This video is the perfect amount of oddly specific. I’m waiting on this exact setup to ship and was just looking up videos on the three combined. Sounds great and thank you!
I just added the Neutron to my setup. For my Behringer synths I have a Deep Mind 12, a Model D, K-2 and now the Neutron. They are amazing synthesizers!!!
Yeah they sound awesome don't they? I have both of these as well as the K-2. Those 3 and the Deep Mind 12 make up my Behringer collection. And then there is my vintage Yamaha Collection. Totally cool stuff. I've got all the bases covered.
I had never done any youtube content before this, but the positive feedback here definitely makes me want to do this again soon ! i'm passing my medschool exams in 3 weeks, and will definitely do this kind of video again after that when time feels more affordable :) thanks again !
I would like to have these two synths, the Neutron has the snappiest envelopes I have ever heard, and the Model_D is a great Moog substitute....but.....I stopped buying Behringer gear after 1000's of dollars was wasted on gear that only lasted 2 years and then failure. Do you still have these synths today? How many hours are they used a day? Any tuning problems with the Model_D?
Maybe you can help me out with this...I have a Behringer Crave, Elektron Digitone, and Arturia DrumBrute Impact that I want to route to the Beatstep Pro and then into my DAW Logic Pro X. I want everything synched and bea able to record audio/midi into Logic. I have the audio connected part down, but it’s gettin all the gear synched with midi. I bought a MIDI Thru box as well. What’s do you think is best way to get this going? Thanks
how did you maneged to use the beatstep with the neutron, i can't use any sequences on my ableton. I get sound out of my neutron, but not through the beatstep
I'm trying to learn how to connect my Model D and Neutron so they are both controlled by my Keystep and SQ-64 Sequencer without any USB cables, any tips ? advice?
Hey, mate! Great job! Awesome jam! Btw, are you able to make 2 totally different sequences (one for each Behringer) using the BeatStep Pro? I mean, can you make a sequence (like an arpeggiator) in Neoutron and a different one (other type of arpeggiator) on Model D via the same Midi Out of the BSP? Cheers! Keep the jam alive!
Hello ! Thx man, really appreciated :) Yes you can, the beatstep pro has 2 melodic sequences (with CV outputs for gate/velocity and v/Oct each) and a drum sequencer with 8 (I think?) Gate outputs, so yes, you can sequence two different melodies and a drum pattern :)
This is exactly the question that I was about to ask... I've just got into all this hardware in the last few months and want a Neutron to go with my Model D I have connected to a Keystep... Was having problems working out how I would be able to run 2 consecutive sequences from 2 synths at the same time, but on different channels... Looks like I need a Beatstep Pro!! Thanks for the info!! :)
I was just on the phone asking about the same setup. so now I definitely got to get after hearing this jam man it was great. how did you get the snares in is my questions. does the BSP have a internal sound bank?
Hello ! Glad you like it mate :) thx a lot ! Percussive elements were controlled by the BSP sending Midi over to a drum rack inside Ableton Live (BSP doesn't have an internal sound bank, no) The setup is fun yes :) I do suggest spacing the purchases though, as I have found that getting 2 synths (my only 2 synths!) within a month or two was counterproductive, creatively speaking (learning them is essential)
@@mahdif1000 will do and I will continue to look out for more videos from you. if I can ask for a favor it would be to make more jam sessions ( even screen recording the Ableton Live)if you are up to it. not to get weird or anything I dont have enough friends into making anything and know what they are talking about so watching these videos is all I got to learn from. and I NEED THEM! thank you again.
@@mahdif1000 Yeah, this is not something one would do with out a bit of practice, very inspiring. I heard a ton of demos of the neutron and they sounded real grungy and distorted (to me) but you show it can sound very decent too. I would NOT wait to order these ( in America) as our country and China are nor acting nice lately, I suspect the inexpensive gear will go sky high here .
Great jam :D. I was wondering if you could help me with something... I am having trouble figuring out how connecting beatstep with neutron via CV works. I can only get notes if I open up VCA Bias, but then it stays on indefinitely. How should I patch it so that the signal goes via envelope, like when using MIDI?
Hello! I think the missing part in what you're saying is connecting the gate output of your beatstep sequence to both the envelopes inputs (env1 and env2) to trigger your filter (controlled by env2) You can also play the oscillators paraphonically (2 sequences, sequence 1 v/oct to the osc 1 input and the gate output to the env1, sequence 2 v/oct to the osc2 input and the gate output to the env2) No filter envelope in paraphonic mode though if I'm not mistaken :)
Sounds fantastic. This is exactly the setup i'm considering, but I'm also thinking about the Moog Grandmother and the Lifeforms SV-1. Would you still recommend this setup?
I have plans to pick up one of these real soon but I'm so on the fence on which one to choose first. Could be many months before I can buy another. Model D seems smoother and fatter. Neutron seems to have more harmonic potential and general versatility. I like to mix ethnic and classic acoustic sounds with electronica in alot of what I do. I wonder what Emerson Lake & Palmer or Pink Floyd or Yes would do with gear like this if they were just starting out today.
If you're planning on Analog synths without the rest of the modular world, I'd say go for the Model D, it is amazing. If you're planning on or might want to expand to full modular/eurorack format, I'd say go for the Neutron as it will fit in just perfectly in any eurorack case in my opinion
@@ADHDev1234 yes, it does, sorry for not being clear. What i meant was that the Neutron has plenty of useful utility modules : 2 attenuators, a sample and hold, a slew limiter, plenty of LFO settings, etc... And that makes it easier on the wallet 😉
@@mahdif1000 That's make sense. You would probably need another oscillator to have the same fat sound as in Model D. I'm still hesitating between those two. On one hand I love this big Model D sound but on the other I like the versatility of the Neutron and that could be best entry unit for modular world.
@@mahdif1000 yeah it's very nice.. I have a Neutron too but I'm far away from your skills :) but when I get the money some day I will add a model d, too!
Thx mate ! Appreciated :) The neutron is triggered via midi on Ableton, but the beatstep is sending CV to different parameters (waveshape, PWM and resonance on the filter), everything is basically experimenting though, probably could have wired it up differently for similar results ! You can however trigger the neutron with the beatstep pro, via the V/Oct input for note changes, but if you are using a DAW I find it easier to trigger it there, especially if you're adding percussion samples like in this video :)
