    Just a tip, put your stock on a bag and let the rifle rest on it when shooting. You might see your groups go down to 1/2 moa or 1/2" at 100 yards. Great rifle and very good shooting for no stock rest.

I haven't experimented with cartridges from different manufacturers for a long time on my Tikka varmint and Sako S20, everything flies bullet to bullet practically. And the Federal doesn't fly well from anything.

    My good friend and hunting buddy just got this model in 7mm rem mag. His rifle hates federal ammo. Tried 3 different federal box ammo and couldn't do better than 1 moa at 100 yards. However it loved his Hornady eld match 180 hand loads. 5 shot groupings with .5 moa (might be better if strapped in a sled). We both disliked the factory trigger weight. Breaks clean but way too heavy.
    Lol. I knew that was Wiaprous. We shoot there alot. Was just there today in exact same spot. We did some shooting out to 300 yards into that hill with his Tikka. Couple km further in the road we have a 3' metal plate at 1000 yards. Cheers and good luck shooting/hunting.

    I hate being negative, but had one of these and TBH you’re better off with a t3x lite or superlite.
    The blued barrel rusts extremely easy and the paint on the stock rubs off too easy.

    • @bigtimegoodtime
      @bigtimegoodtime  2 роки тому +2

      You should know that this is indeed a Tikka T3X lite. The roughtech additive comes from the material finish. Check out cabela’s/bass pro/tikka website to learn more. It’s like Calling Fors Raptor F150 not being a Ford F-150. I never had any issues with rust. I live in very dry and cold climate and I clean my rifle after every use.

    • @devinb3397
      @devinb3397 2 роки тому +1

      @@basedWisco715 it’s called a lite but it’s not actually the same as a lite barrel. Do some research, it’s the D18 profile barrel. Doesn’t make sense why they called it a lite IMO. I even ordered a stock from a regular t3x lite and it wouldn’t even fit on my old roughtec because the barrel is too thick.
      Sure you can oil it, but I’d rather get a cerakote or stainless and never have to worry about oiling unless it gets wet. This roughtec would rust like no tomorrow if you got the tiniest bit of water on it. For $1800 aud it really should be cerakote or stainless like all the other models.
      Also, I actually completely wore off the blueing on the barrel on one spot from using a safari sling for a few months. The safari sling is where the rifle sits by your side, and after hundreds of thousands of steps and the rifle rubbing back and forwards it wore the blueing completely off in one spot.
      Im not even a tikka hater either, I have a 243 aspire, 7mm rem mag superlite , and the t1x . Just not a fan of the blueing

    • @basedWisco715
      @basedWisco715 2 роки тому +1

      @@devinb3397 it’s called a lite because it’s lightweight, not because of the barrel profile
      Idk man, I have 50 year old blued rifles that have been hunted with all their lives that aren’t rusty at all. I find it hard to believe that Tikka does a worse job blueing their rifles than Winchester or Ruger. Guess we’ll see, I’m going to pick up one of these in .308
