This is great! It really helps to see how it goes together. I don't know what CAD product you used to create this model and animation, but if it supports the features necessary, it would be very interesting to see the void space created inside of the masonry as a separate model. It is hard to visualize the space where the fire is lit and how the gases flow on the way out to the chimney, but if the void space was separately visible as a "solid" modeled part, that could be shown separately, it would visualize how it works easier. I think I got the flows after watching the video several times, and the section cuts views helped a lot.
Adrian, the best design I've seen so far!! Bravo! Question 1: the pull out slat top back of the oven, if inserted, does this heat up the oven or cool it down? Question 2: Slat at back, top of structure, where chimney rise begins, if pulled out does this cool down the whole structure faster?
Have a look at the section in the clip. You will understand it. First gate is for warming up the fire place, when te smoke will go directly upwords and exit to chimney. When pulled, the hot smoke will go down heating the entire stove. Se second gate it will stay open as long you have fire in the stove. That gate will be close when fire is done, and that will keep the hot air inside the stove.
Do you have a rough estimate on btu output if burning good dry wood ( oak )??? Or square footage this would serve. It gets to 40 and 50 below zero F where I live. Thanks, just a rough estimate would be appreciated.
My question is: is the vertical slit in the rear of the firebox to admit air for a secondary burn in that corner of the firebox, or does it allow hot gases out? Since outside the slit is regular brick, I do not think it is to let combustible hot gases out. It looks like there are air passges in the ash box door to let air in. I'd like to know the airflow dynamics that would support letting the firebox suck air in that slot, since the main exhaust flow in the chamber outside the firebox slit has to go downwards right there in the inner rear vertical chamber.
Where can I buy all those metal doors, please? Tell me any web or shop in Spain where I could buy them. There is not any problem regarding the oven door. Nevertheless , the problems would arrive if I wanted to pue Jade the small ones.
If only I could develop or get some expert to develop a CO/CO2/particulate capture system, this would be perfect for that unrealizable dream log cabin in the mountains. Minimal use of downed trees for heat and the minimal impact on the environment (CO2). I'd actually learn to bake pies, but I'd start with pizzas and bread.
Sooooooo.....like 2000 Canadian dollars for everything is my guess....I counted 150 fire bricks and 600 other bricks .....ok mabey 4000 dollars .....what do you think....remember I'm Canadian, so keep the big words for your other friends ,and give me the small words...thanks from nova scotia Canada....
The chambers up in the chimney there, if I'm not mistaken, are for smaller fires. You light a small fire there and that begins a draught. If you don't light the small fire there first, before lighting the big fire underneath, then as the fire starts to take hold, smoke will billow out of every crevice in the unit. So you instead, start a small fire up there to begin the draught process, and this in turn will start drawing air up the flue. Now when you light the big fire underneath, the smoke will be drawn right out the chimney and not into your home. Great example here... ua-cam.com/video/r_TO30jzyUA/v-deo.html
@@user-mt4zr5kp7h I think that the iron dasmpers are pulled out to open an almost straight up flow for starting the fire, then when closed the main flow is from the firebox into the interior thin vertical chamber where some heat rises for the oven but the main flow is back down to the bottom, then up the rearmost vertical chamber , through the two horizontal serpentine chambers, then out the chimney. My question is: is the vertical slit in the rear of the chamber to admit air for a secondary burn?

Best masony animation YET..!
Please do more..they are very INSTRUCTIVE..! Thanx
Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to explain it so fully. Much appreciated.
This heater looks really really cool. Do you have the sketch up plans for it?
Saludos cordiales desde Quito Ecuador excelente trabajo
Muchas gracias. Saludos desde Rumania
This is amazing masterpiece mason art! All the cast iron doors and what not where do you go to get that stuff?

Salut la toti. Am o intrebare, pentru soba in clopote este nevoie de ursoaica in pod?
Buna seara!
Well, now I can get to work building one for myself. 😒

Yes, that gap is for "cold" gases to escape first.

Where can you purchase the plans in English to build this stove
You already have the video. I did not have a plan for it but if you want you an printscreen layer by layer from the movie.
Absolutely outstanding

se poate monta shi registru in primul clopot?

4.5 x 9 x 2.5 inch standard size bricks???
How many fire bricks?....how many other bricks....I'm just kinda pricing everything out...I can buy 6 bricks for 45bucks....Canadian....
You can number the layers and multiply by how many are on one layer.

Why there are 2 separate chambers on the rear, behind the fireplace and cooking hoven? what's the purpose of it?
One chamber for the fire and the other to keep hot air inside instead of waisting it directly through the chimney, it is more more efficient.
