I'm sorry but a young Diana Ross' voice can be heard here. I must agree with Berry Gordy about similarities with "Love is here ..." For me, the similaritiy is in the Intro to the song featured here. This is another hidden gem by The Supremes and is refreshing to hear another song (from the vaults!)
To my ears, it doesn't sound at all like Love is Here, except for the tempo. It would have fit well on the H-D-H album, as I felt the album had too many covers. Thought I might have captured it on one of their From the Vaults albums, i.e. Cellarful of Motown, Let the Music Play, but, no. Not in my catalog at all. A wonderful find, however. Thank you very much.
Very interesting find. It has most of the HDH elements - like the heavy beat on 2 & 4 made by guitar chords, snare and tambourine. But I would've expected strings, baritone sax and other horns as well. Diana has a different sound. I think she's double tracked, or enhanced in some way. Having said that, it just doesn't feel like a Supremes song. And I'm not hearing the similarity to Love Is Here And Now You're Gone. Sorry, Berry. But my biggest issue is that my ears don't pick out Mary or Flo at all. But it is deserving of our attention. Thanks!
@@CenoMoto33 Andantes singing background, maybe? It's possible. It was rumored that Diana often cut tracks when Mary and Flo weren't around and it became official when Flo left, so who knows?
She's sounding a Bit like Tammi here in Approach. They were experimenting with effects here. But that is NOT The SUPREMES here. It's a unique "find" tho.
Mary and Florence, the Supremes. After Florence left, all "Supremes" vocals behind Diana was done by the Andantes (Motown background vocalists), except on the work the girls did with the Temptations in the late '60s.
Definitely late 60s Diana Ross, sounds amazing
At first I wasn't sure but by the second verse hands down. Ross

No mistaking that voice anyone that says that is not Diana, sorry know that voice now for 46 years no one sounds like her,This is a gem to hear!!
Yep that's her.
Yes it is. The great Diana Ross!

1966. It's Diana Ross singing so it's The SUPREMES!
I don’t think this sounds like LIHANYG. It sounds more like If I Could Build My Whole World Around You by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell!
Shame the Marvelettes didn't record it. Would have been perfect for Wanda.
Might Be A Demo, Not Complete
I guess I don't see the similarities between this and "Love is Here." It sounds like other Motown songs but not that one.
Who are The backing vocals?
Mary and Florence, the Supremes. After Florence left, all "Supremes" vocals behind Diana was done by the Andantes (Motown background vocalists), except on the work the girls did with the Temptations in the late '60s.
Her Enunciation Sounds Like Diana and To It Can Be A Demo
sounds like the b side to the happening, all i know about you
Too much flanger. I
