Great to hear some classical Greek history and mythology from another Aussie! I studied Classical Studies in Adelaide during the 90s and it was a very interesting subject. We did read The Bacchae in class. I also visited Greece close to the same time and saw some of the ancient sites. Just recently, I ordered my own copy of The Bacchae and have started reading it again for my own interest.
Reviewing Dyionysus myth in light of the Paris Olympic Games 2024 controversy. Greek mythology was the first story book my dad bought me when I was in the primary school.

The Difference between Jesus and other gods that went to the underworld, is that Jesus did not come back to exact revenge - Jesus died for our sins and came back to save humanity.
Can you think of any other examples of a dying-reviving god from world mythology?
Inanna, Jesus, Ixchel...just to name a few from the many in mythology. 👍
