- In this episode I’m exploring the Nevele Grande Resort for what could be the final time: Slated for demolition and repurposing in the near future, we got one last look at this beautiful piece of history before it's potentially reduced to nothing more than rubble. Let’s explore!

I’ve driven past this resort countless times and although I have always wanted to explore this location, it seems that I’ve missed my chance. 😢
Filmed my first video ever here, holds sentimental value for sure. It may not be too late yet but I don’t know for sure!
hell yeah
Forever in our hearts- this place never gets old
Metal sheds and possibly the icerink look very sturdy and durable. When gone they will be replaced by nothing.
Yeah they definitely can reuse a lot of it, but the area is so trashed it may make sense to wipe it clean if they have the money for it
the ice rink probably needs new roofing as some of the glulam slats are rotting away and falling and it’s better to be safe than sorry, but the main beams still look to be in good condition
Interesting fact. Nevele spelled backwards is eleven. It was for the eleven children that the owners had.
Makes you wonder what prompted them to come up with that name- it definitely fits the bill. Hope you like the video!
Love the video.i knew this info because i use to service the families alarm system. they lived in Belle Harbor, queens
Greatest theme song but proof a great song cant save you
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Goodbye Nevele!!
Hopefully there’s enough time for you to see it!
Mid March 2024 the developer no longer needs to demo. most of the Nevele due to a major fire that tore through the property. The Tower is the only building still standing. Us people in the area have a name for this special kind of lightening, but I will keep that name out of this post.
As far as I’m concerned this is false information…. Only the winter lodge is destroyed. I had multiple people tell me since March 19th that 9/10 of the resort still stands…..
@@TheLukeExploresyeah, all buildings built after the 50’s and the storage barn still remain standing (so everything but the winter lodge), the firefighters did an incredible job taming the fire and keeping it away from the main building
and to the original commenter: keep the harmful stereotypes out of a fire most likely started by a vandal
i wanted to go here since i was in the area yesterday (i live in virginia now and is home as of now) but my parents told me we couldnt cuz of trespassing so we just stuck to the highway) i went to the nevele as a little kid and i always wanted to go back but sadly i can't cuz of it closing thank goodness i went though
Multistory buildings would cost many millions of dollars to build. Is a pity forestry service could not use a few of the multistory buildings to save them. Will be less interesting when demolished.
Agreed- however the supports for all the buildings are deteriorating very quickly. Water build up and damage on every floor of the main resort building for example, would make it VERY difficult to rebuild. I honestly think they need a total fresh start on those marsh lands
I was there recently and was advised to stay away the property because the police patrol the area frequently.
Did police or owners approach you?
They are currently on hold from demolishing it due to an endangered species of bird living there now, or so I've heard.
Good, hopefully it stays that way:)
I live very close about three minutes away and sadly tonight one of the buildings actually caught on fire on the property tonight
I saw that, do you know exactly how much damage was done?? That is super upsetting
Can’t tell you exactly how much damage but when I was there last night, it seemed like there was one structure on fire, but the structure that was on fire was surrounded by a lot of trees, and I believe it was the building in the video that has that tin roof on it with the big hole in it next to the tallest building on the property?
@@Napanochfarther if you get a chance to check out the full extent at some point that would be awesome, I would find it hard to believe that many of the structures besides that one are actually destroyed. For the most part they are wet, and there isn’t much left to actually burn. What a shame. Whoever did this, really some awful stuff. I hope I get to see it one more time
@@TheLukeExplores totally agree with you. It’s such a shame what people have done to that building with the graffiti and the vandalism.
@@Napanochfarther I’ve been exploring for years now, and not once have I gotten the “urge” to vandalize in one way shape or another. Break a piece of glass, sure. But light an entire piece of history on fire and potentially start a forest fire? What the HELL is wrong with some people. This is shameful, and disgusting behavior. They will never be caught either. I hope they got what they wanted.
Dope as shit!
Thank you Jacob! Definitely gonna miss this place, was one of my all time favorites. Filmed this back in the summer and never thought it would be my final time exploring it!

I would like to plan a walk with friends, police or someone can kick me out from property?
Always possible! Haven’t had too much trouble here though
The graffiti there is crazy 👀
Such a sight to witness- gonna be sad when it’s all gone in the future!
@@TheLukeExploresWhat are they building in its place?
