I have a Yose Power kit on one of my bikes and I've certainly got no complaints, plenty of power for my needs, excellent build quality too.
👍👍
probably the most reliable and best value for money e bike kit you can get with fantastic customer service should you need it, i'm buying the 500w 48v kit in USA in next couple of weeks for £385.00 and no shipoing as going in my suitcase on way home less 26" wheel rim and spokes which are being chopped out and binned.
👍👍
There is no need to buy new gear shifters. With my existing combined ones I left them on and fitted the replacement brakes behind an under the exiting combined unit to see if I could reach both which I could apart from the two brake levers obviously clashing. I then removed both units and drilled out the rivets holding on the original brake levers then refitted both in the same order. No faffing with threading the new gear change cable thought and setting up tension and no additional cost for replacement gear changers. You could cut off the redundant cable guides if you wanted as they only aluminium but I didn’t bother.
👍👍
Gotta love a mullet! (Rear wheel smaller than the front). My bike has a 26 up front and a 24 in the back. Both 3" tyres. Handles like a dream
Well spotted 👍
things have advanced so much since my first ebike , i wish i had gone with a kit to start , it is the simplest way to get into e-biking , i was very unsatified with my first ebike ($2000) after 1 year it was totaly useless , something like this is a way better option.
Yes I remember my first ebike kit years ago wasn't as good as this one 👍
Also I bought the 15.6Ah battery with integrated controller, mounting it on my rear carrier.
👍👍
I have this kit on one of my bikes and I couldn't fault it, I like that the controller is built into the battery, so no extra bag or case.
I did look to see if there was any custom firmware, but couldn't find any.
The bike I use it on is a coveted MTB with slicks on, I normally use it on 2 or 3, and have got about 35miles out of it, with battery still left, and I live in Wales surrounded by big hills and it never struggles.
35 miles is a pretty good range 👍
@@baconbuttties it was yes, it was over two rides, one ride included going up the horseshoe pass in Llangollen that ride was about 24miles, then another ride was the remainder, but I was getting range anxiety🤣🤣, I think it's good value, I have had the kit around 2.5years done about 750 miles, until I built a bike with a bbshd which is my go to bike
@@acelectricalsecurity The kit sounds like it is very durable then, thanks for the information.
@@baconbuttties I don't know if you know, but you can derestricted it, inside the menu
@@baconbuttties there is another guy on you tube that made a few videos, that's how I found the kit, I haven't really seen anyone else use it, for the money is good, I think the torque is around 35nm, which doesn't sound much, but some of these light weight mtb's have a similar motor and they cost thousands
Brilliant video. It's given me the confidence to maybe buy the kit. Nice one.
👍👍
The price is very good to be honest , good for beginners delivery riders. mate was wondering I want to fit this kit to my cult devotion 26" box cruiser bike. the seller said to me that this kit is suitable for speeds bikes only, so what you think ? are there any other versions that fit to single speed ?
I haven't seen any that specify single speed, I assume the drop out on your bike is a different width?
@@baconbuttties I contacted the guys on eBay, they have a front motor hub which fits my bike perfectly, thanks again for your videos
The 28" (700c) kit would have fitted this bike better I feel. Mine is a 29er, I wish they had 29" rear hub wheel also. And I wish they sold the kit with a 15ah battery and not a 13ah one.
👍👍
You commented on😢 how it's good for the price point but you can get a Tongshen mid Drive kit with torque-sensing like your cyc (all their Motors are identical they just come with different firmware that you can change) for that same price in fact it's a little cheaper and I'm going to wager that there's no comparison between the two in particular if you have a 52 Volt or higher battery and are using the right firmware.
Sorry I can't share the link to that deal publicly because I haven't ordered mine yet but if you can work out a way to send it to you privately I could do that
If you look at the about section on my channel you can find my email 👍
Could you send me the link please?
I bought this same kit one year ago and installed it on a carrera hell cat, its a great kit, the only thing is the battery lasts about 20 miles so i suppose its not the best,it would be interesting to see you do a rang test of your own. I didint install the brake leavers as the hell cat has hydraulics, Anyway great vid, thanks for the info, safe rideing 👍
👍👍
Yeah the battery is garbage
Conversion kits are definitely the cheapest option and frankly also the best because any ready-made Ebike less than $2000 pretty much sucks and even the cheapest mid drive conversion kit would blow it away for a fraction of the cost
👍👍
He sounds a cheery chappy.
👍
I have just bought the 250w front wheel kit to fit on a new lightweight folding bike Dawes Jack. First problem still not overcome is using the crank puller, crank will not shift. I was planning not to use the thumb throttle, but if I can't get this crank off, I will use it instead. Just have no idea of using it for the full speed as in its basic state will only do walking speed. Any ideas would be helpful please.
Cranks can be incredibly difficult to get off sometimes. I bought a more durable crank puller and use a metal pipe as an extension to get more leverage.
Do you have to have the throttle engaged as well as pedaling?
Both are separate as it has pedal assist as well.
Great informative video, I would like to know what size rivet bolt did you use to fully secure the battery
It's the rivnut that uses M5 bolts
@@baconbuttties Thank you
Thanks for sharing. How did you manage to drill the hole for the expanding rivet nut straight? My battery is super heavy and trying to wiggle loose. I'd prefer a third mount point, but I doubt I can drill a straight hole with my dremel attached to a flexible drive shaft. Everything else I have is (a lot) too large to fit the inside of my frame. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
I used an 90 degree adapter on my drill.
@@baconbuttties Thanks for the info, I didn't know 90° adapters existed. Bought a cheap one, and it worked perfectly for me (on an aluminum frame).👋
@@heraldreichel1971 👍
How is it in the rain?
I never tried it in the rain
I've an old 2010 full carbon fibre hard tail scott MTB, I'm now53, and thinking something like this would be a cheap conversion judt for doing light mtb trails?
I have never had a carbon fibre bike frame but if the fitment is the same as standard bikes then it should be fine for light MTB stuff
@@baconbuttties basically the same bottle mounts etc, just half the weight
@@fastandyc 👍
How are those grips? Was looking at those for if I switch out to a thumb throttle.
Actually very good considering the price. Easy to get on and off as well 😂
Hey im just looking at buying one, im in england but only getting the option to purchase in euros is this normal? Also the kit you linked is €239 is this correct?
Is the kit from your link in description the one your using in video?thank you 🙏
239 euros is kit without battery. Purchase price in euros should be fine
Do you get any drag from the motor when the kit is switched off when you are peddling under your own steam?
I'm sure I didn't... Well not that I can remember.
@@baconbuttties Thanks, I have contacted yose and as far as I can make out from them there is not any. Thanks for the excellent video.👍🏻
@@Scrummy21 👍👍
Hello, what a interesting video,A Carrera Vengance for £80 pounds what a bargain, for the kit it definitely worth the look for starter electric bike.howw many miles does the battery do?.
Someone just mentioned in a comment that they have the kit and they get 35 miles. I suppose it depends how you use it
20 miles
The rear wheel looks much smaller than the front wheel.
Front is 27.5, rear is 26.
You can buy different sizes on the website.
@@baconbuttties I just looked at the website and the kit I would like only has a twist throttle. Is it possible to switch that before buying? I asked the chat but they're closed today.
@@grahambeyer6254 I'm not sure, but I think they should be able to sort it out
@@baconbuttties Its ok found it!
@@grahambeyer6254 👍👍
36v 18a. Very low power
It's a UK legal kit 👍
It's a 350w motor so the battery life should be decent
That looks like Caerphilly mate?
👍
I cycle back and forth Bedwas and Senghenydd Monday to Thursday for work. I am looking for a decent kit that will help me get home to Senghenydd?
@@andromeda1892 yes it's uphill all the way from bedwas to senghenydd.
This kit gives you a nice bit of assistance but it all depends on how much power you want.
Nice one mate. I might get a 1500w kit
@@andromeda1892 should get you up those hills 👍
just a quick one have you got any videos on folding bikes, converting front wheel installing battery and controller unit and can it be done I bought a played folding bike of ebay 20 inch wheels looking a converting if it can be done thanks
What kind of folding bike is it? Can you give me the full name.
This is what I am doing now with my folding bike.
