I run a 42" blade with a 30 horse diesel. I re-geared the in-feed and slowed it down. I also made a bridge so I can control the tractor rpm from the mill and also disengage the PTO in case of emergency.
@Ashley-yh9pf that's awesome! This is just another temporary power unit. We have one that is an identical to this tractor minus all the wheels that we are goin to permanently mount at the new sawmill building. This is a 61hp pto tractor. Thanks for commenting! Merry Christmas! From our house to yours!
@@mcguireandsonssawmill6420 I would love to have that much power , but it cuts good the way it's set up now . We also have ours set up on a schedule 80 4" well pipe frame sled so it's portable without a lot of set up . Then we built a dust collector with a 6" stove pipe discharge that we hook to an Agri-fab lawn vacuum to keep the work area clean . Merry Christmas to you and your family !
That's awesome! We are working on either getting a sawdust blower or building a sawdust drag. Both are pricey. But it'll save on my back in the long run. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, I do as well... filled with wonder and amazement... then reality set in. The hundreds of hours rebuilding, making parts(buying machining equipment, building a foundry), engineering and re-imagining the belsaw... yep its been the best father sons project a man could ever ask for...
So the IH 674 Uses a multi-disc clutch pack that's hydraulically applied to engage the PTO. I'm pretty sure this clutch pack is smoked and needs replacement. Doesn't look like to difficult of a job.
@greatnorthernn-3154 the pump was putting out 180psi with the PTO engaged. Should be running about 200-250psi. The fluid was just nasty. Looked like a milkshake. Ordered a pto clutch kit, seals, bearings and thrust washers. Hydraulic pump ordered as well. Will check to see if the shims worked tomorrow
@@mcguireandsonssawmill6420 I think you will find that the lining on some of the friction disc is worn or burnt off. This makes the clutch pack dimension too thin. The piston has moved to the end of it's travel and is only partially squeezing the clutch discs. The PTO should work normally at 180 psi.

I remember when I first bought a sawmill

The book says 200-250. Ordered the clutch kit ($174.00) holding off on the hydraulic pump($362.00) till we see what the new clutch does...
It’s just good to see you back - stop picking on Rebecca
Thanks Rick! It is all in good fun! She's my bestest friend forevers!
Hey, we can hire a clickbait specialist or will that get us into trouble? 😂
I think we could do that! Not sure what would happen. But hey, what's the worse they could do? Take away our birthday? 😂
You need more power.
Do you sell pallet stock??
@@ricktuohy1225 we do. Once the mill is back to full speed. We will be pumping out the boards again!
