    The BSP is a killer sequencer/controller. Also the transpose function, randomness, swing, sending midi CC etc etc makes it an excellent piece of gear. I only have an issue with changing between looper/arp mode… perhaps it needs a firmware update…

      This hardware thing doesn't make any sound by itself; it's a sequencer so it triggers sounds elsewhere. In this setup he has it triggering sounds in Ableton Live. You can use it separate from a computer to trigger sounds in other external synths, sound modules, or drum machines.

      @jmfhsmith4923 2 роки тому

      @@JJ-vp3bd, to sequence drums I use a Boss DR-660 and DR-770. The 770 has more patterns but less polyphony. I mostly don't use the internal sounds but I feel like the 770 has more punch and cleaner sounding. I use the Boss DR-5 as a note sequencer for hardware synths that I later edit note off and CC data inside an MPC X. I plan on getting a Manikk Outbreak module to use these sequencers with my Eurorack modular. Each trigger out of the module also has a velocity to cv out for individual drums. I want to try using pad MIDI velocity to control VCA modules or some other way. The thing I don't like about modular drums is lack of velocity. The only other sequencers I still want to try is the AKAI XR-20 which lets you sequence 3 octave polyphonic keyboard part and a Yamaha RY-30 because of the mod wheels and deeper synthesis. I have tried basically every other drum sequencer except those and the the latest Electribe. I tried the Beatstep Pro and don't like it for drumming.

      If you own a Push then your automation, drum rack and melodic stuff are perfectly aligned with Ableton and you can do the same thing as with the BSP. I disagree, $400 is a lot of bread for this maybe if it had a full size semi weighted keyboard but not with synth style mini keys and only 4 track sequencing. I’d go a bit more $$$ and get a Toraiz Squid or a Squarp Pyramid Mk2. On a tight budget find a vintage Yamaha sequencer. Isn’t the new Novation Launchpad Pro X also a 4 track sequencer and $299.99 ?
    Personally I’ll stick with my Toraiz Squid

      The Beatstep is exactly 2x cheaper than a Toraiz Squid in Germany. I got the Squid but I'm thinking of selling it for a Beatstep because I have no use for basically the entire left half of the Squid.

      Very true half the Price and only 3 tracks versus 16 tracks and lacks a lot of the functionality of the Squid but only you know what’s best for you
