This is exactly what I needed. Please take it to a full build, so we can learn where to put skills and why and learn about the other towns/cities. Thanks so much for the content!
@JoshS1 ill consider a full playthrough, but I have another build I'm working on that will be a full run. Different build, however. I do want to get this character leveled up to show off a higher level spear build.
@@MadxDisturbed I've never cared to do this just because I don't like leveling fast. But I'll add it for folks out there trying to get leveled just a wee bit faster.
We need a guide/tip video going over some later game dungeons/mechanics. The bleed mechanic one is brutal on larger dungeons. And the ritural book they want you to nab is a freaking trap! Save it for last. Finallly, the poison dungeon is tough too when more than a single floor. Is there a way to know the mechanic effect before traveling to the dungeon, so you can prepare for the trials? Like taking more bandages or antitoxins? Edit: Quick correction. I am not entirely sure examine surroundings 100% catches everything, even with high perception and the Survival ability that affects it. I play bow Dirwin, and while trying to recruit the Hunter for the Caravan, you have to sneak into a cabin with a minefield of traps in front of it. I had to examine the area half a dozen times to reveal all of them, despite having clear view of the area.
@sereksusvictar7888 i will have to look into dungeon modifiers down the road a bit. I haven't experienced it much myself. The procelyte curse that gets worse over time was definitely difficult and annoying. I'm wandering if that mine field one is a bug, or they intentional.

@attom353 better armor can be obtained via getting osbrook to benevolence. That will only take a quest or two. After you help verren, you'll follow him to brynn and then to mannshire. Currently medium armor but will switch to dodge gear when Brynn quests are done. I really struggled with affording food at the beginning. You need to craft recipes. Once you've done 2-3 quests and buy T2 gear it really takes off !
@Madosatoshist yeah our early game money can be tough. Fodder farming can give us money pretty easily though if need be. So you going full spear tree? And full magic mastery except the seals?. I'm curious as to your build as a whole
@@okmallgaming Full Spear tree, currently still only have the bottom line to unlock. Magic mastery's Seal of Finesse is necessary to reduce fumble and backfire. @nunyabusiness8000 oh nice! Glad it helps. I'm currently working on part 3 of the guide. That should get you to mannshire where I leave the rest in your hands 😆. As for other guides, I'm working on the troll fight first. Leveling this character here and a mage to cover melee and magic against the troll.
Im finding it hard with getting quests and contracts in Brynn, would be nice to get like a guide of what to and what not to in each major city/village?
Glad to see a guide after latest update, not yet seen, but will save it I am confused as I have played 4 nights and restarted 4 time and still cant get through the first contract.......The begining is too brutal for me.
@litinokid my biggest advice since the update dropped is to take advantage of sound. Breaking containers or shouting can be very advantageous when done correctly. It will take some trial and error. But once you get it down you can easily lure enemies in ones and twos. It takes longer to clear dungeons but is by far safer
My advice is to explore the map before taking the 1st contract, level up from a bandit camp or 2, get maybe a better weapon or armor and some skills and then try it.
I was wondering on how good idea would have been a "spear - Geomancy" build . The Xbow was always a must but it has no use when u have to do with 2+enemies so .. i was thinking about Geomancy to compliment damage AND help keep distance + daze .. What do u say?
@@George_Avgeris interesting idea. Run it 😆. I love unique build ideas. Let's face it, i sometimes get caught inside a box. Thinking outside the box like you brings us more diversity to the game.
Not related to gameplay but how do you install and play on the latest patch? Are you playing on a different platform because my Stoneshard on Steam is still at v0.9.1.1. Maybe there's something I am missing so I just wanted to ask. Also, this is a really helpful guide even to experienced players and I'm glad that the game is getting more attention due to the update. Thanks!
@jumong8821 I'm on steam and it just on auto update. I heard ppl using GOG were having issues last week. I would also check properties for stoneshard in steam. Make sure you have auto updates on.
@faizirrizani2858 the reason I don't like bow is it has a higher negative accuracy. Personal opinion is to use a bow only if you are focusing on range mainly and put a point or 2 into a melee skill.
@degzee3630 Honestly, I just saw a low tier broken item, and my brain just went, nope, don't need that, lol. But yes, I should have. My only concern is if there is a merchant to repair it. I have noticed rings and necklaces that are broken can't be repaired in osbrook. I'm not sure if it's a bug or intentional, but it's annoying.
@@okmallgamingit's intentional, you either need a quartermaster to repair it or the jeweler in Brynn. Also most rings are a net profit when repaired at the Brynn jeweler, so even broken ones are valuable.
@dbdeternal3981 i just use middle mouse click to pan the map, and scroll wheel to zoom. I heard some folks having issue with it working. Arrows keys can also pan the map
@kyanthus they way I believe it is they are separated stacks. So eat 1 at 30 stacks, then the second at 30 stacks. The first stack decrease by a turn going down to 29, and the second starts at 30 stack. This is something I'm going to ask on discord right now
@kyanthus ok I just doubled checked. Food buffs act independent from eat other and buffs they provide stack. I also just tested with food that added energy restoration. Eating 1 added 5% for 90t, ate the second and I gained another 5% give 10% extra resto
Hey, Okmall. Apparently the poison problem is still happening around the Osbrook area and its surroundings, approximately 5-6 small map areas, the villagers call it Malady. I don't know if this is a specific event or a bug.
@okmallgaming btw, I got some good glitch 😅, the 1st tier Quiver that only can hold 40pcs Arrow, got glitch I think because my Quiver can hold more then 40, I hold now it's 49 pcs of Arrow 😅, lol. It's nice btw.
Thanks for guide, but i just encounter something strange - after completing 2nd contract in osbrook i gained +400 reputation, but prices from all sellers suddenly increases instead of decreasing. And i still not done brewery quest - only 2 contracts. Maybe you know, is it a bug, or some strange mechanics i don't know about..?
@@okmallgaming Restarted the run a few times and tried to play a bit longer, and it seems that prices (both buy and sell) now fluctuate from day to day, but on average depend on reputation. It just so happens that prices went up as reputation increased..
@presidentialsystemenjoyer oh no lol. I can see that, though. I pretty sure I heard that it used to be that way when the game first released in early access.
This is one of the lucky starts to a playthrough. That crossbow is sweet. You picked up a quiver. Can you use it to store more bolts? Also time to watch stoneshard videos from your channel. New subscriber here 😅
@malasardar3147 it definitely was lucky. Like dang, that xbow is like 800 or so. The quiver that dropped is for arrows, unfortunately. They do have bolt quiver, though. Welcome to the channel!
i am following your guide to start the game and so far ok, now i am Lv6 can you give me some advice on furture point allocation? (agi, str or per, I am now 15 agi, and going to put on per) also any specific skill should I rush first ?( crossbow and two hand spear) Thanks alot!
@litinokid well we don't really need any more points into ranged. Xbows with bodkin bolts are great by themselves. As for the next attribute, you could pop into strength to get more weapon damage, block, body part damage, and crit eff. Also, vitality if you are having some energy issue. I think we can sleep on accuracy in this build. There are spears that give us +acc, and ring and trinkets that do as well. Taking a point or 2 in survival for skinning can be helpful, making extra money. The other passive in survival that deals more damage to enemies you hear is nice to. Helps you locate the enemies so you can lure them more easily. One last thing, how does the build feel? Are you finding it easy to play and progress?
@@okmallgaming thanks for tips! so far it is nice to encounter with enemies.up to two i am.using the lv2 Xbow with range 10, it is able to kill 1 enemy from getting close, or reduce from 2 to 1. but group enemies especially with necromancer is impossible at this moment. but i am satisfactory right now, gradually grind for gear, exp and caravan equipment
@@okmallgaming i hope the dev will provide method to respect , otherwise it is too harsh to start over for another build. the beginnig 2 to3 level is brutal and punishing without much reward. really easy to push away new player. from steam achievement, just 15% player finish the first caravan helper mission
@litinokid it is a bit harsh indeed. But, I have learned a couple of tricks to help us get a lot of early game money. Respect potion I'm torn on. Preferably, I want a console command to add skills, gear, etc so I can test out some build ideas.
1 - Knowledge of the game MATTERS A LOT. Knowing dungeon patterns and enemy strength is so important. It's also influenced by RNG. 2 - Pick a strong build that will make the game much much easier. There are tons of balancing issues in the game.
@Nutrollio well the point was to wait till the items stolen tag falls off. The problem is that now containers will refresh after a while. So this method won't work. Now, if you steal, you are better off taking it to your personal storage chest to wait for the stolen tag to fall off.
@tomkmb4120 they just don't pay attention to the devs and all the work they were doing. I've been in their discord over the past couple years and they frequently tease things they are working on. The review bombing is uncalled for really. 7 days to die was in alpha for 15 or so years and it wasn't getting this much beef. My honest opinion is don't listen to them. Most of those reviews have very low hours played. So they don't have a leg to stand on. It's worth it. In fact join the my discord and the official discord page. I guarantee it will keep you excited for the game and keep you wanting to try different build variations
@@okmallgaming Thanks so much, I hate that it's gotten to the point where that sort of behaviour is a normal part of our consumer culture. I've picked up the game and will join all Discords!
@tomkmb4120 it's really nice too. Friendly folks. You can see the devs answer questions and the community are very dedicated and helpful. It keeps you engaged in the game and helps motivate you to try build after build.
i'm at a dead end... At Osbrook I completed 3 contracts (all), at Manshire I completed 2 contracts (all)... now Verren is telling to go to Rotten Willow for more contracts but it recomends to be lvl 10... and i'm lvl6... what should I do? helppppp
@willys1900 well you could do a few things actually. You could head to the rotten willow to take on 2 contracts. From my experience there are 2 dungeons that are t2 there. Since you cleared mannshire t2 you'll be fine heading over. You could go back to osbrook and rerun the contracts there. Another thing is maybe try exploring the map a bit. Check out the ? locations on the map. And lastly buying commodities and selling them for profit to various vendors for extra coin.
@giolrz8237 during my livestream today we made a ton of money very fast. Plus, it's a battlemage run. Check it out to get some pointers. When I do part 2 of this guide, I'll cover negotiations with the elder for additional money. Pros and cons of doing that and so on.
@MadxDisturbed well I wouldn't say always. The other option is for additional brynn rep at the magistrate. Which is your income is good already, you can focus on brynn to unlock higher tier gear instead.
This video could be far shorter, 1hr is too long and the contents aren't really cut out that much. Good video though, game lacks a lot of guides and you guys make the game easier for newbies.
yeah, I think its more of a Beginners Walkthrough more than a guide tbh. My idea was to explain my way through to the caravan, and then release the reins and let em run free.

@@JohnMHatch glad to help
Glad to see a guide after latest update, not yet seen, but will save it
I am confused as I have played 4 nights and restarted 4 time and still cant get through the first contract.......The begining is too brutal for me.
@MadxDisturbed that's another option, too. Heck, just visiting the surrounding areas gives you xp without fighting.
@@okmallgaming Thank for your guide, i final can survive on 5th trial and finished first two main quest in a night.
@@litinokid Awesome! I'm glad this helped!
I was wondering on how good idea would have been a "spear - Geomancy" build . The Xbow was always a must but it has no use when u have to do with 2+enemies so .. i was thinking about Geomancy to compliment damage AND help keep distance + daze .. What do u say?

Not related to gameplay but how do you install and play on the latest patch? Are you playing on a different platform because my Stoneshard on Steam is still at v0.9.1.1. Maybe there's something I am missing so I just wanted to ask. Also, this is a really helpful guide even to experienced players and I'm glad that the game is getting more attention due to the update. Thanks!
@jumong8821 I'm on steam and it just on auto update. I heard ppl using GOG were having issues last week. I would also check properties for stoneshard in steam. Make sure you have auto updates on.
I think spear good with bow cause when enemy chase you, you can deal a damage with bow and when enemy in range you can change with spear and attack
@faizirrizani2858 the reason I don't like bow is it has a higher negative accuracy. Personal opinion is to use a bow only if you are focusing on range mainly and put a point or 2 into a melee skill.
Why didn't you loot and equip necklace ? 57:57 playtime .
@@okmallgaming you can in Brynn, jewelery store.
@@okmallgamingit's intentional, you either need a quartermaster to repair it or the jeweler in Brynn. Also most rings are a net profit when repaired at the Brynn jeweler, so even broken ones are valuable.
@robertasvaicius4437 yeah I heard about that. Now I look at broken jewelry in a different light
how do you unlock the camera to view further parts of the map
@dbdeternal3981 i just use middle mouse click to pan the map, and scroll wheel to zoom. I heard some folks having issue with it working. Arrows keys can also pan the map
@@okmallgaming Cheers
@dbdeternal3981 Yw!
If I eat multiple food items with hunger change -0.01% (30t) at the same time does the effect stack? Or does it add to the number of turns? 🤔
What mod are you using to speed the game up?
@matheusataide3368 I've been using cheat engine.
Hey, Okmall. Apparently the poison problem is still happening around the Osbrook area and its surroundings, approximately 5-6 small map areas, the villagers call it Malady. I don't know if this is a specific event or a bug.
@qinxart1579 I think it's an event. Check the rep page under osbrook. There should be a event shown there.
@okmallgaming btw, I got some good glitch 😅, the 1st tier Quiver that only can hold 40pcs Arrow, got glitch I think because my Quiver can hold more then 40, I hold now it's 49 pcs of Arrow 😅, lol. It's nice btw.
@qinxart1579 lol how you manage to do that
@okmallgaming and actually can hold 60 on 1st tier Quiver 😅, just put the arrows drag n drop, don't open the quiver
@qinxart1579 omg lol that's hilarious
@@boukyakunosenritsu interesting. Did a situational event happen? Check the rep log and see if there is an event happening.
@@okmallgaming Restarted the run a few times and tried to play a bit longer, and it seems that prices (both buy and sell) now fluctuate from day to day, but on average depend on reputation. It just so happens that prices went up as reputation increased..
@boukyakunosenritsu makes sense. Feels like a living breathing economic system
I keep my map whole time when going dungeons because i thought map on my inventory ensures that pressing M opens map 😭😭
@presidentialsystemenjoyer oh no lol. I can see that, though. I pretty sure I heard that it used to be that way when the game first released in early access.

@Viennas_Sausages i know! A little tilted it's on a guide build and not an official perma run lol
Welcome to the channel!
i am following your guide to start the game and so far ok, now i am Lv6
can you give me some advice on furture point allocation? (agi, str or per, I am now 15 agi, and going to put on per)
also any specific skill should I rush first ?( crossbow and two hand spear)
Thanks alot!
@@okmallgaming thanks for tips!
so far it is nice to encounter with enemies.up to two
i am.using the lv2 Xbow with range 10, it is able to kill 1 enemy from getting close, or reduce from 2 to 1.
but group enemies especially with necromancer is impossible at this moment.
but i am satisfactory right now, gradually grind for gear, exp and caravan equipment
@@okmallgaming i hope the dev will provide method to respect , otherwise it is too harsh to start over for another build. the beginnig 2 to3 level is brutal and punishing without much reward. really easy to push away new player. from steam achievement, just 15% player finish the first caravan helper mission
@litinokid oooh ty then part 2 will help there. I ran into a boss room that was 5+ enemies and pulled then away 1 by 1.
@litinokid it is a bit harsh indeed. But, I have learned a couple of tricks to help us get a lot of early game money. Respect potion I'm torn on. Preferably, I want a console command to add skills, gear, etc so I can test out some build ideas.

"I'll get em" 😆🤣🤣🤣
1 - Knowledge of the game MATTERS A LOT. Knowing dungeon patterns and enemy strength is so important. It's also influenced by RNG.
2 - Pick a strong build that will make the game much much easier. There are tons of balancing issues in the game.
@@warriordx5520 those are good points to make. Tyty
What’s the point of stealing and putting it back in the same storage, like what you did in the elders room?
@Nutrollio well the point was to wait till the items stolen tag falls off. The problem is that now containers will refresh after a while. So this method won't work. Now, if you steal, you are better off taking it to your personal storage chest to wait for the stolen tag to fall off.
I've been tempted by this game but why the hell is everyone in the Steam reviews bitching that this is a 'dead abandoned game'?!
Make guides on how to save money pls and a build of staff electro build 😭
@giolrz8237 during my livestream today we made a ton of money very fast. Plus, it's a battlemage run. Check it out to get some pointers. When I do part 2 of this guide, I'll cover negotiations with the elder for additional money. Pros and cons of doing that and so on.
