I agree on Marina Rebeka, but I think it's important to point out how wonderful of a baritone Ludovic Tézier is. Too bad he doesn't get much press as he is not a tenor, but at least they FINALLY made him record a Verdi recital last year. Tank god.
i am old, and i fondly remember Beverlly Sills in that role, with Sherrill Mills, at the Met. Maybe not a great opera, but there are some wonderful bits of music, and there remains nthing like my first time. The Monte Carlo costumes seem very strange.
