Hotch's faces at 1:38, 2:27, 2:38, 2:53, 5:20, 6:11, and the "JJ, you don't have to." shows just how much Hotch picks up from JJ and how much he cares about her.
JJ talking about her sister's suicide was the hardest thing she had to do in Season 5. Her compassion about Hotch recently losing Haley to murder was inspirational. I lost my mother to lung cancer twenty-five years ago, now, and I now give compassion to anyone who loses a parent even if I don't know them. I think of JJ saying "It does get better." whenever I do. But that sad look on her face at 9:20 I would have hugged her right there if I were Hotch or Reid. I also lost a cousin who was only 21 to suicide nearly five years ago. JJ was right. Losing someone so young isn't easy!
"Loosing someone deep related is never easy.. But one day it does get better, her remembrance won't hurt that much", she got hell of courage to keep standing up, to keep smiling and bring comfort to hear team though she's been struggling
Didier Bizimama, LOSING someone and HER team. JJ was talking about Haley not Roz when she said to Hotch "One day you will remember her and it won't hurt". This episode aired shortly after Haley's funeral.
it's been about a million years since i've seen this episode. but as soon as JJ put the necklace on i knew it was this one. AJ is so good in this episode. i'm surprised this didn't get her an emmy nomination.
I love this episode "North Mammon". AJ Cook & Thomas Gibson are wonderful actors. The other cast members are also, but these two brings sparks to this show as well as unaware love for each other.
things that made this show great are little things like the tension when jj was explaining that people who are thinking of suicide blurt out i love you that little profiling moment was great.
Thanks so much for making this compiliation! JJ was amazing last night (as always) AJ really brought out JJ's sadness and I'm happy that JJ got a sense of closure as she opened up to Hotch at the end.
i just noticed that when they were on the plane and she started talking about the love thing that everyone look at her with like deep concern trying to figure out if she was okay.
I just saw this episode on SUNDANCE TV tonight and JJ had a lot of empathy for the surviving families of the kids who seemed to commit suicide. I didn't understand the "spontaneous act of love" part JJ said until I saw Season 14's episode The Tall Man which really explained to JJ what and who exactly caused her sister Roz to commit suicide in the first place. JJ is the type of person that you wish you could hug all of her hurt and pain away, but that pain has made her the person who wanted to take this suicide case in the first place. I noticed in JJ's last episode in Season 6: JJ, that after the missing victim of two rapists was found alive that JJ was wearing her sister's necklace at the hospital while she was talking to that girl's father. It's hard not to love a character like JJ!
this episode just played yesterday on re-runs, oh my goodness look at how large her eyes are when she is doing the scene with hotchner on the plane, she is just a lovely girl, the new blond on the show is a poor poor poor poor replacement. poor
This was Season 4 when JJ told Hotch about her sister, but in Season 14 episode 5: The Tall Man JJ and the rest of the team find out during a case in her home town exactly why her sister committed suicide.
JJ is like Garcia. The glue that holds this team together. As much as I love Prentiss if AJ had left the show as long as Paget did the show couldn't have survived. The producers pushed that envelope once and nearly lost the show. Thank God they came to their senses. PROTECT JJ AT ALL COSTS!
i loved this episode. but did anyone else notice that J.J. (AJ Cook) was trying to help suicidal teens out and in her earlier career she appeared in the movie virgin suicides where she and her 5 sisters committed suicides. so thought of that connection.
What I find ironic about this episode is that AJ Cook played a suicidal sister in the film The Virgin Suicides. Her character in that film was the exact opposite of who she's playing in this episode.
I take all her roles pre criminal minds, as deep character puzzle pieces that makes JJ, I believe AJ did that as well as the others in the cast, it’s why they work well, not to mention who they are as people bleeds into their characters, another reason they work so well
“Experience is a brutal teacher. But you learn. My god, do you lean.” C. S. Lewis. This made me think about the time my siblings got into a car accident. My heart stopped. I couldn’t breath for at least a good 3 minutes. My mind was racing but I couldn’t keep up with what questions to ask first. I wanted to cry but the importance of when and where and who was driving was more important to me. Then wondering if my parents knew and if my siblings were actually okay. It was the longest most stressful day of my life because my siblings are my entire world. So when I think about this quote, and what I’ve learned, it’s hat even the most experienced drivers can make a mistake. That tomorrow isn’t promised. That your world could change in the blink of an eye. Nothing else mattered to me when this happened. Not how annoyed I had been by my siblings before. Not how pissed off I was because they didn’t pull their weight at home with the chores. Nothing. I loved them and there was nothing worse than thinking they were gone. It took everything in me to not fall apart when I got the call. I knew I needed to find them and make it all alright because that’s the job being the oldest sibling is. You’re the protector of all your parents kids. You carry the weight of all the BS and moments. I appreciate that job more because I came so close to losing it last year.
I absolutely loved this episode. I think JJ is a wonderful character and having an episode centric around her and some of her backstory. I can't really say why, but I'm not overly fond of how it starts - the way she comes to Hotch with the case... I dunno, it just felt too overt. But the rest of the episode; especially the scenes on the plane were amazing. I like how she slips things out, like "if" etc... realistic and beautifully acted! I really love how she helped Hotch at the end too...
I've got to be honest, I never really appreciated JJ until the end scene, before that and she really just seemed like she was there for the sake of having another character.
Most of my friends are obssed with what looks good and what doesnt but then theres me, I know most of there back stories, who is played by who this year all I want for christmas(due to my bday is over now) is criminal minds stuff .... Mcbenderble 37 she is like 36 not 40! but yeah she looks young, like Matthew and she is gorgeous
maga Encina she's actually 39
It has to do with her not using botox. It actually makes people look worse
