Its not crap its a very powerful and deep synth. Good patches are hard to come by on most synths. Most synth users keep their good sounds for themselves, not make them public domain, even the people who are hired to program the presets for hardware manufacturers will churn out stock cliched sounds.
Great keyboard, already being used in all kinds of professional situations. For example, the keyboardist in the BBC Radiophonic Workshop uses one in addition to a Kronos. This synth has some extremely fat sounds, in spite of what the "analogue purist" whiners will tell you.
Im thinking to get one for live Gigs , How is the Sound quality played Live , one thing makes me worried, is ; almost everything sounds good one UA-cam , but the real thing might differ , similar situation happened to me in the past with one of the Kurzweil boards , I loved it when I listened to the Sound demos on YT , bought it on Ebay , and sold it a few weeks later , What Do you guys think , I need something like All-Rounder which you can take to the stage and Play different genres , to include bread and Butter Sounds such as Pianos, E Pianos, Nice strings , Brass , and Creamy smooth Leads .. Please share your experience , anyone ?????
Selling for $999 it's competing against the Deepmind 12. Virtual analogue vs. true analogue (but with DCO's for more programing capabilities)? IMO the DM12 would be the better deal if you don't mind 49 keys rather than 61.
i have both. This kicks the shit out of the deep mind 12 when it comes to both filters and and sound waves. They are both different boards and and i use both. i have made great sounds with the deep mind and use it in the studio. cause of the deep minds limited sound generators ( waves ) you can only do so much but what it does it does really well. i would love to see a model d given the deep mind treatment. with the screen and modualtion ability and three sound wave generators.
