Those little cups are called "Birds Nest Fungus". They look weird, but totally harmless. They aide in the breakdown/decomposition of woody materials. No harm. Just another little cool part of nature.

Garden Answer Laura, I love it when you talk about how plants and gardening feed you. It’s really visceral isn’t it? Gotta get your hands in the dirt! Thank you so much for feeding us in the winter. I can only see white outside my house in Michigan right now. LOVE the long videos! I just want to touch all the plants! I wish we lived closer so we could hang out in the greenhouse! You always make me smile! 😎

Hi Laura! If you tie a LONG piece of string to a middle grommet in your shade cover, wrap the other end of the string around a tennis ball, then throw the tennis ball over the roof of one side of the greenhouse....you can now pull the shade cover over the top of your greenhouse as the tennis ball with the string is now on the opposite side of the greenhouse from where you're standing with shade cover.

Dreamy place, even in winter!! 💖
I'm desperately checking at my plants for new growth every day, deciduous plants make me so nervous!! My Forsythia does have some blooms and lots of buds, which make me so happy, this winter already feels so long...
Russell is the cutest!!!! Don't poke him while he's up there though, I did that to my furry boy when he got up on the tent and it's his favourite game now, whenever I go outside he jumps up there and meows to provoke me!! 😂

Thanks so much for the tour! It is great to see your setup there. I also have an unheated greenhouse that is 10 x 18, and I would definitely fill up one as large as yours if I had it! My citrus is blooming in there now and the smell is so heavenly! We’ve had such a mild winter that everything thinks it’s spring, but of course, starting tonight we are supposed to be in the low 20’s for several nights...😩 All gardeners deal with Mother Nature’s mood swings, so I’m sure we will recover! Have a great day and thanks again for all you two do! 💚♥️🌿

Being someone who is born and raised in a climate where I can garden all year, its fascinating to see all the plants in a dormant state. We do have plants here that go dormant, but not that much. It gives me a perspective that it doesn't matter where you are, everything needs a break during the year. I can't wait to see your glorious spring show this year

I have one in a hanging basket that lives outdoors in the summer and I bring it inside before the frost. Hi Laura,
Wonderful video!! I do really love your coldframe but I'm really hoping you can save up and buy a hartley botanic, because you absolutely deserve one
Thanks for sharing but could you possibly do a plant room tour too?
    Thanks, love from India

I would LOVE to have one... dreaming about it is fun, too! Especially as I’m starting SO many flowers from seed this year...a heated greenhouse would be so handy! 💚

Your greenhouse is a gardeners dream. I love that you reuse your plants and keep them from year to year. And you have your tags in them. What a wonderful idea. Great video. Tfs. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Loved this video Laura. Last year I bought a small temporary pop-tent style greenhouse and put it up on my deck right outside my back door. It was a big help for starting seeds and hardening off plants, however a greenehouse like yours is my greenhouse dream.

Hi Laura and Aaron! This was a fun tour of your cold frame. I'm happy for you that you have it to over winter your plants. Russell is so funny, and naughty! The tables Aaron built are really awesome! Thank you for sharing!

So dangerous lol I feel as though if I build as big of green house as I want, I will probably feel the need to fill it 😂. Husband's end up in the dog house, I'll end up in the green house!!!

Jasmine French I feel the same way about a greenhouse. I would have to fill it up and just sit in there and admire everything. 😊

We purchased 3 of the Hoselink hoses and installed them on three sides of the house. They make watering, washing the vehicles so much easier! Thanks for your recommendation! Would not have known about them otherwise.

I love your greenhouse, wish I could have one! I took lots of notes during the video and will be looking for some of those plants in the spring. Russell always makes me laugh, silly kitty. You have taught me so much, I found myself identifying some of those plants before you mentioned what they were just from watching your videos.

😄 I, too, was wondering about those plants that you commented about at the end. Thank you for editing in that info.
Love your cold frame and your set-up to keep things organized, as well as easy access to water for all of the plants.
Look forward to seeing many of those plants in your landscape.

I do really love to see your green house this cold weather. And I can see a lot of plants that you saved from frost which is awesome. You dont need to buy again for some of the plant you saved. Thank you for all the information you are sharing to us.
