I’m seeing over and over again that soulless and lifeless is the design choice today. It’s like loving your culture, town, country is trying to be suppressed. Even McDonalds turned dull box gray. Nothing has any character or distinctiveness anymore.
I miss the 90/2000's bright and meaningful designs
@@KevinHeimbach when Innoventions looked like a Chuck E. Cheese? Lol
The new epcot entrance makes it look like you're going into Concrete World (the pinnacle of Soviet Modern Industrial-Based Theme Parks)
It looks just like their new jail.. I mean star wars themed hotel
It’s literally surrounded by trees and water unlike the last 22 years entrances
definetly agree on Disney needing to treat their castmembers better, hearing some of them are homeless is just terrible (espeically when a Disney trip or Disney merch at the parc is so insanely expensive)
Insanely expensive! That news is appalling.
Thank you Kevin when they fired all the imagineers there they messed up hugely you are so right
I still can't believe they haven't brought back the trams. Those trams can cut out an extra half mile or so at the beginning and end of a long day. Epcot is already difficult for those with mobility issues or older disney fans who can't walk those long distances - especially in the Florida heat.
I recently went to WDW this past December and I thought to myself multiple times, “If all of these holiday decorations weren’t here, this would look pretty blah.” It actually really disappointed me a lot that I told myself it’d be awhile before I go back to Disney.
Then, a month later, my friend reached out to me that he had an extra ticket for Disneyland’s Disney 100 celebration. So I drove for hours to get to SoCal and cautiously went back to Disney.
Let me just say, WOW. I think the Disney company is hoarding all of its magic at that park. They also really did the anniversary justice. The happy energy was so palpable and things still felt high quality. This gave me hope that Disney can and will get back to the pre-pandemic/Chapek era. 🤞🏽
The Boardwalk renovations will end in sad, uninspired design work that will feel very Hyatt Centric, airport Marriott. That coffee shop doesn't even have crown molding, it's been stripped bare, and no amount of old timey furniture will fix it now. However, the reckoning will come when the Grand Floridian lobby is ruined.
A lot of the things going on were in the works before Iger left the first time… so Chapek not totally to blame. If you wanna get back to the Disney that everybody fell in love with bring back Eisner 👍🏼🇺🇸
I think you mean time machine.
Um no absolutely at least with Epcot he set up the stage for the modern state of Epcot lol
Haven't gone to Disney in years. They are missing 2 extremely important concepts "attention to detail", and "exceeding expectations ". The transition from wow-ing guests with simple things such as airport to hotel transportation and fast pass to the monetization of almost everything took the magic away for me. We are Universal almost exclusively, we feel valued, and don't stress about booking a ride or experience.
Thank you for always being real. They don’t want to hear it but you’re speaking facts.
I love your honest reviews 😂 Thanks for always keeping it real on here 🙏🏽
I hate to break it to you - Disney is on the back nine of their "round" as a corporate entity. Things are deteriorating quickly. Many loyal fans, like me, have come to the realization that the amount we pay for a vacation, is not commensurate with what they deliver in terms of product. Over and above that, they have raised prices and taken away too many perks. The last straw for me was the paid fast passes and the elimination of magical Express. I'm a DVC owner. I'll user my DVC membership to for lodging. But from now on, I'll be sending all my money off property at Universal and local restaurants. I didn't renew Disney+. I don't watch anything on ABC or ESPN. I won't be seeing any of their movies; Marvel, Disney Animation, Pixar, Live Action nor anything else they produce. They have screwed me as a customer for the last time. I won't give Disney one red cent more than I must.
Iger created most of the problems and chapek just made them worse. Everyone needs to stop thinking Iger is so amazing.
Iger is a negotiator
He knows how to acquire properties and to please the shareholders
We need Eisner back at least as an advisor because he at least gave us experiences and pushed for innovation
They need to put the carousel horse from Mary Poppins in the carousel coffee place . It used to be in the Great Movie Ride queue. It must be in storage somewhere.
“We don’t have any budget constraints”
So I guess they’re choosing to short cut and cheapen out on everything? Where is the money going then, Josh? That Journey/Heihei parking lot signage is a travesty
Carousel decor doesn’t make sense because they have vast 💰 resources right? Not to mention warehouses full of decor, furnitures, themed artifacts, etc. from other projects or locations closed over the many years
Who is making these decor choices is my ? Because they clearly don’t understand the time era they need to reference
You said the name of that French chocolate cake perfectly
speaking on disney making questionable merchindise choices, I bought a throw blanket to later open it and the design is 100% different than what it was shown as, and wasn't even disney-
they're just going out of their way to make the experience worse tbh
Good job Kevin. I agree. It has changed. It all has. And it is very sad. They need to invest in the parks again or they are going to lose them.
Disneys push to replace every original concept with IPs is really sad. Like why replace the signs? They where fine!
With the price of admission everything better be on point, I feel like they are coasting right now
Disney really doesn't take care of the employees. When Iger took over I believe he took a salary of $1M or $2M, but his bonus if he does well is going to be $20M. That's insanity. The fact that extremely successful companies cannot take care of their rank and file ppl is appalling. I also don't see any of the Disney family that is still alive calling for their companies employees to be paid better. Cost of Living in Orlando has skyrocketed over the past two years.
It's beginning to look like the Imagineers have lost their imagination.
I went there yesterday. Not only did Journey Into the Imagination stop in the sight section and was completely silent, but spaceship Earth was terrible as well. It was, loud, noisy, and the speakers were nearly inaudible.
Bring back the trams, IT’S A MUST!
Boardwalk is by far my favorite disney hotel and we stay everytime we go, I hate to see it go down like this 😢
okay but have you seen the 100th anniversary ears!!! I swear they look like two Epcot balls with a 100 bow. Disney needs help with so,e of their designs
That portion was very small unlike at Busch Gardens food and wine
It seems as of now there are not plans to bring the trams back to those parks. They had said they would but then retracted that statement. There is still talk that Disney may be laying off people which probably means the trams will continue to be missing.
As far as that front entrance into Epcot, it reminds me of some concrete area in Russia. It just has that vibe.
Sad thing is we can tell they just don’t care what Disney fans have to say. They are obviously only concerned with the ticketed guests who are there for a few days, spend a crap tonne of money then go home and don’t get on Twitter to complain about how Disney used to be. I’m glad I have my memories at least of when Disney did care.
With what they're doing to Boardwalk, I'll never spend $600+ a night to stay there now. I don't know who Disney thinks they're catering to with these bogus updates, but if I have $600 to stay at a subpar hotel, then I have $300 to stay at a much better hotel down the road. They've lost their minds.
❤❤❤ Nailed it! I agree 100% and that’s why we canceled my upcoming trip and decided to make it 100% All Universal! More fun, less cost, less hassle.
The Tram problem is bad, Disney stop being Six Flags, bring back the trams. Even if there is handicapped parking people still need the trams for people who do have walking problems. Stop talking about Covid 19 as the cause of every problem like the trams and Rev system. Disney does not care about there guest, most companies in 2023 belivie the guest are worthless and not in there bottom line.
If someone dies in the car park because of the long walk the trams will return pronto.
The bubbles on the sign have my OCD going INSANE
The Star Wars reference for the Figment army😆
Disney should be ashamed of themselves. They keep on with raking in the money with genie plus, lightning liens, increasing the price of food increasing the price of everything around the park. Lowering the amount of actual food because their guests are fat! executives get absorbent bonuses. In someways, I think the executives need to fall into the shoes of some of these on the ground level, Disney employees and see what they go through in a week and see how mush the enjoy that small paycheck!
Let me just say that café is the saddest looking thing I have ever seen. Who ever made those choices? Needs to get a new job or maybe they were really limited with the amount of money they were able to spend! If this is the quality work of Disney. Why are they charging so much money for staying at a Disney resort. Keep up the good work.
Disney needs to see this video
It's such a gross money grab it's personally insulting.
The problems are making it a mess! People will simply stop going! I remember the decent days.
Thanks for having me on! Nice talking to you the other day!
Hope you ate some yummy food that day:)
The current state of Disney is just... depressing.
It's heartbreaking seeing what the "renovations" are doing to the image of the Boardwalk. That is without a doubt my favorite resort at Disney World and I'm terrified that they're going to remove all the personality and charm from it just to give it that bland modern aesthetic they're applying to everything else. Disney's choices overall make it incredibly difficult for me to want to visit the parks again.
A lot of those imagineers now work for Universal. Good job on firing them, Chapek! /s
The photo of julie andrews is actually from the WDW opening day special
That's so cool:)
Nailed it again! Carousel Coffee Carnage #KevinKnowsBest
HAHAHA you kept me coming up saying hi!! ❤️❤️
Disneylands minimum wage isn’t 15$ yet but disneyworlds is?
Mission space is trash, retheme it or tear it down and do a walle ride. Then, the cheap parking signs would all make sense!
Wall-E ride would make more sense, I think Tron light cyclerun should have replaced Test Track as well. Only reason it's in Tomorrowland is because that whole area is a ghost town.
I’m digging the background kiddo sounds 🤣
Old Bay Seasoning...affirmative!
I am so disappointed with Disney. They just aren't the company they use to be. The last good thing Disney really put themselves into was the 60th anniversary at Disneyland. Even their movies are not what they once were. I am very worried that we will lose the Disney we once knew and loved.
The lights on Spaceship Earth are amazing tho. There's still good stuff just not hit after hit like how it used to be
@Kevin Heimbach Very true, the old stuff is and always will be amazing! I just really miss the old Disney. I hope they bring it back.
Yeah, cheap dollar store vibes. Sloppy and half-assed. Cast members and guests deserve better
I wish they would find a way to incorporate characters like Buzzy or Dreamfinder into the park even if they have to close down the ride
Stick the original animatronics in like a restaurant or something
butchered the french prounounciation of the dessert. I like the review of the food and merchandise. The carne asada from mexico is over priced for the portion.
Spot on again.
EPCOT DVMesque entrance sign, OOOOF. Boardwalk is an abomination.
Everything else in epcot’s good, just not the fact that they renamed futureworld (I think, the Epcot 2023 map calls futureworld “world discovery”, and the fact that innoventions is gone and is replaced with a sad grey building
@20:05 - Kevin may have just invented a new swear phrase that could be used in place of the nastier ones.
Epcot is so boring. It's basically just Superfluous gift shops and restaurants. Very little rides and attractions because those cost money to run and maintain
I’ll be at EPCOT Friday afternoon, can’t wait to see those beautiful new signs!
Succulents are air plants. They don’t need soil just need air and watering once a week
Thank you Sir.
You know you can park at 1 of the hotels and get free shuttles, just dayin.
The past couple of year, Security interrogates you if you don't have a dining reservation or are staying there. It used to be so easy to visit the resorts and shuttle over:(
@Kevin Heimbach oh, I did not know that, we stayed at the New Orleans last Halloween, and the shuttles were packed with people parking and jumping on.
Anyway, live your passion, you are correct, the cast members make the place, my best memories are of them more than the parks. I live in AZ and alternate from World to land each year, and world is thousands more for me.
Thanks again.
10:40 - says it all, right there.
Honestly,I went to all four Disney parks and besides a few rides,I think Epcot was super boring when compared to the other parks. I only really went to say I've been
What do you guys think about the new Disney Epcot changes?
Yeah, as a "normal guest" I tell all my friends not to touch Disney for at least 5 years from now until they get their sh*t together!
I like it
Same old terribleness. The writing was on the wall for myself and my husband back in 2018. We tapped out then. Disney lost it’s way. We would rather use our disposable income to travel the world at this time. It’s not our responsibility to hoot and holler for them to change. The product should be there for the consumer to well, consume. Not the other way around.
Keep in mind, Im a born Floridian, born in 1985. So the Eisner years were my everything. Lol. That includes the golden age of Universal. (Which I am currently an AP holder. And despite their changes away from the classics, they still have a magic I appreciate.)
So thank you for continuing to hang in there for those of us who unfortunately lost the magic. Let’s hope one day soon Disney returns to it’s mission statement.
Love it. Guardians is fantastic, Ratatouille is a much need addition. The revamped innoventions was much needed. Journey of water will add lush greenery and water features. Space 220 is the pinnacle of theming.
Budget cuts
I'm jealous of the baggy shirt. As a heavy person, it is ALWAYS hard to find cool baggy shirts because shirts in the parks are not fat friendly. 😢
You might be able to order it on shop Disney:)
@@KevinHeimbach I've looked...sadly, the website doesn't...either. Plus, not the same as it being a park souvenir.
Disney should be having Pepsi, not Coke.
LoL that t-shirt
Your favorite park currently?
Universal Studios/Disneyland
EPCOT has guardians of the galaxy. Other than that there no good reason to want to go and spend money to go there.
Totally lol at the thought of putting the Figment waffle on the festival of the arts home altar. Haha
Yikes pretty negative. The parks going through a renovation, it’s not gonna look amazing amidst that
Good job Allison….We know you made the office wall blue. Great touch.
Tough words for Chips Ahoy.
Compressed sawdust with chocolate chips
love the stars wars audio clip with the popcorn buckets - perfect!
haha the shirt!!!!!!
hopefully another size fits:)
The parking lots are divided by Earth and space. Space fitting world discovery and earth with world nature. It fits a lot more than un memorable adjectives for a lot name.
OMG. Your Chester and Hester shirt. LOVE. Where did you get it? Is it vintage?
Well Bob Iger and his acquisition of 20th Century Fox screwed a lot of cast members over think about that not exactly funny
Regards parking signs the Guardians are there because of the ride. I think most of the character choices made sense.
Kid you not, got an ad for Epcot/Cosmic Rewind before this video. #JoshKnows
LMFAOOO
You’re like the hotter version of Michael Kay ❤❤❤
Just a request - please slow down on the jump cuts when you’re giving your closing remarks. It’s really distracting not to mention annoying. But love the content.
Oof
