I have been looking for good ways to do this. Thanks a lot, the plumbing is not something people tend to show in there tiny houses.
Thanks for including all the product links! It really helps to cost out a similar system. Glad to hear that after 4 years of regular use, you are still happy with your set-up!
So fascinating. Never thought living simple can be not so simple, and had no idea what living tiny was like, so I'm glad I stumbled upon your account!
One of the best video I have seen yet. I have garage I want convert into a tiny house without plumbing. Thank you
This was packed full
Of great information
Hi Jana Great tour of your Tiny home water source Thank you for showing us
I came here for water pump ideas and definitely enjoyed the video. All the best!
Thanks, Shannon! I love how practically your plumbing system has been designed: side-by-side with sink and shower. Although I won't put one together myself, your design provides a great tool in speaking with builders "to keep things simple' for my future use and understanding. At 74+, my physical abilities are not what they were; however, that does not lessen the desire to have my own THOWs created with simplicity for the freedom it will provide. Your journeys over the past few years have definitely been exciting. Thanks for continuing to share!
Very well explained. I never write comments anywhere but this was well deserved. Keep 'em coming!
Love the beginning of the video..lol 💕
Your tiny house is beautiful and cozy 😍
Thanks for explaining everything so clearly, that was very helpful!
What did you guys think of my new single? I might make an album soon... ;)
Tiny House Giant Journey totally rocking! 🤘😎🤘
Can become a cool concept album, "The sounds of tiny living" :-)
Love your music of the dishes.
Might debut on the Billboard 👓
Do you want a bathroom sink in your Tiny House? Or would you rather keep it simple, like mine?
Keep it simple. If you ever adventure to New York you're welcome to park your house on my farm for awhile. Great channel!
I'd definitely want a sink, even if it's just a teeny tiny one (20x30 cm or something). Reason being, I use a menstrual cup and washing it potentially over the dishes inbetween uses... nope.
If I ever go tiny, a bathroom sink is a must. Personally, bathroom germs need to stay in the bathroom! As a woman, other things are considered, too. (See comment above.)
I had a house built once. Our county would not approve a bathroom off the kitchen. We put a laundry room in between. That worked.
simplify is always a good practice, less is more... less bullshits means more freedom.
I was either thinking at a squat toilet in the shower plate squeezing the bathroom to a square meter... weight reduction, plumbing reduction, gravity assisted cleaning, and free space for temporary storage.
look at this pictures, this WC it's made in stainless steel and incorporate a shower plate, of course a corded shower head can be used to wash dog and stuffs or as bidet or as WC flush...

Rich Goldstone, if tiny houses don't provide for a certain level of sanitation, then the gov may crack down on the movement and builders.
By those photos I see, with "dirty" hands from toilet use, you then spread the germs when you turn on the shower water to wash your hands. People often times subconsciously rub their eyes or grab some 'finger food' accidentally introducing those germs to their body. Flu season comes to mind!
If you just rely on the kitchen sink, you spread the germs to the door handle and kitchen faucet handle.
It seems we are going backwards after decades of improved sanitation.
I prefer the bed and tub/shower to be places with **romantic possibilities.** Loft beds and toilets in the shower...Oh my!
YOU are a KEEPER.... and so is your house!
Thanks for this video. I love the idea of having two inputs for water-one for the tank, one for the system! We're almost finished with our plumbing! We're putting the bathtub p trap outside and insulating it. Hopefully that works as my partner is 6'1" so raising the tub isn't ideal. Want to do an electrical video? 😬
Thanks! You’re the best!
Great video I learnt a lot, you have a brilliant way in explaining in a sweet way, you are awesome and i wish you the best of luck..
This was so helpful I’m building a remote cabin this helped a lot!
Super helpful video - thanks a bunch!
Thanks for the video...so cute my dream is to build one w my dad who's been a carpenter his whole life
Love those plumbing beats! That was dope lol
Your content is great🍻
I'm very close to doing this myself, and your clips are informative and inspiring
The vent is not for smells, it's so the p trap doesn't siphon.
❤️❤️ your tiny house is cozy 😍
Thank you so much for this video. This is the stage I'm looking at now as we build our TH. We have a composting toilet and my plans call for a propane housing unit outside in a bay area. I think most people put pipes between studs but I thought one person put some of that between floor joists??? If that was the plan, I'd have had to remove the subfloor and insulation to my already built floor :(
Where did you find the tub you used for your shower?
So you can go completely off grid with water and also use propane as another
I'd like to see a video about your Spencer, Humless. Mainly whats in the box, the type of mattery used and if their cooled like the tesla Lithium batteries. How many amp hours they'll give you fully charged and how far down you can drain them before you've hit max discharge.
LB Jackson... a good charge controller would help regulate the degree to which batteries are depleted before recharging begins from solar setup or other means.
I live in a 424 square foot condo and would love to go even smaller. Just not sure how to make that work as I am in Orange County, CA and just not sure if there are viable options out here.
very clear and easy to understand, thank you for sharing
Induction cooking is the new way vs propane 😺
Those look like Sharkbite fittings and make plumbing work very simple.
Hi Jenna, I noticed the fill tube for the 46 gal tank looks to have some mold or mildew build up in it - the dark stuff in the pipe that runs to the gravity fill port outside. You might want to add a tiny bit of bleach to that and re-rout it so that it doesn't have the "dip" in it that holds water in the pipe after you fill. Love your videos! (On edit, I see you labeled it as the tank vent pipe)
I'm sold on the tiny house life. Its on the road income that's stopping me. A video about on the road jobs would be amazing!
Michael Maldonado You might want to look at another channel by Exploring Alternatives. They've produced some videos about working while on the road.
Michael Maldonado, Try websites, like workamper ( . ) com
This is so nice and interesting! I love this type of stuff tfs
Well done. Very similar to the system I am designing.
Is there anyway to put a rain collection system build in a tiny home if so haw many feet does the house need to be
What's your solar situation you mentioned like? If you have 12V batteries on that, you probably don't need that 120V to 12V inverter that will waste electricity in the conversion.
I added a 35 gallon water tank in back of my pickup with 12 volt pump incase I run out of water I don't need to haul my trailer to get water
I chuckled at "Navy showers".
Nice video & beautiful. I love it.
Nice set up what are the Dimensions on your tiny house?
Did you find using the off-grid plumbing practical, what with emptying the grey water tank, getting fresh water etc.? I decided against it in my build because I didn't want to lose the space for a water tank, especially since I didn't know if it would prove useful. How much power does the pump draw?
Your videos are so helpful. I’m looking to get a 500 square-foot tiny house. I know that’s not so tiny LOL. Wondering do most RV Parks allow 500 square-foot tiny homes to park in there? I don’t know where else I would park if an RV park didn’t take me. Thank you for your help
I know this video is 5 years old but if you still check it, a couple of questions: what composting toilet did you use? Did you like it? Have you upgraded or found better ones since then? Thanks!
She had a Nature's Head in the video.
Look nice,
Do you have a video on your electrical system?
Maybe do video of things would do differently if you had to build another tiny house. Things you wish you had in urs now or things that you wish you didnt put in ur home
Interesting detail....thanks!
Great info. Thanks!
How do you secure the holding tank under the trailer when you’re on the road?
Detailed kitchen and pantry goods storage please!
I love seeing you in all your video's, I was hoping for some older footage of your plumbing but since someone else did it for you, maybe I'll just have to do what I was gonna do before, and that's just wing it and hope I thought of everything. I'm having some trouble finding the huge hose that fits the same water inlet you have so I might have to create my own and just cut the provided one off. Maybe you know of a link where I can see a more detailed breakdown of a tiny water system?
More detail here: tinyhousegiantjourney.com/2015/03/02/tiny-house-plumbing/
You are so COOL!!
Thanks for the information, now all I need is my tiny house built... But since that's a ways off, I'll just sit here and daydream... Have you covered your solar setup yet in a video? If so, I'm not remembering that one...
Cheers! Happy Friday!
🦇
How do you maintain the plumbing system? I have built a tiny house as well, and about to start living in it. But a few questions have come to mind. Disclaimer one may be a little embarrassing. Nonetheless I hope you can answer them how do you maintain your water system? I've heard of using bleach and letting it soak but I'm curious about your methods. Also how do you about cleaning (not dumping) the natures head toilet?
Is it possible to plumb a tiny house without having to put a pipe through the trailer?
when building my house, because with plumbing and electric I will be paying someone else to do it, will it be ok for me to build my entire house and then leave the plumbing and electric to be done after?
How do you clean your reservoir?
I saw you had a small heater mounted in your bathroom does that help if you are somewhere really cold? We have had ours freeze up in Oklahoma in the winter.
When did u get the plumber to come out before u put the floor and walls on?? And what did u all need for it
Did you have a background in construction before building your tiny home? I would love to have a hand in the building process but haven't done any projects this big :)
does the compost toilet smell
What was the over all cost?
Hey Jenna, What are the type of lights (web link) that you are using on the outside of your tiny house? Thanks...
This is so helpful! Thank you :) so does the hose stay on all the time when you're on grid? If so, Do you turn it off at night? How does that work?
It stays on all the time.
Cost of setup?
What is the size of your bathroom tub? Thanks
When you use a composting toilet do you put toilet paper in it or is that disposed of separately?
Depends. Here is more detail: tinyhousegiantjourney.com/2015/09/18/tiny-house-composting-toilet/
Number 420 on the likes. A good omen.
About how much did it cost you to get a plumber to set up all of that?
I'm a plumber out of Oregon. I'd do it for 1600 tops. Not including big fixtures like the tankless heater that is. Haha sorry had to reply
Why don’t you buy an atmospheric water generator?
Great video - thank you. I would suggest getting rid of the whistling in the background though - it was very distracting as I was trying to listen to you.
Helloo 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
fix that water leak!!
So the chick faked building house for views...
