I totally agree about keeping the kick drum reverb subtle. If I took all the side-eye I've given engineers for drowning my kick drum in reverb I'd be looking back into my brain! Go Chris!

Hi great content..how dould you go about setting up drum axes with samples #NOT live drums. As I was wondering if I need an overhead track, room track etc. Like the set up of bfd eco. Cheers

Reverence is quite nice
We place a hard highcut on the wet signal, as the real reflections are normaly in the lower frequences. That makes the room more realistic.
That works well for sure... To compare... Try adding the highcut before the signal hits the reverb... Go with whatever sounds better to you
