore. I found a job in my old career I had previously vowed never to work in again, striving at it no less, I’ve lost a ton of weight, and I look better than I ever have my entire adult life, I picked up my bass guitar again and now play it more than I ever did, I’m back playing baseball in my Sunday league, and my marriage and home life are doing as well as can be hoped. The loss of my greatest friend still haunts me, but it no longer keeps me from moving forward in my own life. This music, this band brought me back to life. I know that sounds corny or cliche but it seems to be the easiest way to express my transformation in a short amount of time. I have Ghost…and unlike the song I don’t have everything…but it feels like I do.
I’ll never forget seeing them in Toronto. During this song the crowd was screaming “hail Satan” so loudly you couldn’t hear the backing track lmao. Great times.

I am personally very disappointed. I saw footage of the opening night tour in Reno, Nevada, and I might make others mad but I just have to get it out there. The ghouls new outfits, especially the head helmet, are down right ugly, and appear to be very uncomfortable, the ghouls seem despondent and detached, ghosts new look is frankly not up to the level I have come to expect from him, the choice of songs played was curious and left me wanting and expecting so much more.. Where was Ritual? The ghouls were detached and deflated, even Tobias was off tempo and off key many times, they all came across as not having their heart in it. Most noticible to me was the lead guitar ghoul, this isn't the ghoul that I have seen in older videos and concerts. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Please, and get your previous Ghouls back! You desperately need them.... Just saying.
