I "kilt" my first deer with a kwicke quiver set up just like you had the delta quiver. rope tied on it and hanging on my aa flashlight in a belt pouch. So Many Great tips in this video! One of the best videos Ive seen in a while. So much info.
That Dawgware quiver blew my mind...I've never seen that before...I went to looking for one immediately and found they are bo longer made about the exact same time you said it in the video...a bit more searching and I found "Palmer Bow Works" and their version of the Dawgware...seems close...check them out! Good stuff. I started with the Big Jim strap-on quiver but wanted a separate “roaving- style” quiver like yours. I went with the ‘Alpha quiver’ from Ralph Webb. It’s a great quiver, I made it to where I can attach it to the Waldrop PacSeat and have access to my arrows while walking or sitting and it doesn’t rattle around. I definitely like having a bare bow, especially for ground hunting out of a chair. Thanks for the video!
Good video. I believe on that plains quiver…I would cut the side out of a gallon water jug or plastic milk carton. Fold it over to make a “V”. Either put some weight on it and leave it in the sun, or use a heat gun to make it nearly flat folded. Put it in the bottom of the quiver like a sleeve. The plastic is soft enuff to let the broad heads bite a little, but I believe it would keep them from chewing up the bottom of your quiver.
RC interesting stuff. I don’t like quivers mounted on my bow. Catquiver 70s and 80s. Bounced around 90s different bow mount quivers. Ended up using Simmons tubes in 98 Jerry gave me two of em. Building my own design side stalker soon. Thanks.
I have a 1930s bear quiver. Quiver of course but I found the same thing I didn't really like it. It was well broken in when I got it so it held the arrows but I didn't like reaching for them. I ended up getting one that's like your Dogwood quiver but it's leather. That I really like. It's so easy to get the arrows out so little movement. It's starting to bend but that's not so bad I can still easily reach in to get an arrow. Thanks for this great video
RC another good video. I love the idea of a back quiver but, ou're right about all the movement. I fixed up a cuple old bow quiver something like your Delta quiver. Pretty convenient.
It be great if there was one quiver that would work for all my hunting but it doesn’t. I use three of the same types as you do and working on a fourth as a backpack quiver. Howard Hill quiver is my favorite and when hunting I stuff it with leaves or long grass. It keeps everything quiet and nothing will fall out. In the winter I stuff it with extra clothes like a vest, or a stocking cap, gloves. Works great.

I like the plains quiver you have ... It's very similar to the woodland quiver I make and use... I always take a rectangle of buffalo that will fit inside the bottom... I fold it in half so the buffalo hair is on the inside and put it in the bottom of the quiver... No arrowhead dulling or poking through the quiver that way... Also no rattling either... As far as neck or shoulder muscles pain using a strap, you might try switching to river cane arrows as those cut down on a lot of the weight and for me faster shooting as well as more accurate that manufactured arrows... I have been hunting and fishing with Osage bow and came arrows for 50 years I make myself and sometimes a blowgun with thistle darts... I am also half Sauk Indian... Grew up with the old ways...
Again, enjoyed the video. a lot of us have a collection of quivers if we have been bow hunting very long. each has a purpose that can make it the one to use in a certain situation or not to use. As you said, it is up to what we like or dislike, experience can trump the decision for us. I have various store bought besides the numerous ones that I have made. I have even made one out of bamboo, while it looks cool, it is way too heavy to carry so it is a house quiver to store arrows in. I have always struggled with the out and out back quivers, just don't like them. But lower down is a lot more doable for me. With me vision struggles right now, knapping a head is totally out of it but I plan to make some out of old saw blades for my river cane arrows. While I have acquired many archery things that were store bought or made by someone else, I do my best to avoid doing so and try to make a lot of mine. Like most of my selfbows, I do have one that was made and given to me by a very good friend James. Your videos are very common sense videos and common man like. And yes, most of my hunting area is a grown up mess, very little actual open woods to hunt. Everything is very grabby and noisy besides the ticks and chiggers. And I am glad to see that I am not the only one that the gnats like. I shoot mainly two blades with a few 3 blades. all can be file sharpened or stone. Thanks for the awesome videos, just wish that you lived a lot closer lol
I had a Bear 6 arrow bow quiver (spring type). Didn't like it. Now I have a Howard or Jerry Hill back quiver. Not sure I like that also. Like you said, if you bend down the arrows will be on the ground. Years ago, I remember a hip quiver that would hold the arrows stationary. I think that would be the way to go.

With my compound quiver tapped arrow twice went twack a twack. That twice cost me a nice big moose. Ugg. Subscribed. Drop by. Tube shadow banned my channel after 2015 hunting video

The best quiver is the one that works best for you. Hunting? I only use a on bow quiver. Practicing hunting use what I use to hunt. ease? I use the dirct. - I gather my arrows walk back to my shooting spot and stick them in the ground. 3D/target? back pocket quiver and sometimes hip Back quiver? never
I bone out the meat and put it in a sack in my back pack. No matter where I am I will be back at the truck or boat in 30 minutes. I have a cooler of ice in the boat or truck.
This is not about quivers but where can I get me a good bowstring for my 60 inch Blackhunter bow I live in east central AL not far from GA they is no place anywhere close to get any archery equipment

It has been said that the way to break in a HH quiver fast is to put it under a couch cushion and when folks sit on the couch it will break it in.
I choose based on the bow I carry , the terrain and weather .

I like Donnies Quivers from creek walker trading and great northern. Ive also got a thunder horn that I like but it slips on my limbs.

Built 2 quivers with corn beef tins, some 1x1 nail strip, a couple other things. Sling it over a shoulder. Cost maybe $5 apiece.
I have a Safarituff quiver that I like. Keeps the arrow covered fletch to point. Bottom access.
Pricey but they work.
Love my old dawgware with the pockets . Still going strong

July, Georgia peach time. One thing everyone should experience in life, is a big ole, juice running off your elbow, sweet to the seed Georgia peach.
Made a back quiver with the hide from a bear's front leg but like you can't use them to hunt.
