Changing the grease in a Mercedes 190e Mono wiper.

- In this video, I remove the monowiper from a Mercedes W201and change all the grease for new grease inside the mechanism. This potentially applies to all Mercedes models with a monowiper fitted but may not cover that model fully so would have to just take this video as entertainment.

Just a tip for anyone working on or near the windscreen - don't use impact or ratchet tools. I inadvertently cracked my BMW windscreen after working on the area on the bulkhead behind the engine near the windscreen. I happened to use a "mild" ratchet driver to re-fit some self-tapping screws. This caused a crack which didn't actually show up on the day but was there the day after. Bad news. Be careful.
Thank you, I don't currently own any power tools so to say so shouldn't be an issue for a while.
Thank goodness subtitle is available
Thank goodness there are other videos you can watch if you don't like my voice
Thanks for your help, I've just bought a 190e and it's the first job I need to do, the wiper won't park in the right position when it stops 👍
I'm glad my video helped, it should help make the wiper faster.
This is very funny upload timing, I just performed exactly the same thing to my 190e quite a painful job but I am hoping I saved myself some money!
Very painful indeed and can take a long time.
Thanks for the videos man, iam doing the same jobs on my 190e
Thanks for the comment, easy job to do but just very time consuming.
Muffler on the mike for windy exteriors would work fine. Appart that...neat video.
Yes that is definitely on the wish list so to say, but I will be buying a external mic adapter soon so I can use my external ones which have the mufflers on.
Very nice video!! Thanks for sharing!! Now i can fix my Mono wiper!! :) God Bless you!!
You're welcome, hope it helped.
Good vid and good effort many thanks but tell me you didn’t disassemble on the gravel scratching away there on the face plate why lol ?
Yes I did, simply because at the time I was planning to get it freshly painted.
Great video !!! Quick question: How did you manage to separate the two parts? At min 9:29 you take the nut off then at min 9:35 when you wiggle the two parts the nut is back. I'm asking because on mine it seem that they can only be separated if i use some sort of bearing puller, i can wiggle it till tomorrow and still will not come apart. Thank you again for the great video !
Yeah I cut the clips together as when I was separating the two parts I forgot to make sure I was doing it on camera and I didn't record it, you don't need a puller although it probably would be quicker and a lot easier. When I do this I just use a long screw driver and lever the mechanism against the wiper and eventually it will pop off. I put the nut back on after so when wiggling the wiper it doesn't just drop and sometimes they need a little persuasion (make sure you put the wiper straight up as there is a little slot for the gear inside to come out otherwise the gear can get damaged as can be seen at 9:47 ).

Thank you, I have to go this job on my other 190 so will film that, hopefully better.
very Nice video Bravo continued like this, I have a question the cabin filter is located? I am impressed that such an important filter is missing !!, I have heard that until 1993 it did not have the facelift then the manufacturers put a cabin filter.
I too am surprised that the 190 does not have one, I believe no 190 had a cabin filter at all.
exactly, also the w124 but also the other models until 1993 1994 did not have cabin filters, it would be very interesting and useful some patent for cars that do not have a cabin filter is extremely important for our health especially in areas with a lot of dust and pollen.
@@Godofworistas Would be nice to have one, but to my knowledge, there is no way to retrofit one.
awesome, thanks Sir
You're very welcome.
Anyone know if it's possible to retrofit the post facelift W124 wiper onto the pre-facelift cars? I think the post-lift wipers clamshell comes off more easily.
The wiper housing should but the frame that bolts to the car will not.
@@OnTheDriveok, thank you for reply. I should have known it wouldn't be that easy 😅
Good job, thanks
Thank you very much.
Thanks..
You're welcome.

Your Welcome.
Jesus man, get a muffler for your micro, or filme it indoors on windy days, `cause we can`t understand half the things you say.
