Mr. Hippo is watching very carefully, in case he has to make a hasty retreat from elephant shenanigans! Mr. Hippo is probably very familiar with Mambo and Setombe craziness…
Male hippos are extremely territorial. He’s saying look at my huge tusks, with that yawn. The elephants were very smart just to ignore but keep a wary eye on him. Where’s Sebakwe when you need him? 😆
Elephants are excellent swimmers and can handle themselves well in the water, even if more hippos are present. If hippos become too aggressive or territorial, elephants might choose to avoid the water to prevent any potential conflicts.
Lone hippos, especially males, are often found on their own for a few reasons. Young bulls are typically evicted from the herd when they reach sexual maturity. These lone bulls then find refuge in their own pools.

Can the elephants still swim if more hippos come?
Elephants are excellent swimmers and can handle themselves well in the water, even if more hippos are present. If hippos become too aggressive or territorial, elephants might choose to avoid the water to prevent any potential conflicts.
So Sassy.
Now who is this lone hippo and why is he not with his family?
