That first strike with it against the sarco was nuts, just barely got it on the nose with a full charge just jeez, no wonder it backed off it had to HURT

Well that's where you're literally wrong bc sarcos don't have headshot dmg at all
The combo that you should have tested is the Charge bite and the regular bite. That's what I use on my Sarco. Anyhow, pratice makes perfect ;) As well use precision key too keep stable when swimming and charging. Thanks again for another awesome video. 😃
Free hint for you, Krawll, if you charge your bite deep enough in the water, it can't be heard.
EDIT: Also, the devs will be making it so that you will be able to bite straight after a charged bite :)
Also another tip. Don't use lunge as a get away tool as it drains a lot of stam and if the other sarco finds you then you are dead
You can already use your bleeding bite instantly after charged bite. He also keeps forgetting the terrain he's in, and starting his attack from too far back. It's a lot harder on Panjura to ambush than it is on Gondwa, Panjura has too many shallow fresh water spots, so dinos don't need to come to the shore of lakes unless it's for a quest.

I think i did the right thing using lunge to get away but then did the wrong thing by trying to hide behind a rock instead of turning around and sprinting backwards , as i explained in the video.

Love that you're at least willing to try it out for yourself. I have a few thoughts I'm sort of jotting down as I watch. I 100% agree with your opening sentiments btw.
Glad to see you learned swimming backwards doesn't use Stam, tis a handy tip. Especially on Duck or Spino to defend with those powerful claw attacks.
As far as your camera goes, you can stay swimming level if you use precision movement in the water and maneuver your camera angle to where you want it.
For the lunge. You were nailing it on your practice rocks. But its weird sometimes. Like I think you need to go a certain distance in the water to get maximum distance on land as well or you get slowed down like you experienced. Shallow water ruins it too as you discovered.
I like to run charged for ambushes and regular bite for brawls. Sucks to give up the bleed but it feels necessary to me at the moment.
I dont have any experience playing on Panjura, so I can't say much here other than the obvious. Much easier to get around on Gondwa as a semi-aquatic. Makes target hunting more fun IMO rather than sitting in the same lake for hours.
As for your closing thoughts, I kind of disagree. I've had my sarc with the same build one shot small/medium adults like Concs and Megs, but its not the easiest thing to do. I think maybe you were hitting tails which (I think) is a damage reduction. But end of the day, play how you want to play and as long as you're having fun, who are we to tell you to change? Thank you for at least testing it out for yourself!
When you use charge bite and lunge you should start the charge bite away from target and then lunge and carry your momentum by running to get more distance
My lunges were very inconsistent and that is why i missed so many of them.
Some of my lunges carried really far and others would stop at less than half the range.
If all my lunges had had the same reach i wouldn't have missed so many of them.
So my problem was not knowing that my feet were touching the ground as i started my lunge because that's what was limiting their range.
I noticed after one of recent update, water lunge feels hella inconsistent, i almosst thought it was nerfed cuz i wouldnt make half the distance at times with the lunge, i rely wanna try the land lunge as it actually looks sort of broken
Main issue was trying to make max range leaving no room for trajectory correction when they notice you and try to run
Not trying for max range would've made them notice me quicker.
I was trying to minimize the noise by starting further.
You said it yourself krawll ! The game offers us many diffrent abilities for every dinos so possibility of diffrent build since its goes on the mmorpg aspect of it kinda so... its NOT because most people tell you that THIS set is good that you gotta play it... sure people choose what they want but remember that playing with the build you feel the most confortable on should be your first go to set ! sure you can adjust over time and discover new sets that can fits you but still once again its not because alot of people say a thing that everyone has to follow it
I feel your pain man. You did great it was still very entertaining to watch. Props to you for giving it your all. I can feel the frustration in your voice at times and I know exactly how that felt.
If you try again, hold precision control to approach slowly and maintain level just enough below the surface so you can use camera to view both above and below water... Yet deep enough down that your nose doesn’t break the surface during charge and sound is slightly muffled. Seeing those jaws closing in is a dead giveaway. Careful of tail breaching surface, when diving to get into position. Begin prepping charge, count a couple seconds, then hit Sprint, Lunge, and let the momentum carry you. Learn the surrounding lake as those shallow banks will interrupt and slow your lunge as you’ve seen. Next step is go back to the build you feel comfortable with, if this doesn’t help :) Hope you can still enjoy the Sarco and Happy Hunting Krawll!

He was terrible.
You're only ever really going to one shot adult dinos if you hit them with the full charged bite, but not even that will not be the case soon as in the PTB they are changing the damage multiplier for ambusher from 2x to 1.5x. Sarco definitely needs some work, but I do still like that they are trying to make it more specialized.
I'm pretty sure all my hits were full charged.
At least the ones where i lunged at them and no you can't kill adults with only 420 damage because most of them have more HP than that.
It can only work if they're laying down.
@@KrawllUnchained Combat size multiplies your damage against smaller dinos. That 420 damage becomes 840 on an adult half your size if I understand the math right.

Ambush charged bite ain't easy to pull off since you got roughly 4 seconds after winding up to the end of the sound animation to pull this off. You have to know how far you gotta be for the charge up to be silent and how close you gotta be for the lunge to reach the intended target. You might have to use a second or two tops to get in lunging position leaving a very short window before the bite automatically releases.

I'll be honest, i may have been a bit harsh on that first video when i said that.
I can see now that with enough practice, you can start landing more hits with charge bite but, i still very much believe that no one will land one on me because i take precautions against it whenever i go drinking and i still think that it will mostly work on unsuspecting players, AKA new players.

Regular bite player here. As you say it depends on what you prefer, at the very beginning as an adult sarco I was use to play charge bite + ripping bite just because it was the "pro" build, witch I now disagree exactly for the same reason you explain on the video. Then I change to regular bite + ripping bite and I would say is just heavenly comfortable and it makes u feel save. But... when the update arrived I give a try to a combination people don't often talk about. Yes, the charge bite + normal bite. It is painful to say goodbye to such a great bleed, but having the chance to do a lot of damage with the new sense plus the charge, and also being able to defend ur self on land is just magnificent. I take players out of guard a lot, and it's great for fighting big dinos. U can probably give it a small try.

Charge bite is a really good ability, but it's just a different playstyle. It's not "better" than any other playstyle. Just different. It takes a lot of practice, but in my opinion, it's the best build for fighting in water, when you know how to. Great video! I'm so glad you decided to give charge bite a chance.
After watching the entire video, I do have to agree with some aspects. Charge bite, along with the rest of the sarco, has been massively debuffed. Disappointing, considering how I used to main as sarco.

hearin the first few words in ur vid, I feel like I need to step in haha. Before finding u actually here I was already usin the normal bite and the bleed one cuz I had a problem how the charge just leaves u vulnerable, like I had many encounter underneath the water and all it takes for u is to miss ur charged attack and u are just spinnin in circles doin nothin cuz stuff just have a cooldown lol. Ofc some people can be here sayin like "oh so it's ur fault cuz u missed or smth like that" go on then it will give me a blast and I will just laugh haha. I liked to know that I was not the only one and learned how to do stuff just by watchin ur vids. Final few words, I'm with u on the charge bite bein loud, u can't ambush anythin like that from water cuz it will just simply ran away, or while u do it on land stuff is also runnin as soon as they hear u charging it up. thank u for ur patience while readin all this now excuse me I need to go. Have fun my man cuz we can't forget that games are all abt it just us havin fun right? Ok so as a sarco,you want to sprint in water towards land as you are doing your lunge and charged bite, as though your lunge takes you far, you need to sprint in case your target is out of reach of the lunge but still close enough that a little sprint will help you land your attack
And yeah that baby Rex survived cause it was a tail attack you landed, and the allo (though it was bs) it somehow registered that you missed your attack even though in all honesty your attack should have landed
And it’s not the ability itself that sucks, I told you it’s a trial and error with sarco with charged bite, you TRULY need to actually practice lots of hours on this Dino, like it’s not an easy one to learn but a good sarco is a deadly sarco, I will try and grow a sarco in officials and try sarco out myself and kill things and try to see if I can show everyone that charged bite literally needs you to REALLY practice, going for rocks isn’t much of a help as they don’t move and react, you need to know and think like your target
The charged bite and ripping jaw combo requires you to immediately press the bleed after your use the charged as it’s the combo that causes your target to panic and run and thus lose health VIA bleeding as they were trying to get away from you
But you aren’t wrong, it’s better to be in Gondwa than Panjura as majority of the map is water so successful hunts are better there
I will respect your decision on choosing the normal bite over the charged bite, but I will say if you truly wish to experience successful hunts, maybe try out in an environment that is more to your favor like Gondwa

I found this helpful tip. While swimming if you use the X button your able to move your camera around and it won't adjust the depth of your creature. It will make turning a pain though so don't use it when fighting in the water
I know, i was using it to remain leveled just a little bit under water, so i could see them and they couldn't see me.
Great effort I'm in the same boat regular bite is my go 2. However the charge bite is absolute magic if you can get it right probably better for people with lots of time on thier hands 😅

With lunge you want to give yourself enough space in the water to get full momentum before you hit land. Youll go faster and further. Also you can use precision movement while lunging, can kinda use it as a work around of your big stupid croc head blocking your view of the target
That Allo that you mentioned should have pepporonied if you watch it back you actually missed the charge attack and werent in combat until you used ripping bite.
As for that young rex... I have no idea. Some people in the comments are saying its because you bit the tail and he survived because the damage reduction from tail but even then it still should have killed him. Maybe the charge bite missed and you actually only did damage by running into him? Lol idk.
Again, mad respect for trying it out even though you knew you'd probably hate it ahead of time.
i tried doing this with charge bite when i grew my sarco, and had the same results. regular bite id better for fights and general sarco stuff, while i think charge bite is very situational and easy to read. love the effort though krawll😁
45:05 that was so baffling I went the trouble of doing the math. Not trying to argue about charge bite's viabilty or comment on what you did, I simply tested it in a solo world with a calculator just see how that can even make sense (and I have no life and want to feel smart).
So the base damage of a fully charged bite is 210 (got this number from a recent video by Rust Bucket; another POT youtuber.), one of the largest in the game. Ambush doubles the damage, so 420.
Here's where it gets stupid, you hit the tail, which reduces damage by 75%! (Got number that from the wiki) So that massive 420 becomes 105, which is still a lot but then you need to factor the target's weight.
I found that a adolescent rex with one bar filled (Health being at ~410, Combatweight at 1465) can take a sarco charge attack without even going low enough to be cover in scars.
(5000/1465= ~3.41 multiplier, 3.41×105= 358 damage or 87% of the rexes' health).
I honestly don't know what to feel about that, so I'm just going to say is a bit unbalanced. It wasn't your skill or the sarco's moveset, it was just the game's questionable combat mechanics.

I feel like yea ofc charge bite/ripping jaws damage will almost never kill any full adult dinosaur but when you compare that burst damage vs the regular bite/ripping jaws damage. The charge bite ofc offers more fearful damage vs a regular biting sarco. I will say yea in a fight the regular bite does have that adrenaline rush type of fighting style. While the charge bite has that burst damage type of fighting style. It just depends on the player fr fr. I dont play sarco at all but logic and common sense leads me to have much of a higher opinion about it, also these videos help understand sarcos. It shows me that id never create a sarco aswell Lol. Im a Dasp/Kentro player. Also a sarco one shotted my full health "ADULT" Kentro before with its charged bite. This was a very well made video on a different sarco build tho i will say that!💯
At least you tried it. I will say a lot of times when you charged and lunged, things ran from you cause you were too close to the surface or your tail was sticking above water. Against the stego and the rex you hit the tail which does reduced damage. If you hit the body it would have 1 shot. Also I believe sarco got a nerf to its ambush around the time your last time sarco video was out.
Also equipping charge bite and normal bite works well too ripping bite is really weak so you could ambush with charge then follow up with normal bite to trade blows afterwards. It is really personal preference but also it takes a lot more skill to use charge bite.
Love the commitment to this video. I find the charge bite and the normal bite go well together. But i find the ripping bite now has been nerf'd as most dinos have an option for nerfing the heavy bleed. Some more than others. But when it comes to sarco builds you always find that youve chosen the wrong build for the situations you find yourself in. Its a 50 50 chance when it comes to sarco builds. Love your content krawll.

Thanks for the second video, anyone who says you don't have an opinion because ____ is showing their stupid only issue I had personally with the first video was the refusal to use so much of the sarco's new set disliking it or thinking its bad is okay but calling it a showcase and not showcasing almost half the abilities was a no no, that aside like others have said there is a depth trick to making it not as loud and also incase you don't know when you hit dino's tails with an attack it is 0.25 dmg so having ambush x2 your dmg only to have it do 25% isn't going to kill anything but the smallest dinos ergo why the baby rex didn't die, would've liked to have seen you try to use the croc run abit even if its not the greatest it's got some use.

Things you could've one hit w/ the ambush+c.bite+ripping bite combo (body or head hits) are:
Cera, Kentro, Metri, Alio, Pachy, Conc, Struty, Thal, Campto, Laten, and Deino.
--All adults with defense builds and standing up. Unfortunately the ones you encountered are chonkers.
---You could include: Meg, Kai, Pycno, Sty and Dasp if they don't have defense build.
At least you've tried the build, so you can have your concrete opinion on it, rather than criticizing it without even trying it for yourself +pts. But some of the comments in these 2 sarco videos are 😅... Each person has a playstyle they're comfortable with, you do your own thing i do mine. Remember "Rome was not built in one day", saying things to a person on what to do that the pros does won't make that individual an expert instantly.
IMO, I guess Krawlls the type that enjoys watching Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather or any light weight boxing rather than Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield or any heavy weight fights. Punches flying and connecting everywhere and both fighters not backing up over slow and calculated punches that if it lands you got a winner. 😆

Here is a tip for u Krawl. U should launch urself just as ur snout exits the water. From what im seeing at ur failed attempts of charge biting and launching at prey u do it too late and too early. If u launch urself just as ur snout is out of the water and if the prey is close to the water's edge u will get them. Btw u can use ur ripping jaws as soon as the charge bite is over if i remember.
Yeah i think my problem was the shallow water.
Every time my feet were touching the bottom, my lunges would be slowed down and wouldn't reach as far.
Yes you can use ripping jaws right after a crushing bite but in the case of the stego, he had already started running when i got him and he was already a little too far for my bite to hit.
Krawll basically, you're used to driving an automatic. This is a stick shift. It takes a lot more to get used to it, and even more to get good at it. Once you are, you can outperform automatics in your sleep. Don't give up after just a couple days. You definitely can't learn it properly in that time.
I'm not giving up lol, its just i can't spend too much time on a dino because my audience wants to see me play pretty much all dinos in the game 😄.
I tried both builds and gave my opinions on both and stated which one is my favorite but i have to move on to the next dino now.
I'm not quitting on sarco, i'll play him again in the future.🙂
You should do a Pycno and Dasp duo with Prof.
After the new combat update, both are quite formidable.
Peice of advise, if you wanna make the best of your lunge, you gotta give yourself a bodys length or so to start lunge before exiting water, youll see yourself go much farther
Spectators be like "this guy really doesn't like that rock." OBS seems better overall, nice suggestion from Prof, he's been a real one!
Btw, there's also charged with reg bite as an option, its my preference personally to have the power attack then one with high rate of attack, really chunks and chips fast. Great to see you mixing it up!
I remember when we accidentally opened Pandora's box with the donations appearing to look like a pay to play kind of thing, it's definitely best to keep it somehow random and so I would suggest a random number generator website, you can easily keep things fair that way, then just have people guess numbers and I suppose if multiple select the same number bring them into a round two with a new number. Could also work to give the occasional viewer a chance to game with you without it getting too crazy.
Great suggestion! I tend to use charged with ripping more often but the standard bite can be really effective, especially for land combat. I wonder if it’s a combination he might actually prefer. Just waiting on Krawll for Round 3 Sarc Build Testing.

What are you playing on ? I don't like the underwater controls either. But on xbox if i hold down the button for preciese movement then it's better.
PC, Keyboard and mouse and yes i know about the precise movement to stabilize while moving forward, but i don't use that to fish, only to approach and stalk my prey, real prey. 🙂
All aquatic and semi aquatic dont use stamina when sprinting backwards in water.
Its a handy getaway tool when you are outnumbered

To stay on the same level while under water, you need to hold down the X key and move with the key held down

I use the precise movement all the time when i'm stalking dinos on the side of the water.
Ambush is my favorite tactic I think
You need to drop the bleed bite and put up normal bite and charge bite that way you can ambush and trait bite 1s you are on land
I feel like you’d have so much more fun on gondwa I like that you have it a chance but you’re starting the bite too early and you should get closer to the edge of the water now on panjura it’s harder due to more shallow water once u master it I’m sure you’ll love it ❤
I don't have a Sarco on Gondwa so i can't make a showcase of sarco on gondwa until i grow one first.
I did say at the end of my video that i know i could do better if i continued to practice but i just don't feel the need to because i just simply prefer the other build.

Awesome video! I'm currently growing a Sarco, an Amarga and a Laten, switching between them depending on which I feel like playing in each day and I discovered something about the Sarco:
I say discovered because I haven't seen anyone else mention this yet, but with the new update of negating thirst when on water, it is now possible to make a fully marine Sarco. It works in salt water and even in the ocean, being a different way to explore the oceans instead of being a Kaywekia and letting you have access to less populated areas just to grown in piece if you chose so, I recommend the Red Island on the South of the map if anyone wants to grow without the fear of being killed young, there's even a Home Cave there.
Until I'm a full adult ready for combat, this is an awesome way to grow and explore the map in areas where you would never go unless you're a marine creature
Edit: If hunting by the shores, the ocean sounds can hide your Charge Bite sounds when well positioned
Sarco just has better luck on gondwa. More opportunity more semi aquatics playing. Also I don’t even use the lunge with the charge bite o just get real close start charge and then charge at them. It’s easier for me to use it that way than lunge. I like the gator dash for getting to water. Love the vids as ever though u just need practice with charge it’s a different play style than your used to.
Charge bite def isn't for everyone. I think I'm caught in the middle cause I can land plenty of hits, but the glitchyness with getting a bite after your lunge is frustrating for sure. Its really nice to have the higher damage and lower cooldown on the other bites. Excited to watch and see what you think at the end of your trial.
Thats crazy that you can backpedal like that with no stamina loss. I'm gonna have to use that.

if you face tank a sarco with a standered bite your gonna loose i learned that hard way
Yes but face tanking is rarely a good idea anyways and a regular bite sarco can certainly defeat a charge bite sarco under water, i've done it 🙂

I wish they would allow flyers on Panjura and marine animals into the great lake on the Panjura map.
The map wasn't desinged with marine animals in mind.
There aren't enough quests in the great lake for marine animals and even if it's huge, it would get too crowded in there.
@@KrawllUnchained Despite what some people might say on this server there were freshwater versions of Plesiosaurs and Mosasaurs. As far as being too crowded the central lake on Panjura is massive! I wish they had a freshwater lake that size on Gondwa! Quests? They could always put in more quests and AI fish. I would like to see a new map made based around a lake six times what's on Panjura with deep river systems.
Your charging your bite way to early, it’s gives them plenty of time to react, you gotta get close to the shore but make sure it’s deep enough so they can’t see you, then charge your bite, only wait about 1 or 2 seconds then lunge and then bite, they won’t have as much time to get away because your closer plus you get much further with the lunge. Try using charge bite and normal bite.
Basically play how you want ignore the others its how you play and its what you like

Ambush was reduced to 1.5x instead of 2x so that’s probably why it feels weaker because it is. Both Alio and Sarco got a nerf. Charge bite is 315 with ambush damage where before it would be 420. Keep in mind that’s just base damage. If they tough scutes equipped then the base damage is dropped from 315 to 235.
Pretty sure those changes aren't on live servers yet though, but it's coming soon.

The charge bite only one shots if they are full resting even if their adult and also you hit the bbys rexs tail so less damage

With the recent update with them nerfing sarco health by 40 percent almost half his gosh dang frickin health, wouldnt be harder to play normal bite sarco, considering you cant face tank anymore? Personally i main sarco, and have always used charge bite and love it because strongest dino attack in game, one shots alot of dinos or 2 shots, just gotta be good with using it, and rely on ripping bite if u miss bite

Alot of people say that but it makes no sense.
The Sarco's charge bite has a maximum of 420 damage with a successful ambush on a fully charged bite.
The Dasp has like 600 HP as an adult and if he's using tough scutes the Sarco doesn't deal his full damage so please explain to me how, statistically, 420 damage is supposed to be able to 1 shot something that has 600 HP ?
i dont like charging bite either, its too risky, u either land it or dont, normal bite u can just bite all day long xD

Edit: Also maybe after the next update try out normal bite + charge. That way you can get off big damage starting with charge, then spam bites after that.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Before Nightstalker my friends and I had a bunch of 2-slot carnis that were basically professional pachy hunters. Since the update we haven't been able to kill a single one because we can't *hit* them due to the constant rubberbanding. Which of course means everybody's playing them in groups of 3-5 meaning if you run into one and aren't fast enough to get away, you're dead lol
The sarcos charged bite does 210 dmg so I'm excited for this video Oh! And with the ambusher and lunge ability it should do even more

It currently one taps a dasp (600hp) with ambush. It having 5000 weight really adds to the damage to smaller dinos

37:36 i was the baby rex i think i remember getting bit on the tail yesterday by a sarc on offic server if it wasn't yesterday that's not me. also hide the code in the video like camo in the background hard to see. so the first person to see it can put it in, 13:46 only people with membrane will see it lol

So for your question regarding why you're not hitting Ambush because you're doing trample damage which is putting you in combat before you can get your bite off and another thing get rid of ripping bite. Ripping bite is trash since the bleed Nerf, ripping bite only does 25 damage with a 1.5 bleed, personally on my Scarc I use charge Bite and normal Bite, ripping bite just isn't worth it anymore because you can only stack a maximum of two minutes of bleed
The trample damage putting me in combat before the bite is an interesting theory.
I guess that makes sense but then this makes getting your timing right even more challenging.
Pretty sure that registered as a tail hit on the baby rex.
45:30 juvi rex, you hit the tip of the tail, you can see the blood on it, extra damage on a tail hit would still equal to not much
Yeah i agree that's probably where the hit registered but, just between you and me, the whole dino could fit inside my sarco's mouth so making the hit register on the tail kinda seems a bit ridiculous lol.😄

Charge bite should take a lil less time to charge t rex charge bite doesn’t even take that long and it has bone break. Maybe smaller mouth 😭

I didn't stop on purpose, i was expecting the lunge to carry me further, as it did when i practiced with the rocks.
Some of my lunged would carry really far but then some of them ended up being really short distances and i think it's because my feet were touching the bottom when i started the lunge.
Shallow water seemed to really affect lunge distance.
@@KrawllUnchained reasonable, to try and combat this i always sprint into the prey to atleast get one weak bite as to none at all, they takeaway is that if you went far you would barely have any stamina to run back, but assuming they prey is running, you should be fine as long as they don’t turn back
in conclusion i would love to see you try one more time with it in a not so shallow lake, like talons point/corpse cove lake, as it’s deeper and you can try and combat your problem
The whole charge up attack makes no sense anyway. In real life it wouldn't make a Crocodiles bite any stronger. Another thing that bothers me is by not giving flyers about ten times the "flying" stamina on ground it would be like any other Dinosaur.
Not knowing how to use charged bite correctly is the issue here.
Sarco whit charge bite whit ambusher ability can kill adult dasp and take 40% off rex healt but I respect u opinion I personal use charge bite and normal bite
You can only kill an adult dasp if he's laying down.
It has 600 base health and the charge bite with ambush does a maximum of 420, then you have to consider the armor bonus from that dasp if he's using tough scutes.
There is no way that 420 damage can 1 shot an adult dasp unless he's laying down.

Normal bite with ripping is just as good as charged. Charged is only good for ambushing

After watching the whole video.... Charged Bite seems WAY too telegraphed to be effective.
Almost every opponent saw the attack coming and was able to get out of the way before the attack lands, and the cooldown makes it a total liability.
I agree with you, i never liked charged attacks but many of my viewers wanted me to try it and a lot of people swear by it.
It really comes down to personal preferences.
Some people still really like the charged bite but it's just not for me. 🙂
2:20 True everyone is good at his own build, but now people dont need to tell you to use charge bite when you don't want or think it's not good ( now don't go to tell someone who thinks that charge is not good everyone has its own opinions)
your launches are stoppping way too soon man. You should be able to get more into land. Especially that allo at 34:30. Unless they changed it last update.

The lunges seemed to be seriously affected by shallow water.
If my feet were touching the bottom, i would be slowed down like crazy but if not, i would just go full send really far.
