I only discovered this band a few years ago and they quickly became one of my favorite bands of all time. Where has this been all my life?
They truly are an amazing band!
Brilliant song, depicting the lead singers hard life and his attempt to "Make things Better" and how he is trapped in society, wanting to be free.

I am an american musician who had never heard of Cog untill my band played in Melbourne. We were the opening act for some major international bands. Just before one of the headlining acts was about to go on, I noticed a small group of people leaving the concert. I asked what was going on, and one of them told me that they were going to see Cog, and, recognizing me from the show, invited me to come along. So, I ditched my band during load out to go see them. MY MIND WAS BLOWN!! Been hooked since.

I remember seeing a local band at maroochydore called melodessey and there was a promotion for cog. So i went and seen them at the dirty sands tavern in maroochydore and low and behold the band before them was "dead letter circus" well before they had been discovered. And holy shit what a night, dead letter killed it and cog sounded lile a 5 peice and they are but 3 bogans from bondi.. awesome dudes.
I remember missing this gig because I was underage.

Local boys i used to know lance and the drummer luke, luke ended up playing for dead letter circus later on

This band is so underrated. F*uck I love being an Aussie. Unlike "that other country" our music is real. Karnivool, Bliss n eso, Hilltop Hoods, Art vs Science, Temper trap, Birds of Tokyo...You name it. We're Real =]

That bands timing together is out of this world they change rythyms so much. The drummer goes from syncopated metal to reggae to everything in one song.

Zero ego with these guys
Just by looking and listening to Lucius plays the drums you could tell he is talented. I mean, just listen to the drummers in the mainstream bands. All they do is create simple beats and that gets them enough attention from millions of people. Lucius probably works his ass off to try to satisfy a small group of people. Nonetheless, it is good to see, and great to hear!

Isn't it enough that you all like COG?, Why complain about how they are not outrageously famous when u kno and love them as they are? Anyway, give them a few years, and they probably will rise in some way through the industry, with music like that.
From the first moment I heard these bogans I made sure every single one of my mates was exposed to the cog virus. So after 13 or so years i have left a trail of cases of incurable Cog obsession over three states. At this stage there is no cure I'm happy to say.

Does anyone know the lyrics being sung in the background of the final chorus? I hear the word "sacrifice" but before and after that it's jumbled. Ive looked all over the internet but it seems no one has any lyrics available for that part.

sounds like every other band out today. the lyrics are much more in depth though, i will give it that. but the comment about the extremely talented and rare drummer, is either false or australia REALLY needs to learn to play drums
Don't judge them on one song. The rest of their stuff is very diverse, and not at all generic. Also, the drummer is actually quite incredible. Once again, you're judging them off one song. Don't do that; it makes you look stupid.
