There are all the adjustments that you need, but straight out of the box you will probably only need to adjust the straps, then play around with the angles and position on the board. - Спорт

Have you tried the ankle strap in the other position/ hole? I'm curious what that would do to the responsiveness. Also, how do you find these compare to your stratas?
No I have never actually moved them to the other spot, I imagine it would do something, but not a major change.
The Cartel X is still my number one choice mainly because the straps are so nice, but the Strata still does a decent job for a freestyle binding. I haven't sold my Stratas, so I guess that is a good sign. If I was going to stick to Union and wanted something that would compare a bit closer to the Cartel X, I would go for the Atlas.
Excellent review, thank you. One question. Have you had any issues with the toe strap ratchet coming loose? Beastie mentioned it in his review on The Good Ride, but I believe that was a 2021 or 2022.
Nah that has never happened to me (on any of the 9 burton bindings I have owned). I would say that if they are adjusted correctly so that the ratchet is halfway down the ladder when tight, it shouldn't happen.

Thanks! It is really good, I will finish the review later, but it is fast, light, poppy and just fun to ride overall.

I'm coming from Union bindings, wondering if you can tell me emphatically whether I should go with EST or Reflex version of Cartel X.... (I'm not concerned about the limitation of switching the bindings to a non burton board) so my focus is just riding ability, comfort etc... Please give me your advice :)
Go for EST then, that version does feel a bit nicer, almost like you are a little lower and more connected to the board. Though that is just the smallest of changes in real life.
Do Cartel X's seem like a good match for 2022 Jones Hovercraft or should I look at Union Force/Atlas? I heard adjustability is not amazing although there is the new disk now, will I be able to center the boot properly? I have size 11, looking at L size bindings.
Yeah I think they are a good match - all the adjustment is still there, but it just means you have to rotate the disc if you need the other options. There is still back, center and forward. What brand boots do you have?
@@SnowboardRobot I’ve got Deeluxe Empire, actually just checked they are 10.5. They are quite massive as far as I know
Ahh right, I was thinking if they were a smaller profile brand try and get into mediums, but you might have to go large

I think that you can't beat the straps on the Cartel X - though other than that the bindings are pretty similar in features/ride. I will be sticking with the cartels for a while.

How easy is it buttering on those compared to the stratas?
They are a bit stiffer than the stratas, but it isn't a huge deal. They aren't crazy stiff by any means
I'm confused between the Cartel X Re Flex and Malavita Re Flex.. and I saw I can use my boots size 8 on S binding.
How would you compare them to the malavita?
A little stiffer, and also with better standard ratchets than the double take ones on the Malavita. (I owned and rode Malavitas for a season or two).
What year model are these bindings?
