2008 to 2010 I listened to her Night Vision, using it as a lullaby. Nowadays I use several Björk's songs as lullabies. But this video suggestion, has reminded me Suzanne's warm voice.
I am a fan of hers since the late 80s but I LOVE her when she sings this song and I love that little boy and yearn to protect him and see the wrong made right.
Cette chanson me berce , me fait rêver , me transporte dans un monde merveilleux 😂 C'est vrai que je ne comprends pas ces paroles puisque je suis Français ! Mais c'est pas ça l'essentiel C'est elle et sa musique ❤
Love massive to you and your team. Have been listening to this song since in my primary grade schooling days in 1990. Still listening to this date from PNG. #luka
January 10, 2023 - Austin Happy Birthday Angel/Candlekin Shawn Colvin Goddess King of Orion Broken Fairytales - inspired by and co-written with Goddess Suzanne Vega I remember that dream the calm where your breath could fill my sails my heart was safe in your sailor’s palm your stitches sure, love never fails - but time has worried loose the balm into eternity’s wake our season trails I’m now content to drift in that tide with the flotsam of broken fairytales - I’ll float in the sun till these tears are dried among these broken fairytales but I’m not afraid of dreams and not too proud again to fail if this love’s not all it seems - perhaps alone amid your siren’s wail the cloth I’ll find, the sailor’s twine the skill to bind up all this debris gather it blind from across the sea - toward home I’ll sail from far away this broken fairytale under a fair sky toward home I’ll sail this broken fairytale with you - end - My dear beloved blessed eternal badass Angel/Candlekin. I remember when I wrote this before I'd ever heard of 'On My Own' which you had covered way back in the 70s in Austin. I'd never heard of it until I heard you do it around 2007 so I looked up the lyrics and realized you had left out the verse about someone being the "broken part of a living fairytale" and it seems so synchronistic now. I never heard anything about why you left that verse out. Anyway, my use of the term 'broken fairytale' is similar to the idea in 'On My Own' but totally separate. Just another interesting point of synchronicity along the way. I love you forever. Peace Thank you Suzanne. Kisses
Wow;she looks and sounds beautiful.
She still has it and the song is still a masterpiece!
Ik ben een sterk Amsterdammer😊

Broken Fairytales - inspired by and co-written with Goddess Suzanne Vega
I remember that dream the calm
where your breath could fill my sails
my heart was safe in your sailor’s palm
your stitches sure, love never fails
-
but time has worried loose the balm
into eternity’s wake our season trails
I’m now content to drift in that tide
with the flotsam of broken fairytales
-
I’ll float in the sun till these tears are dried
among these broken fairytales
but I’m not afraid of dreams
and not too proud again to fail
if this love’s not all it seems
-
perhaps alone amid your siren’s wail
the cloth I’ll find, the sailor’s twine
the skill to bind up all this debris
gather it blind from across the sea
-
toward home I’ll sail from far away
this broken fairytale
under a fair sky toward home I’ll sail
this broken fairytale
with you
-
end

This is about a girl.
The most beautiful song about such a horrible topic, child abuse.
