  • A big rainstorm came through Blue Spring Farm last week. We finally finished out the other side of the culverts by installing the concrete bag wall that was needed. Ryan & Kylar knocked it out in one day and it's already rained again and solidified this section of wall. Our creek culvert walls are complete!

I guess one rip would be to do the intake side first in case you get a big rain!

I really like how everything turned out it’s just my concern on the top on how they crack

It’s been holding up really well. We’ve had a lot of big storms. Cracks haven’t changed, will keep everyone updated as time goes by.

@@BlueSpringFarm Water the top where the cracks are, then pour some of that concrete mix on the top and work it in the cracks, then water, then repeat until the crack is filled. To prevent them from cracking in the first place you could have added some tape to hold the bags together as the concrete cured.

Not if you dig it the way you want it like how you have the bags lay down a big piece of plywood in the entrance of the pipes and pour the cement and have it all liquidy but knowing where you live I don’t think he would have access to the hose

You need to go farther into the bank to anchor your bridge bulkhead but good luck

Ryan, have you had an even bigger rain since this video? If so, how did it perform? Also, why did you put the retaining wall on the "outlet" side first vs. the "inlet" side?

Yes we’ve have a lot of big rains this year and the walls have held up very well! Doesn’t look any different then they did at install.

@@BlueSpringFarm I have another question, has the water ever ran above the culverts and over the road? If so, what was the result?

outlet sides have more turbulence and undercut culverts. slope road to drain to input side the best.

@@littlefurrow2437 similar to my thinking, these concrete bags really do not bond one to another. They just become heavy bricks...and create a reasonable abrasion resistance to water, imho. but, they're cheap for their size
