Battle Circuit is the very last beat em up Capcom did in the traditional fashion of 2D sidescroller originally on arcade. It was at the finalization of the death of mainstream arcades, and Capcom was at a point it was beginning to prioritize general appeal. So with beat em ups losing their appeal due to short play-through time, more console based interpretations of its core mechanics like Devil May Cry and in effect, the stylish action subgenre, succeeded them. Even action RPGs like Dark Souls and Kingdom Hearts started using their aspects, so what's the point of making a 3 hour game for not even that much profit.

The shorter answer is Capcom would just rather endlessly shake the money tree that is Street Fighter and Resident Evil. Otherwise you'd think they could just take something wacky like Battle Circuit and do it DMC style.

Yellow is verry vanilla capcom, Blue is 90s cyber punk , Pink is kids anime, Green is stright out of a b horor film, Silver screems golden age commics, the manager is from 80s cartoons, and Dr.Saturn is stright out of 1960s cartoons. Its as if Drawn Together was a super hero show.
