Don't listen to the other 2 guys. It's HIGHLY illegal to remove your catalytic converters in most all states pretty much. Also, most places have noise ordinances you have to strictly abide by.

I have the same truck but it's 4wd and mine has enough power to spin both wheels on dry pavement. I have true duel exhaust with 2 inch ID pipes with 12 inch glasspacks and I have no power loss like this. You need cats for back pressure in order to get low end torque, or you need to have the truck tuned for no cats so it puts more fuel in. These trucks don't respond well to no back pressure since they are low revving engines.
Well I have same truck just different style, and I was gonna keep all four cats and run true dual without muffler but I didn't know if I'd have enough back pressure, I guess I will cause u have that setup with only two cats
B Mac I did not get a check engine light, but I heard some people do. I had new threaded bungs welded into the new pipe so they could screw in where they used to
NotoriusZIG i have 4.6 triton 2v and i cut the muffler off. Sounds good and isnt raspy at all. Is fairly loud. I actually put a 12in glasspack on just so i can say i hav a muffler if i get pulled over

Ches fordham you think this is bad for the motor ? I have the same truck wit no muffler everything is the same but I'm trying to take all 4 of the cats out but I'm just nervous to do it
Blorox No its not bad for the motor. It will be REALLY loud though. If you take your cats off i would suggest running some small mufflers to quiet it down, because you can get pulled over.

@@pro_ggram3d637 so i did this on my expedition. i used spark plug nonfoulers and have no engine light. without the sensors plugged in i had a CEL

The 5.4 is a naturally louder engine, more torque and more grunt
