This song brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it, it reminds me of myself way too much. I'm tired of waking up early, taking an hour long trip to work, working 8.5hrs for an absolute asshole, 1 hour trip home, having no time to myself, slightly recovering on the weekend and then repeating. Great work guys, really touching song.
Me too brother.the monotony of work and it never ending.the struggle..unhappiness.I do it for my family at the end of the day.they rely on me and the warm embrace from my wife and family keep me going.I’m with you Liam💪❤️
@@jtuckers1 Thank you for your concern. I still work there, but as a contractor now. I work on my own terms as such. I was a poor apprentice back then, started fresh out of highschool in 2017.
One of the best bands of Australian history. People try to make comparisons but Cog sounds like cog to me, its original and awesome.( Aboriginal flag emoticon)
byronde Saw them 10 times and imo they eclipse Tool as the best shows I've seen. Unbelievably powerful, nothing honestly comes close imo... Cant wait for the occupants to start touring!!! I still think Cog will reunite someday maybe in like 5 years or something.
I had a ticket to Cog when I was living in Sydney but I was so fucking shagged from working a night-shift then going to Soundwave (Faith No More, 2009 or 2010 I think) I couldn't make it. Seen Soundgarden 11 times all up, (Tool x 6) mostly in Aus (I'm a Kiwi)...best band ever IMO but Cog...helluva band. And Tool, well if it wasn't for Soundgarden and Killing Joke, they'd prob be my all time favourite.
this song went up on my discover weekly playlist on spotify... and I love it... STRONG CHORUS...melodically... great work...thank you for this piece of music...
As are parkway drive's lyrics. As for the sheer improbability of making out anything Winston says, agreed. It's hard. I just listen to them as a whole. I love Cog and Parkway.
@AuSNlPE I'd recommend listening to the rest of this album as this is probably the least impressive track on it. The rest should blow you away, but if not, then I feel sorry that you're missing out on an incredible band. have a good one : )
@AuSNlPE You my friend must not play an instrument or understand music at all because these guys are geniuses. They write powerful and emotional music that connects with how the world really is.
@John peoplefox: True, Karnivool are nothing short of amazing, but them being comprised of more talented musicians certainly isn't true. In terms of vocal, guitar, and bass talent, they're all on par, but without a doubt, Lucius is a way better drummer than Steve. And I certainly wouldn't say that they write better songs than Cog, either. Going by that, it's safe for me to say you've only heard "My Enemy". If you took the time to listen to Cog's other stuff, you'd realise they have very meaningful lyrics.
@13dirty666 But it's a good mo, the kind of one that says "I'm in the greatest band on Earth, and my music just keeps getting better." It's a good mo to have.
karnivool has definitely achieved more and is comprised of musicians allot more skilled. Defs worth checking out as they write better songs and have more mature taste.
I sure hope this opinion has changed, Lucius is one of the best drummers on earth, not a chance Karnivool's drummer is better. Karnivool achieved more because their music is an easier pill to swallow for first time listeners, we are all part of a niche fandom and the majority of us grew to love Cog.
Karnivool stuck to the rules, COG didn’t give a F. Karnivool are still an average, commercial band, at best. If you still don’t think COG write well, you don’t understand their music, at all.
Love COG but there is a certain naivety to all of this, which is not a criticism...and I guess it is an assault on Australian conservatism but we must NOT be western and smug about this - MOST culture is conservative and generally the SPACE only opens up when rich people on drugs allow it. So what are WE going to do?
When inanities like this flit through your noggin, it really is best if you just let them fly out and get on with being confused about less abstract things, like the toaster or shoes or what have you. Hope this helps clear things up, Mum.

Cog and Testeagles are my favourite for sure
Cog are one of the greatest Aussie bands ever.
For me they are the greatest, closely followed by Silverchair
karnivool too
@@Bread_Naan My nigga.
Different vein but Hilltop Hoods too…
Here in 2024, 34 yrs old. Would love to see them live. Loved these guys in my teens.
Re-Listening to this incredible song and album. Wow. It is only more relevant today than when I first heard it.
Listening this as a warmup for Monolith festival in Brisbane tomorrow, great to see Cog live again, in fact great just to have live music again!!
I'm going through their back catalogue after Monolith. What a performance for the ages 👏
Australia produces the best Alt records, ain't gonna lie.
Best 3 piece band I have ever seen. Preferred seeing Cog live at the HiFi over seeing Muse at Big Day Out.

This is the most lyricaly genius song from a great australian band! COG!
Only just discovered these guys in 2021. Love this tune.
One of my favourite film clips from that year.
Wow 11 years ago this was uploaded. Ray was here. 🤪

pretty good
The drummer's transition fills give me a chubby
Fun fact: I was 18 again for 3:40
along with Karnivool..

No, he's right. COG is way better than AC/DC. COG is, IMO, the best band to come out of Oz.
@meushubris what? if that makes you sleep better at night......good work......
@metaljazz101 really? come to Australia....
look up the band velopus , from sydney
Nice video
it's not loading for me :(

No love for parkway?
In what sense? Parkway have nothing to do with this band lol
Parkway is terrible.
I think I was replying to someone ages ago, no bloody idea to be honest.
@13dirty666 But it's a good mo, the kind of one that says "I'm in the greatest band on Earth, and my music just keeps getting better." It's a good mo to have.
Check out the Hanging Tree... pre Cog...
I had a precognition you were going to say that.
+Sound Gardener 😎
....its 1984.....
@MrTBogan its callled a catfish
100k views....what the fuck is wrong with people......????
singer looks like klingon from original Star Trek tv show
i think he likes catfish
why the fuck would someone say that?
parkway is shit tier compared to cog dude, you cant understand a word the lead singer says in parkway.. Also cogs lyrics are amazing

Ben Chesterman Blindspott are a great band. Karnivool are just to commercial for me these days. They used to be alright many years ago.
@@wishb0ne I don't like lead singer voice, Damian rap & yell well
wow u have no taste in music!

Jonathan Warren Carroll seriously? Everything that Cog produced is far better than Rush lol...except maybs YZ...
