Puebla, the so-called City of Angels and Mexico's fourth largest city, is best known for the beautiful Talavera tiles that adorn its walls, domes and interiors; for that thick, chocolate-enriched sauce that originated here, the world-famous mole poblano; and for being the site of an important battle on May 5, 1862.

The city of Puebla is the capital of the state of the same name.
The streets of the compact city center are lined with churches, mansions and other beautiful old buildings and are a pleasure to walk through.
Founded in 1531, Puebla was the first settlement in Mexico that Spanish colonialists laid out in a grid pattern, rather than building on top of an existing settlement.
Modern Puebla is a state capital and university city that has retained its rich heritage of colonial architecture.
