Sir, you have enabled me to find one of the movies that I had watched as a child but couldn’t find as an adult. Your list is very fitting for this genre.
"Alive" is about the most unbelievable survival story but the movie itself was rather weak. I mean, I like it, it wasn't bad, but it lacks detail. Even when Nando (one of the main protagonists) worked as a consultant.
The 1st Rambo deserves an honorable mention... I know it made me want a hollowed out survival knife. 😁 I'll be checking out a couple of these this weekend.

#1 Into the wild.. Interesting movie however it focuses on the negative side of human relationships. for young people thinking of running off on their own its shows how difficult it really is...
I recommend Owen Wilson's No Escape here when him and his family come to visit southeast asia and were tracked down by locals trying to kill them and all foreigners there and at the end was an amazing ending, it's very good movie
That country is Cambodia where they visited. And those people are not locals those are communists Rebels know as khmar rouge. This movie was based on real events which makes the movie very spacial. Sorry for my bad English
Any doc about Shackleton or Amundsen is a must. Fictional survival stories are a waste of time. The “Into the Wild” guy poached a moose and had no idea what he was doing in the Alaskan tundra so he was rooting for nature towards the end.

I have never seen a film in a theater where at the end there was silence and then suddenly everyone started talking to people giving their interpretations. It was great! It really made an impact and made people think and talk to total strangers.
There's also 2 other good movies the deepwater horizon which was about the 2010 oil rig explosion and The 33 was about the 2010 mining collapse in Chile
The way back (2010) is also one of the best survival movies, highly recommend
