    South Korean's anthem used to be North Korea's anthem too. Only the lyrics were sang to the tune of Auld Lang Syne.

      Well to be specific it was the 'provisional Korean government's anthem, not the north's. And then Korea split.

      🇰🇵 North Korea: 애국가(Aegukka)
      🇰🇷 South Korea: 애국가(Aegukga)

      @@gyeyangmetro761 Actually the pronunciation is same, but the romanizations are different. SK romanized '애국가' according to its letters, while NK did according to pronunciation.

    south korea anthem is like a national anthem with church tones and melodies, in contrast to the north korean anthem it is very powerful lyrics.. the north korean anthem is about struggle and liberation from oppression

      @@rsxmaster, I mean, the anthem has no references to all the things we usually associate with the regime which uses said anthem and simply talks about how being a Korean is the best thing ever (like any normal anthem).

      ​@@user-cl9du6lm4t South Korea is a police state controlled by the American elite. The South is richier than the North thanks to the huge financial investments from the US and Japan. The very existence of the socialist government in the DPRK is beneficial to Americans, because this is the only legitimate reason for them to stay in South Korea as long as possible in order to keep China at gunpoint.

      @@prodofine373 the official name in both languages would be 애국가 coming from chinese 愛國歌 which means "country love song" and even the words are the same "aegugka/aegukka" the songs are different, basically their anthem is just called national anthem.
