  • As a raccoon, it becomes clear that we are all trash, and all trash is treasure in the eyes of a raccoon.

This channel will continue to play all varieties of games, but Old School RuneScape has a special place in my heart. I started playing OSRS when I was in First grade. I was entranced by the detail of all the items. You equip a bronze longsword, your character can be seen holding a bronze longsword.
When you mined a rock, or attacked a goblin, or cooked a fish for food for heals, or buried some bones, all of this gave you XP for the skill. This is an RPG at its core, as deep and fluid as any of the best Bethesda titles.
Attacking goblins and saving up the gold coins they dropped was my primary past-time. We would get 30 minute time windows for internet access at our Public Library, but you could cheese it for one more 30 minutes if you logged into another pc. I explored most of Lumbridge Castle but was too scared to venture out too much. I would usually run out of stamin and get lost and have to use the Home tele back to Lumbridge. I never really let myself die, I was too scared of what would happen.
But one time I crossed the ditch wearing all my holiday event gear, not realizing the danger that lie in wait. I walked to some interesting looking pillars, then my screen flashed and I was back in Lumbridge with an empty inventory. No pumpkin head, no skeleton clothes, and no gold. I had 1000 or so coins backup in the bank, but I couldn't get the holiday items back.
Traumatized, I stopped playing for many years. Every time I tried to get back into the game I couldn't find my account info and would just forget about it.
Then my friend gave me a bond, and convinced me to try again. I had never had membership before. This is the story of my inner child finally getting to experience the wonders and depth of this incredible game. Hours soar by without notice. In Joy or in Tears, RuneScape was there for me to distract and to play.
I'll continue to make content for many games, but I'll never stop playing OSRS. I never really did, just took a decade or so break.
