Dropped my live blade lucha on my foot yesterday. Could of been worse. I got lucky
Literally just happened, was Just tying in a reverse thumb rollover slipped down and got my upper foot pretty good😪 But it’s the price you pay for accuracy.
More people need to realize this, I dropped my rep on my foot and thought I would pass out 😅

I tend to use liquid bandaid for normal cuts, and for bad cuts a bandaid infused with Manuka honey.

I have a Lucha and it is a super good flipper. Though it is heavy, you get used to it pretty easily. 👍

Good info about those bandages but applying as much pressure as possible to a simple finger wound doesn't have anything to do with the scaring process. Also you don't want to directy tocuh the open wound with your hands right away because they might be dirty and you might risk infecting the wound. First thing is to wash your hands and clean the wound to avoid infections and then applying pressure and sealing the wound. Hope that helps!
Getting into live blades now and simultaneously got recommended this- love to see it
Letting a wound bleed can help remove dirt and bacteria.
Making sure to push the wound closed and washing away excess blood, gently dabbing away moisture and then applying a bandaid which keeps the wound closed is how I would deal with it.
Also I would recommend if you do flip with a live blade make sure it is as sharp as you can keep it and don't let it dull because if it's still ends up cutting you it's going to be a very jagged cut and it's going to take even longer to heal and there's a much higher chance of scarring even with the hydrochloride (IDK how to spell it so this is what autocorrected) bandages

Good points 😁 Those of use who play with blades, whether standard folders or balis, because cuts are inevitable. I was introduced to the balisong knife in the 80's as popularity surged. Jeff Imada was my hero. Not many did the aerial acrobatics common today. The focus was on martial blade technique (open, use, close). My instructor's motto was, "drop your knife, lose your life," based on his survival methods in the jungle and on the street. Thanks for walking, flipping and informing. 👍🗡️🔥

Great tip! I'll have to check this out since I just got into balis. For small slices, I've found super glue and small strips of kinesiology tape work great if you want to quickly patch up and keep flipping. The fabric, stretchy tape is very adhesive and doesn't make the spot slippery or bulky as a lot of bandaids do.

Got a wound on my index from something that ain’t a balisong and now I can’t flip :(
I actually got a pretty nasty cut in the EXACT area that you pointed out as an example on the pointer finger. I think I could have applied a little more pressure at the start. I’ve been using normal bandaids with antibacterial creams and I would change dressings every night. It’s been a little over a month and a half and the scarring has begun to show, so I usually apply plenty of Vaseline to help moisturize the scar. Good content!
i usually use Tetracilin bandage up to stop bleeding, bleeding stopped, take off the bandage, Tetracilin on, and leave it heal without bandage, it usually takes 1 day before i can function normally with the cut

Im getting a new balisong and i dont know if i should choose between the (trainer) Kershaw Lucha or the Squidtrainer 3.5. do you have any suggestions? if neither reccomend me a really good balisong for its price. I really enjoy flipping the mako v4 as its my only good tier balisong. hope youre doing great!
Personally, I have the lucha, and I would recommend getting the squid, because the stock lucha is kinda eh imo

I don't keep mine razor sharp, I think that's silly personally. I keep it sharp enough to open boxes because that's mostly all I do knife wise with them!
