This build started a few hours after my 24 hour stream. I was still learning about the update. I hope you enjoy this playthrough as I learn more about the update as we progress to the end game. Ty for watching!
I played this game for the first time 3 Days ago, really wanted to make dual wield build happen. really bingeing the game. died alot. Doing shield and sword build on Arne felt easy after. After watching this i have to realise: to make dual wield work, dont start dual wielding. Im now playing derwin archer with dagger, who will eventually drop his shield for a sacond dagger. so tyvm man, i was pulling a 16h session on maxxed out speed grinding this game not getting it to play the way i want. this video actually safed me from insanity.
@schwarzegeometrie4034 NICE! Glad this helped. FYI I died at level 10 on this run... I'm planning a new run that I think will air next Saturday. Keep an eye on it.
@@okmallgaming wow okay, i dont play permadeath, but around lvl 10 was where i felt i hit the border for most of my builds. i feel like building around dodge is just too hard. but i also havnt tried the athletics tree as much yet.
2h sword Arna was my first character and I went all the way to 30 with her. I went 30 Vit heavy armor instead of Str focus because the heavy armor buffs in RtR swung things too far with heavy armor going from pretty bad to being top tier, make the game easy mode levels of strong. With Arna's passive giving 3% CDR and 3% damage reduction per enemy on screen I could wade into whole screens worth of enemies and just spam parry + brace for impact non-stop keeping Setup and Battle Forge passives rolling at all times and letting counter attacks handle most of the damage dealing with the occasional press of arc cleave to aoe murder multiple enemies at a time after they've been whittled down with counter attacks. Intimidation passive was a big factor in scaling up my damage output late in the run since every counter attack that hit would apply negative crit avoidance penalties to the enemies which translated into higher crit chance for me when I finally pressed Arc Cleave/Hewing Strike. I imagine Arna's passive trait is going to require a nerf at some point because it scales you too hard with volume of enemies on screen, especially if you position well to limit how many can actually attack you at the same time, while the ones waiting in line to die are buffing you into an unstoppable monster. I've cleared t5 dungeons where I've fought 3-4 Robber Barons in bandit and Kingsguard in undead at the same time with multiple lower tier enemies backing them up and never got lower than half hp at which point I'd hit the First Aid button from Survival tree and instantly regen a quarter of my max hp.
@xenthalus wow that sounds amazing! I still have a long way to go before I get to the end game, unfortunately. Streaming and making this playthrough slow my progress vs. just playing the game. I'll have to try that build out some day though.
@tripvic7629 lol I glad to hear that. Truth be told I'm already ready to start another playthrough. But this build will probably last quite a few episodes since I'm playing extra safe
Best place to steal as soon as you start is the drunken woodsmen inn back room, the innkeeper buys everything back immediately for like 400g. Pretty cheesy actually.
@montezuma17900 you talking about the brewery? There is a specific way to do it. I have an old guide in my stoneshard Guides playlist that covers it. That guide is pretty much the same.
@montezuma17900 check this. The biggest difference is where the carpenters plane is located. It's now south of the woodsman inn ua-cam.com/video/TWrMJxaLZKI/v-deo.htmlsi=xY6HMR0vFIv-QRB1
Nice work okmall, sorry ive missed your streams Christmas is busy. I am building a jorgrim myself but i cant find the trainers anymore. Do you know where the 2hand swords and athletics trainer are?
@allengarcia3319 hmm. I've made a RoT dagger build work in the past with little issue. I'm assuming you building into seal of power and electro or pyro to deal more damage. Just run it. I'm sure it will be fine.
@@okmallgaming thank you! yeah planing on the doing an seal of power+electro. Though got this idea of role playing as a ranger that uses geomancy being one with earth ranger. 😅
@allengarcia3319 let me elaborate on my previous response (was running late for work 🙃). What it sounds like to me is mage/melee hybrid. These types of build can be very strong. Whether you choose pyro or electro, you get added magic damage to your weapon. Seal of power and the passive skill directly under are great skills to get to amplify this damage. Mis this with the benefits of RoT and you should begin to see good damage numbers.
@@okmallgaming thank you! That is really helpful. This is what I love about Stoneshard, the creativity for the build. Just makes me think of the different builds once character creator is implemented. Again thank you! 🫡
@@okmallgaming i died 2/3 times in dungoen.. still wondering about light armor vs medium armor for dw.. or maybe use heavy.? stamina is not an issue since i get 15 vit first
@lonelyfa8913 yeah the light armor has me wandering if I'm choosing the right way. I feel the devs want us in medium to heavy gear as melee fighters, and light/magic related gear for rangers and mages.
@@okmallgaming atm still running with 2 medium armor with 2 light (helm and boots).. i gotta say doing tier 2 dungeon i get a lot of damage and need a lot of medicine...
@lonelyfa8913 yeah I feel the same way. Even full medium gear feels lacking in terms of defense. I hope they re balance the gear, especially the light armor.
Currently played as jongrim with dual axe build and I got lucky because the jester carravan visited osborg Got some tier 3 weapon, got 2 rings (-3 fumble each) and some book to help with tier 2 skills Well, Im still noob to this game, I still think stoneshard as skyrim look a like. Finished all the request in mannshire and took a garison quest, and i got i shot by the troll I still figuring out this game actual progressing
@MashKyrielight-u9q sounds to me like you are learning the game well enough. As for the troll, my guess is you took a Boulder to the face 😆. It happens. FYI my dw build died today lv 10, so unfortunately I'll be running a new build next week some time.
@onwww4989 i get that. I prefer a repair guy personally. Especially when you find broken rings. The normal metal repair dudes can't fix them. Of course, at the time I recorded this, i didn't know any of this, lol
I seriously hate this game. I spent 330 hours mastering it, now I can't even do a level 1 dungeon. Crypts have immortal zombies that take 15 hits to kill and revive every 40 turns, so you can't rest. Chapels have runes that spawn blood golems constantly, so a 1v2 room becomes a 1v6. I'm tired of games doing this. Where I learn how to play it, then they turn the difficulty up by an order of 20. There is no reason a level 1 GREEN skull crypt should have 30 zombies with infinitely respawning mechanics.
@IShallCallHimTaders dang. I'm sorry to hear your experience has been bad. I personally haven't seen a dungeon infinity respawn enemies. Nor the blood golem one. The biggest issue i have with level 1 dungeons and the new open style dungeon is enemy groupings. Taking on 2 is usually fine, but 3+ things get dicey.
@okmallgaming it's all good, I found out crafting a single bedroll gives you 250 exp, so I got the boost I desperately needed to actually have a few skills.

Hopefully i do it justice 😆
where is the second video? a tip focus on showing what skill you are leveling, you go through the skills you level very quickly
